    Now what's so hard about making a video like this . This guy in a 2 min video answered all my questions. I have been searching for a few hours now and he nailed it on the head. I bought a a gm ls high output alt from a guy who project went bust so I got a brand new js alts 370 for 300 but on my other vehicle it was plug and play no harness that's a v6 3.5 chevy malibu. This time it had this harness I didn't want to fuck up a 500 dollar alternator before I got use it thanks for ur help and info awesome BTW this 1 didn't have the manufacturer instructions in the box

      I made it. 12V from ignition source - bypass fuse to ignition fuse and you have a second 12V. Add resistor 470Ohm and connect it to L terminal. It works in my Cadillac STS Seville 2000.

The DC has a 4 pin conection and us making a Whirring sound now when I drive but that's the only issue I'm having with it. Do I need to change the harness to a 4 pin if so how would I do this. I'm getting a "SERVICE BRAKE BOOSTER" because your new harness doesn't use a "P" terminal. Do you know what I connect to my Factory's "P" Terminal? I have a 2003 Yukon.

    • @autotechengineeringusa
      @autotechengineeringusa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      P is rarely used. If you are not seeing 14.8+ off the alternator post then you may have wired incorrectly

    • @dadokta
      @dadokta 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 2003 Avalanche 1500 and just went through this. If you are getting "SBB" like i was, the P goes to the (SBA) supplemental brake assist pump. should be the blue wire on your pigtail. The 250 amp alternator from JS only had 2 hairpins in a 4 pin plug F & L, The stock alternator is a 3 hairpin 4 pin plug F, L, & P. S is not used on the factory harness.

      And the L goes straight to dash light and the opposite side of it is my ignition 39 wire . So the diode will in theory drop the voltage so it wont overcharge correct? And that is between the s terminal & main battery lug on back of alternator correct?
