Dear Mike, this is to let you know that I followed your video step-by-step and I was able to fully apply it into another context. I was beyond happy when I saw a colored map pop out on my screen with exactly what I wanted. I can't thank you enough for your guidance.
@@mikejonaseconometrics1886 Hallo thank you for this very informative video I have learnt a lot. However am stuck since my panel data has repetitive ID variable and the panel has years that repeat within the panel. How do I solve this? P.S my data is states of one country that I need to create a map of. thank you so much
Hi Mike, I have a problem when merging the dataset is gives the error "variable date does not uniquely identify observations in the master data". I use Stata 17 MP.
Hi Mike, Thanks a lot for the video. Would you also know the code to plot the values of a particular variable within the map? I would like to add the value (per country) within the boundaries of the country (since I only do Europe, this should be pretty well readable), but have unfortunately not been able to find the code. Thanks!
Dear Mike, thank you very much for your video ! I have a Stata project to do for my master degree, and i need to know how to do a map. However, i have a problem, when i enter the command "wbopendata, indicator(....) clear long" Stata put a message "wbopendata is unrecognized" and when i try to install "ssc install wbopendata", Stata put a message "...the file already exists". Have you ever heard about this problem or do have an idea of how to solve it ? Your help would be precisous. Thank you, Lucie
thank you so much. I followed your steps until grmap, it is not working (command grmap is unrecognized). I am wondering if it is because I am using Mac ? I also typed spmap which is the same as grmap. could you please advise ?

Thank you, it is a very useful video.
i would suggest the audience use the "merge m:1" command as well.
Thanks so much i was stuck trying to graph with maptile this worked!!
Many thanks Mike. How can I get the US states' map?

I followed the same method but i am facing a problem with data merging. What should i do
i want to use the stata to describe a map showing the distribution of the libraries among the country.how to do it ?
Hi Mike, I have a problem when merging the dataset is gives the error "variable date does not uniquely identify observations in the master data". I use Stata 17 MP.
When I use grmap I'm give:
"option t() required

did you resolve it? i had the same issue
Amazing explanation. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much for the video! Is there any way to add labels to the map?
Mike, this is amazing!!! Thank you
