Barry has a very normal sounding speaking voice. He is singing in falsetto, and his is one of the best ever. You DEFINITELY need to see the movie. It's VERY harsh (definitely rated R), but it is THE movie when it comes to New York nightlife in the 70s, especially around the disco scene. John Travolta is superb in the film, and the rest of the cast is also incredible.
I think the original unrated from the 70s is the best version period. I graduated in '82 and it was amazing on the big screen inside or at the drive in!!!! Yes, I said at the DRIVE IN!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Maurice and Robin were twins and Andy was the baby he sang solo and od’d very young! This was a favorite movie and soundtrack! Grew up in the disco era! I t was definitely dancing music! And yes John Travolta was that and so much more! Barry’s voice when talked was not high!
Every time I hear this song all I can think about is John Travolta walking into, the Club in Saturday Fever. I was 16 in 1977 and it was all about the Bee Gees, Disco, R&B and watching Soul Train for me.

Some of us older folks get a big kick out of seeing those who were our age when these came out, getting the same sweet surprise we had when we first heard them . Great reaction and keep going w the Bee Gees, you won't regret it!
Saw the movie when it first came out. Danced to this song at house parties and at school dances. Had the wide lapel and collar out over the jacket. brings back great memories
"YOU SHOULD BE DANCING" - 1976, HQ Audio is definitely one track you guys need to check out! (In this video, all four brothers are singing together, their baby brother Andy sharing a mic with older brother Mo - it's from a performance in Houston, TX - and this clip also shows a young John Travolta commanding the dance floor - as well as Sir Barry doing his own little twirl on stage, during the instrumental break ...).
@@jayeginn5963 Why would that be a problem? It's a rare clip of all four brothers on stage, singing together - and it's an extremely well made video, combining the audio version with visuals from a concert and a movie.
I was 17 when Saturday Night Fever came out. The movie and the Bee Gees were huge back then. I wore the bell bottoms and the wide collar shirts. I thought I was all that lol 😆
When this came on, everyone came off the wall n filled the floor. All the disco dudes would be bustin those John Travolta moves. You almost guarantee someone would show up in a white suit, black shirt. 😂 I defy anyone who doesn't start to shimmy when this plays. Asia airing those pipes again 🤩 👍👏👏👏👏
I'm 56 and i loved em too! Can't believe how many people "say" they hated that era. SNF is still one of my favorite movies to this day! Who wasn't in love with John Travolta in this and Grease 😅😅
To hear Barry singing in his regular voice try Nights on Broadway. This group is the best ever. I love the Bee Gees!!! Have listened to them all my life. Great reaction!!!
Night Fever is the track they took from to make their infamous "drum loop" to use for "Staying Alive." Barry Gibb found his falsetto in the making of "Nights on Broadway." He was asked to try it by their producer Arif Mardin for an ad lib.
THIS WAS THE FANTASTIC 70s .... DANCE MUSIC WAS KING. I would go back in a heart beat ,I F I COULD TAKE MY WHOLE FAMILY , The 70s was just PURE WELL ,,,,,, The NUKE
Love all the Bee Gees! Thanks for another great reaction! And just to be clear, the movie "Saturday Night Fever" had a great soundtrack with Bee Gees' songs "Night Fever" (#1 on Billboard), "Stayin' Alive" (#1 on Billboard), "How Deep Is Your Love" (#1 on Billboard), "More Than A Woman", "Jive Talkin'" (#1 on Billboard), "You Should Be Dancing" (#1 on Billboard).
OMG, I wasn't old enough to go to clubs but my friend's brother and his girlfriend would practice their disco moves all week long for the clubs. They practiced every night in the garage and had some awesome moves. Dancing was serious business. Everybody checked out everybody's else's moves. I used to sit there and was in "awe" at the way they would move. They were so good!!! I thought they were SO COOL!!!! I couldn't wait till I was old enough to go out dancing! And me, I'm still dancing! Dancing is a joy of life.
And then Denny Terrio came out with that TV show Dance Fever...and all those instructional dance moves where you would cut out the paper feet and put them on the floor so you could learn the steps...lolololololol!!!
I used to be going to the disco in the 70's listening to The Bee Gees ofcourse, as well as many others ofcourse. But they were just superb when dancing!!!
Watchin' BJ groovin' to this was great but when he broke out into the John Travolta index finger pump was just priceless... y'all can tell BJ speaks the truth when it comes to his declaration to being a true Bee Gees fan. You two are the best-THANKS!
I was 7 years old when "Saturday Night Fever" was released. I remember there was a lot of hype about the movie (especially that the guy from "Welcome Back Kotter" was staring in it) and the soundtrack was a bestseller. But suddenly everywhere you turned your head there was something either about the movie or disco - even K-Tel Records started selling albums with paper diagrams of footprints to put on the ground in order to teach people how to do disco-era dances like "the Hustle." The '70s was a weird decade.
I'm 59 I have watched so many of your videos !You two are incredible together, and I love your reactions, are you are bringing me much joy at a hard time in my life! Sending you love, and thank you ! ❤
The" Saturday Night Fever" album is one of the hottest selling albums of all time. Second grossing movie soundtrack(over 40 million sold) after Whitney Houston's soundtrack," Bodyguard".
This was one of my favorite Bee Gees songs.I was 10 when this came out and I had the Soundtrack! I do remember roller skating to this and You Should Be Dancing! What a fun time! I had a major crush on brother Andy Gibb ! Also no this is his falsetto voice. They are from Australia so he has a bit of an accent but their earlier stuff before the disco era he used his regular voice which to me sounds a lot like baby brother Andys voice. You definitely need to check it out.Jive Talkin is a good one ! Keep On Rockin'
They used this drum track on 'Stayin' Alive' because the drummer couldn't make it to the studio. They just ran it in a loop. Most of 'How Deep Is Your Love' is their normal voices. And if you notice, Maurice is wearing the same shirt in this video as in 'How Deep Is Your Love'. 😄
I was four when this came out and I learned how to work the hifi in the living room and played the Saturday Night Fever album ceaselessly. Before I became a rocker, there were The Bee Gees and I still listen to them.
Eric Clapton worked on their new album with R&B producer Arif Mardin in Criteria Studios. The first song featuring Barry Gibb's falsetto was 1975's "Nights on Broadway".
Andy Gibb is the fourth and youngest brother. He had a pretty good solo career. I believe they had decided to make Andy a part of the Bee Gees group but he passed away just before they could make it happen. Check out some of Andy's songs. He has that distinct Bee Gees sound. He sounds a lot like his brother Barry. Try "I want to be your everything" and "Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb. You guys will love it. Love your channel guys!
Skaterink...the Rainbow in the Northside. Dancing Wheels in the Southside. And all the girls were cute and in shape. They would play this and it was a trip
1977: I was 27, living in Gainesville, Florida having grown up in Jacksonville, Florida. Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special and Molly Hatchett were local bands we grew up with. Gainesville still had a "small town" feel. The truckers called it "hippy city". The Gainesville Green Corporation and the Caribbean Underground Shadow air services were flying high.
They have other songs where Barry isn't singing falsetto. You will LOVE "Jive Talkin'" if you haven't heard it yet and "Nights on Broadway". There's also interviews with him on You Tube and there's a new documentary out on them which is excellent! They could go into a studio in the morning and come out with five songs. So talented and were the KINGS of Disco (obviously).
I was a teenager in the 70s ,they still my favorites and also Dimash😉 Love their music and harmonies♥️ Thank you😘 "To much heaven "is a super song for the harmonies they have. And yes John Travolta can dance😃
Growing up in the NYC area back then, disco and punk were battling for control of the city as both genres were at their peak. Saturday Night Fever and the Bee Gees soundtrack defined disco and set the bar. Travolta was well known by then but the movie turned him into a mega star. As a fun side journey, if you want to learn more about the craziness that was going on in NY at the time, learn about the two predominant nightclubs in the city at the time. CBGB was the epicenter of punk and pretty much every well known punk artist came through CBGB. And Studio 54 was the disco club. The stories of the debauchery that went on in 54 are legendary, surpassed only perhaps by the stories of the door policy at 54. Most people waited all night to try to get into 54 but the owners had a notoriously strict door policy and most people never got in, even celebs. Check out the song "Le Freak" by the group Chic. It was written one night because they had waited to try to get into 54 and were turned away. They went and wrote Le Freak that night. The original lyrics were "F**K OFF" referencing Studio 54, but they changed it to "Freak Out" so the song would get played.
Guys, when the DJ played this the dance floor was crowded, and we were all doing the 'routine' from Saturday Night Fever 🤣🤣 And John Travolta was way Cute😍
Obviously the movie and music is iconic and a highlight of same was the group dance routine during this song in the movie. Pure magic and disco electrified the country and the world. The rest is History
He is singing in falsetto. He talks quite normal. What a voice. One of the best of all time. Throw in Maurice, Robin and also Andy it is quite a remarkable sound. And their songs, well they are just amazing through so many years and eras!
OMG, this takes me back to when I was 19 in 1979. Me and my friends would get dressed up bell bottom pants disco shoes and head out to the clubs. ,I’ve was so much simpler then. Everyone seemed happy. I miss those days so much now.
This album was huge, I remember my mom and her friends throwing their own disco parties and dancing the night away! For my daily playlist I listen to "Lonely Nights" it's a great song!
That was their disco time/album the soundtrack for the Saturday Night Fever. But The Bee Gees we’re way much more than disco. Unfortunately that is how they got classified after this soundtrack. They wrote so many songs(for other artists) too. Many songs to pick from. Great music, great voices and a lot of love between those brothers. Enjoy the road. I’ll be here.🤗🤗
The Bee Gees were one of the hottest bands in the world when disco showed up, then they adopted it, Barry squeezed out the popular falsetto, and they became the KINGS OF DISCO.
Asia dont want to step on the bro's toes but you have eyes that could charm the birds out the trees damnnnnn! Got to level up the playing field, BJ your music sense and understanding a vibe of all genre of music is on point👌, keep up the good work guys.
It does my heart good to see young folks (like yourselves) enjoying some of the music from my generation. I am closer to the age of your parents. I grew up with the BeeGees starting back in the 1060s. They were around a while before disco was even out. To me, they made the movie "Saturday Night Fever". Without their music the movie wouldn't have been the success that it was. In just a few years past brothers Maurice and Robin Gibb have passed away. Music will never be the same. But we will always have the best memories. Asia, BJ thank you so much for sharing. Love you guys. Take care. 😉😉😉
The more reaction channels I find the more one thing stands out........MUSIC IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF LOVE ! Here i am, a 40-somerhing Irish woman, sitting in her kitchen in the countryside of Ireland, grooving along to an Australian band of brothers, with two beautiful Americans I'll never meet.........and we are ALL smiling and happy ❤❤❤ (the internet is playing it's part too 😊)
Whatever new artist that brings back disco music that sounds like that, he/she will/would be a huge star. History repeats itself, disco is waiting for someone to bring it back.
Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was all BEE GEES. That album was constantly on at my parent's house parties in the 70s. I loved it. We had such great music then.
If you ever have a couple of hours to spare, you need to watch the 1978 movie Saturday Night Fever, the ultimate for disco music! Its set in a 1970's disco in NYC at the height of disco, and the Bee Gees do mist of the songs on the soundtrack. Lots of disco dancing and John Travolta is the king of the dance floor!! I think y'all will love it since you love this song🎶🎵🎶
I was in the movie theater watching this movie, young and enjoying life. I love all of their music.
I was so lucky to born in 1970... Got see all this and hear all the 60's growing up... Thank you Momma/Daddy and my Grandparents

All that falsetto, vibrato, and dont forgot all that hair. WoW! I'm swooning!
Barry is the only one left! R.I.P Maurice, Robin, and Andy

She was spot on about the skate rink, this is the kind of music that played in the 70s and early 80s when I was a kid
When I was a teen they played mainly ABBA and Demis Rousos on a skating rink 😁
I agree A lot of The Bee Gees I was played at the roller rink
I immediately see rainbows, like immediately.
The 1st song that comes to my mind from the 70's/80's skating rink era is "Torn Between Two Lovers" by Mary MacGregor
I remember all of this great music the rinks were fun but the Disco,s were a blast miss all of it !
Their music is being heard now and guess what? Their music will be heard in the future. Their music is everlasting.
We was dancing the night away like Saturday Night Fever was, good times, lots of parents know this song now a days 💃🕺
The Bee Gees Are Amazing This Is Back In My Time We All Was Partying And Having A Good Time. 🥳 🥳🎉🎉👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🥳🥳🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
8 years old skating on a Saturday night this song is played and its magical. Thinking back on it it seems like a dream.
Sing it girl! You guys are awesome and so are the BeeGees
"You should be dancing" is definitely one to check out
She'll hear both his real voice and his falsetto in "you should be dancing"
Yes yes yes yes yes yes
Good call. All 4 of the brothers in that one
Yesssss

Ahh, the '70s. Watching John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.
It's hilarious how much I still love this song and the Bee Gees.
❤
You just can't still when the Bee Gee's come on the radio....I was out dancing every weekend in the disco era...The Bee Gee's are timeless!
I grew up in the seventies, the beegees bring back so many memories of my childhood.......love them
I was seven when this song came out. I remember as a kid roller staking to this song all the time. What a great time to grow up.
God. I love this song. Maximum Disco Feel! The Good Old Days!!
if you want to listen to all the Bee Gee's song's you will be here for a while.

The only problem with that is that they used the sound of the studio version to replace the actual live sound of the 1979 clip.

Well if Andy was part of the recording it wouldn't be a problem. Kind of deceptive and weird to show him singing and his voice is not actually in it.
Best falsetto in buisiness. How deep is your love same soundtrack really shows his voice off.
Too Much Heaven shows of his falsetto even more

Take care. 😉😉😉
You have a great disco voice Asia ! ... love you guys.
If you'll notice Barry drops the falcetto during the chorus.
Check out their concert for Saturday night fever"You should be Dancing".Absolutely great.
The more reaction channels I find the more one thing stands out........MUSIC IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF LOVE !
Here i am, a 40-somerhing Irish woman, sitting in her kitchen in the countryside of Ireland, grooving along to an Australian band of brothers, with two beautiful Americans I'll never meet.........and we are ALL smiling and happy ❤❤❤ (the internet is playing it's part too 😊)
So enjoyable watching music from the 60's and 70's discovered!! So much great music put out doing this period!
I am so glad I found you guys! You are amazing! Love your energy!!!
Barry didn't even know he could sing Falsetto until late 60s early 70s. He has a great natural voice.
