- In this video Big Tractor Power is out in the field with a 473 hp 400 bu. hp JOHN DEERE S780 Combine on tracks harvesting soybeans with a 40ft Geringhoff TruFlex Razor Draper Head. This video shares the sights and sounds of harvesting soybeans in Western Kentucky. Love how attentive the dog is! Our local larger farmers use these heads. I got some great drone footage from them. Was so impressed with how it works. Love your videos!!!!
I've been told thise Gearinghoff heads do a real nice job. I see it does that now. We personally don't use them but I think we will look into them? Thanks Jason for the footage. GO BTP!!

I did not realize they use Schumacher sickles on these heads, but it makes sense with both being German companies. As soon as he said that, I was even more impressed. Can't afford anything this fancy, but any platform header I ever have will have an SCH cutterbar. They are very nice. As for the TruFlex, Geringhoff won't be winning any trophies for beauty in design, but it looks like it does a great job for what it's meant to do, and that's what really matters!
It does a nice job. I have filmed this farm in canola, wheat and soybeans using the TruFlex.
I was, being impressed until he said schumacher cutter bar. We had a massey head with it. It was horrible, we tried both fixes to solve the issues, one of them being to turn everything upside down to get closer to the ground. In the end we gave up and went to macdon. Hope they figured it out. Odds are they won't be back here. Also gave up the corn heads years ago to high of maintenance and didn't do as good of a job.
Geringhoff makes nice headers😉👍 great to hear what the operator thinks about the machines👍😁
Here in Michigan we run 2 of those heads . They are really great for low poded beans . The flexing head and cutter bar is perfect for our rolling hills and creek bottom land. We have about 3000 acres on each head this year between wheat harvest and soybean harvest . We run ours on a johndeere 9870sts and a s680 combine . Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

It is a nice farm. I have view videos of their operation on the channel. Their corn harvest is linked at the end of the video. I also have their corn chopping operation filmed and their 9570RX on a high speed John Deere disk in a video called tillage like a boss.
Man, I love to see that beanfield, no rows.... remember dad back in the 70’s was one of the first guys planting soybeans with a wheat drill, and run that JD 7720 thru those beans in the Fall like he was cutting wheat.
This farm plants their soybeans on 15 inch rows with a John Deere planter. They plant at an angle and then harvest on another angle to feed the beans in well. Some farms in the area do use drills to no till soybeans in the wheat stubble but it risks pinning straw in the seed trench. The 7720 is one of the all time great John Deere combines.
@@bigtractorpower that gentleman had a very healthy thick crop it appeared. Amazed how close it cut right ear the ground.
They are top of the line headers. We had a custom guy come in and do a farm for us. He was using a Geringhoff razor head. The way is flexes is amazing.
They are impressive to see flex. This field did not really have a spot to show the full flex.
I wouldent be supriced to sse a 60 foot version of this in the next five years. For sure the most promising technology on the market to make a 60 foot flex head.
I think honey bee just came out with a prototype or maybe it was a 50 foot
@@FabesFarmer They are developing a 60 foot airflex. Which will be exiting to see ;)
60 ft is nice but not practical is lot of farms ground isn't flat enough for them. 50ft is a problem on some fields
@@joescheller6680 Thats why you need 3 individual sections with a flexible cutterbar. It essentially gives you 3 20 ft heads, but in one combine.

For the length of the video I did not included but I did actually film it twice where it cut a limb and another time an old fence post and it just stop the cutter. It does a really nice job in harvesting.

We run a 40' Geringhoff flex draper and we love the way it works with our wheat, soybeans and grain sorghum we had it going on our 2nd season with no issues 👍🚜

These Razors will cover some ground. 30ft is good sized too.

That was really cool the beginning of the video when you have the camera right on the header as it’s cutting the beans and falling on that belt it’s a very impressive head or if that’s for sure

I looked at one of them this fall realy like the air system built into the cutter bar but i did notice the throat on it was mangled from other people demoing it,a bit lite in that area so i purchused a new deere flex head.

Did he say the tractor operator can tap into the combines auger camera to see how the load is filling?
I don’t think so. He mentioned there was a light in the grain cart to make it easier to see. Cameras do make it easier to see what is happening.

Great video Jason, not sure if Geringhoff are available in the UK but it seems to do one hell of a good job. Is the fan system on the head for dust suppression?
The TruFlex does a good job. I have filmed this header in wheat and canola as well. The air system is used for saving grain that might other wise fall out on the ground the air pushes it into the header. This air system is extra helpful in soybeans and canola where the seed pod tends to shatter.

What kind of yields they get on the second crop.
50 to 60 bu on average.

You have big combines and tractor . In our country we use tractor with hp upto 65 only and in your country you used upto 600hp tractors

In our area so many brands are there like newholland,jhondeere,mahindra,swaraj,sonalika,mahindra,Massey and in our area we use also too much old tractors there model are 1980 there brand are ford,hindustan and etc. And search on youtube if you want to see our area farming, search . Punjab farming
