this sounds silly but i actually have learned so much about communicating through your videos and tiktoks. i used some of ian’s tactics with my mom (who i am really close with) during christmas and they helped turn what could have been a difficult argument into a mature discussion. i have tons to still learn but i love you both and i love your love. thanks for bringing light into a pretty dark year for a lot of us ❤️❤️

Fascinating that Ian is so instinctual on relationship dynamics, and Chris has so much self- awareness of his feelings, emotional well being and mental health.

Our relationship timelines are quite identical. As someone who grew apart from a lot of my closest friends, having these relationship talk videos is so helpful, personally. I never get to talk about my relationship or express my needs for advice from an outside eye & having you both to guide me in a good direction is just ❤️❤️❤️. Relationship goals is a myth!! I don’t know her. We only know personal goals we have in our OWN relationships, here.

My grandfather, may he rip, would also write notes at the back of every photo he takes with our family. It's very precious since it gets you to experience a memory in his lens and perspective. It's definitely a good practice. Memories fade but pictures don't, by writing what happened and how it felt on a photo basically immortalizes the memory in history.

Everyday I learn so much from you guys! When you get the chance could you maybe please consider making a bit more detailed video from when you were in long distance? Like talking about what problems the distance can create. Such as insecurities, jealousy and trust, what you did when times were rougher, fights, expressing how you feel and opening up to each other although the distance etc. This will be so helpful to me and other people that are in a LDR.
Me and my bf are 4 months together and it feels so good even though the distance in between. I was following you months before I met him, you've already showed me that these things can work and so I gave it a try! Without you idk if I'd even consider it. Thanks for that!
    Much love from Greece! 🤗

Sometimes it's hard to know about yourself when you're single because you don't have that significant other to discuss these things with you. I'm so glad you guys made this video, it made me aware more about myself, and the need for alone time. I think I used to associate more with Ian coz I'm used to be guilty if I'm not committing my time to others, but now I really value my own time coz to me, it's self-love and self-care. I need time in my own space in order to have a better relationship with everyone. Just like what Ian said 'separateness helps make the togetherness more exciting'.

I tell friends all the time when they ask me how my husband and I have managed to stay so happy after so many years (16). I tell them that it’s good to have time sort and do your guy trips and girl trips and allow your partner to do the same. It’s during those times when I find myself missing him and thinking it would be fun to do this together. When we are together again it makes me appreciate him. We also live traveling together and we both take turns planning dates or spontaneous activities.

I love this video so much! It's crazy because one of my good friend and her husband don't really understand this concept of having separate-ness. And if I say to her "oh ya he went over to his friends house to hang out" she'll say things to me like "oh are you ok with that?" And I'm like of course I enjoy my alone time. It's also hard on our friendship because I would enjoy girls nights with her but she never wants to...
Also my husband is in the navy and as much as I don't miss deployments when he was home but still connected to a ship he'd have to stand duty and be on the ship 24 hours every 6 days so he'd sleep on the ship like once a week. He doesn't do that anymore and I'll be honest I miss those night to myself because it was just a time for me to myself.

It’s crazy that this video is the first one I decided to watch of you two, I started a relationship right before lockdown happened and we got a crazy amount of time apart, while still talking constantly and doing our own thing. Now we’re starting to see eachother more frequently, but still leave gaps in between and those gaps make me feel super guilty because that’s what our relationship was before, just one long gap, so now I feel like I have to make It up to him and try to make time to be with him for at least a few hours a week, even though my schedule keeps me on the ground lol

This video encapsulates what I’ve said to my partner of 11 years (and now married spouse?!) that I will never be anyone’s “better half”. I am a full person and full self and I expect my partner to be also. And whole people have friendships and experiences outside of the main partnership (and my mental health is grateful for my personal time AND my own social time)

We all have our own personality, and Chris seems amazing whether he's being a giggly, extremely goofy, or serious because it's ALL just him being his normal self, and I feel like some of his friends could probably attest to it simply being him, which is beautiful. There's no reason to feel weird.
