I wouldn't worry about the trolls making fun of your welds. Your not claiming to be a professional welder, and your doin it all yourself. There's a sense of pride in doing it yourself in your garage. Keep up the good work.
We are swapping one ton axles into a LJ Sport right now. The fab work on those truss kits is no joke at all!! Great job you two doing all your own work. Thera so much to be said for that.
Good job you two! I recall helping Glen on my rig when the trusses were done over 10 years ago. What a chore! To fit and cut and figure out if the clearances are good and if this fits and that fits is a real headache. But, once it's done, it's a masterpiece! Good job on the welds Ashley! And Merry Christmas. 🎅
Definitely a lot more work then we expected. Just glad we were able to notice the clearance problems before fully welding the truss on. Merry Christmas to you, Phyllis and your family!
Love the build guys!!! I’m building a one ton TJ on my channel and have ran into some of the same trials and tribulations! Best of luck with the build!!
Nice job Ashley! I wish my wife would take an interest in my Jeep building. Live in Cleveland and have a old school 1 ton CJ/YJ. Building a 1 ton LJ with a Motobilt 4 link belly pan. Hope to see you guys in Wellsville. Been wheeling there for 30+ years.
Thanks. Definitely need to get together one day. We are in Youngstown area. Sounds like your new build will be solid. We’ve gone down to wellsville a few times.
Have you considered the amount of weight your putting on the cast where you cut it away. I know that how you have to do it but the coilover is sitting right over the cut back
lol he welded it around the tube nice and hot and let it cool properly he won’t have an issue if you can’t weld then yes you will have issues major ones that’s not going to crack there freaking the guy out for nothing smh
Good job on the welding Ashley!!
She’s way better then I will ever be
So happy how our fab worked out to make clearance for the coilovers
Sure glad we were able to figure something out

I couldn’t agree anymore. Thanks for watching. This is going to be a fun build!

Nicely done!
Thanks man!

The best of our battle plans go right out the window as soon as the first shot is fired into enemy lines. Can't wait to see it on the trail.
That’s exactly it! Thanks for watching!

Are you planning on welding the truss to the cast on the diff?
We arnt planning on it. We have a few other friends that didn’t weld to the cast and they are holding up well.
I’m at that stage on mine and have noticed a few people who haven’t welded theirs as well. Thanks for the reply. Happy building!
@@hoopergaragetv608 thanks for watching. And happy building to you also.
ROCK ON!!!
Wow.

To be honest I haven’t considered it. Are you thinking that the tube will pull out where we cut the casting back?
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures the most common structural failure happens right there. The casting starts to crack and the tube comes out.
@@adamament1675 ooo wow. Good to know. I think I need to inspect our JKU sometime soon. We’ve been running that same axle for the past 4yrs.
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures I have the same axle and that’s my worry it. Luckily fusion makes a ford Dana 60 that uses the oe parts
