    I see no way of doing this better, other than an extra pair of hands for support!!! Looks like you've done a great job, my question to you, is have you domed any rivet tails and how did you do it as I am currently trying to rivet the horns of my tender with domed heads both sides.

      Thanks for your comments, I am afraid I have never tried to dome the rivet tails so I cant be much help. I guess if you can make a hardened punch with the correct concave form then it would surely work. The only thing you will have to get absolutely right is the length of the rivet, too short and you wont get them formed fully and too long and they will be distorted at the base. Do let us know how you get on.

      Graham just out of interest, have you heard of the model engineering clearing house forums, if not I recommend you check it out, there are many build threads of peoples locos on there, if you have and you`re already on there, then I would be very interested in following your progress.
