Summer internships are full-time. Full-time jobs come with a contract usually so companies don't hire employees expected to go back to college after the summer. Makes sense?

@@hrushikeshchopade3347 That's pretty much the main difference. Placement is not a thing in the US, because you have to find jobs on your own. Hence, it doesn't have a large impact on jobs.
