Amazing airbnb, Santa Pola, Spain

Even with over seven million airbnbs worldwide, it's still tough to find one that is perfect. This airbnb in Santa Pola, Spain comes close.
Santa Pola lies twenty kilometres south of Alicante - it’s much quieter than its neighbour. A taxi from Alicante airport cost €30 (April 2024).
This two-bed, two-bath, airbnb, hosted by Carlos and Alicia, is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We especially liked the comfortable terrace, with steps leading down to a manicured garden and pool.
The kitchen is modern, with induction hob, coffee pod machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and diswasher. Carlos kindly left coffee, tea, beer and a bottle of wine. A futuristic washing machine is in an out-house, next to the terrace.
The living room is really comfortable, with a large, smart TV.
There's one bathroom downstairs, with a large walk-in shower and one upstairs. The master bedroom has a small terrace overlooking the garden. The second bedroom can be configured as two singles or one double.
A large, modern supermarket, with delicious fresh produce, is just a five-minute walk.
The sea is a five-minute walk, a good beach is ten minutes.
It's a 20-minute walk to Santa Pola harbour and the excellent Los Curros restaurant.
The central bus station is 25 minutes walk.
A late checkout wasn't an issue, as the next guests weren't arriving until a few days later.
If I could choose to add anything, it would be to enclose the terrace within bug screens like they do in Florida, even better screen the pool - we hate wasps and mosquitos!
Carlos and Alicia are friendly and helpful hosts - always available via WhatsApp. We really enjoyed our stay and if you plan to visit Santa Pola, this is the airbnb to book.

It really is a lovely place. We didn't arrive until late and I didn't get around to making the video until the last day when it was raining.
