    I like all the ways you've organized your inks. I especially like the part of your catalog where you group all the shades of an ink color together. I think I'm going to try to do something like that. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I'm always trying to figure out how to organize ink swatches. Your method of slitting the pages is such a great idea. I, too, am an "Alpha" person, but am always thinking that grouping by colors is more useful. Have to ruminate more on this subject. Thanks, Karyna.

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's kind of why I have both ways - colours and alphabetical order. Satisfies both parts of my brain!

  • @inksplat
    @inksplat ปีที่แล้ว

    I love this so much!! I just use fountain pen companion to really keep track, and random currently inked or notebook scribbles, but I am loving all the ringed binder organization people are using now. I was using some notebooks in a TN for ink swatches, but that got out of hand very quickly. Since I stopped using ringed planners, I have quite a few personal-sized filofaxes (even an A5), and I've been considering repurposing them for pen/ink cataloging purposes. The wheels are spinning, now I just need to make time to start tackling such a huge project. LOL.
    I also have approximately a million col-o-rings, and I'm in the process of organizing them by color order, but my brain works like yours with the alphabetizing. It's just hard to find things for comparison sometimes, so I have a baseball card box i've been organizing my swatch cards into. Another large project to do though!

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never moved my collection over to Fountain Pen Companion, although I do imagine I will one day. I've seen many use the baseball card organizers but I'd need that alphabetical, too! A big project but it was so fun to do and so satisfying in the end!

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan

      It’s actually really simple. I have a drawer in my IKEA Kallax shelf for all the bottled inks (which is full!). And then another drawer for samples, which are kept in an ink sample vial holder I bought from PenChalet that holds 50 samples.

    I use fountain pen companion and an A5 ring binder. My "official" swatches are done with tomoe river paper. My monthly ink palette choices are done on either tomoe river paper or 64GSM Kokuyo KB paper

    I've recently set up an A5 hobonichi day free to catalog both colour family's and brand family's, - there's a video on my channel. I was thinking I like your chronological notebook, but then realised I actually that, it's just not as pretty as yours! I also have 2 color-o-rings that I'm working on. The only thing I don't currently have is a fountain pen log, other than what I record for currently inked. I'm liking the bottle of ink record as well - more ponderings I think!!

    such perfect timing with this upload!! I am currently working on my own pen and ink catalog. I am not creative when it comes to tasks like this so it is something I am always "researching" ideas for. Recently I purged a lot of old ink samples, like 5 plus years old ones, and I kind of regret not cataloging them correctly before I tossed them because now I only have the pages I originally swatched them on upon receiving them. I was new in the hobby when I got them so of course I did not use the correct paper. YOu know what they say about hindsight..... Any way, thanks for listening to my minor tangent 😅🙃

    • @KarynaLovesToPlan
      @KarynaLovesToPlan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Loved your tangent! I wish I had started something like this at the very beginning, but like you said, hindsight. I'm glad I at least have the Rhodia paper swatches to refer to. Glad this was helpful, Abie!

    Great ideas. I have no record of my pens. I should do something for insurance purposes. Almost afraid to know how much is invested. I have tried several ink cataloguing methods. Just started a Wearinguel book with their Cheshire cat cards. Allows for moving cards around.
