Totally missed out on this game even if i loved x com and card games. So got it for free on epic bought the whole version with all dlcs anyway and had so much fun.
I'm holding out hope for a sequel. After the recent sales on multiple platforms especially steam both the all time and recent reviews are overwhelmingly positive. They just need to realise the game itself didn't fail it was the insufficient bad marketing that gave a false impression of the final product.
This game is amazing. It is honestly one of the best games I've ever played and I go back to the Atari days in the 80's. The love for the comics is real. I pray we get more DLC and a sequel.
I just got the legendary edition for the black Friday sale, it had a season pass and everything. I am enjoying the hell out of the game. The social part can drag on a little bit but people can't deny all the content they put in here, The best part of the game is the tactical gameplay. The release date hurt the game unfortunately and the season pass was expensive too. This game reminded me of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for Switch, There are many Marvel heroes to fight with and take on missions. I didn't know they considered it a financial failure, that sucks to hear. I would have loved to have Firaxis to do another tactical game focused on Marvel characters
No. Tactical RPGs never sell in big numbers. Want to compare sales of final fantasy tactics to the rest? How about the best selling tactical RPGs from the last year, 5 years, 10 years? But, on top of that, the out of combat friendship thing was SO incredibly bad. Combat was really, really good. But the out of combat mechanics were laughably bad.
This game is so underrated. I think people saw it was a card game and skipped it. I know I did. But they did a free weekend at some point and I was kinda blown away by how much I liked it. I say that as someone who hates card games. The cards really aren't the annoying obstacles I thought they'd be. The gameplay is quick and snappy and I don't think I ever found myself in situations where I had no options due to bad draws. Also the game is surprisingly long. Took me 87 hours to get through it. But I did all of the side quests and conversations, and a ton of the optional randomized missions. If you like superheroes or Mass Effect's social stuff do try it out. It's a lot of fun.
Game is great I got it on launch and am now doing a second playthrough with all dlc and its amazing only thing I will say is the social aspect when you have every single character can drag on on for abit so I recommend to anyone playing Google the best hangouts gifts and havens for each character so you can increase friendship quicker
Legendary edition for $34 on sale (reg $99). Over 80 hours and shooting for Platnium trophy. Great story. Fun combat. Recommend for any Marvel fan that likes Xcom style gameplay. Building friendships with the heroes was a decent distraction and helps you connect. For instance, when I first started playing, Magik and me were at odds. Then after getting to know her personality we started to bond over child traumas 😆 All the characters personalities are solid. Especially enjoyed Robbie Reyes, Peter Parker, and the banter between Tony Stark and Stephen Strange is hilarious "Dr Spooky" Don't miss out on this if you're on the fence.
got it on sale. the crashes on startup really hurt it tho. the external launcher just makes things worse. The game is fun tho, and the animations are top notch! face animations sometimes miss, but the voice work is amazing! The game borrows the social aspects from persona series, which is a good thing. If you can get the work around to avoid startup launcher problems, it is a great game. The best thing about the game is that it is really loyal to the comics/lore - the writing/story/character interactions are very well made. Another Problem I see from the negative comments is that this game plays VERY DIFFERENTLY FROM XCOM... do not expect a tactical strategy game like the xcom series, instead this game plays more like a CARD BATTLER/DECK BUILDER with some environmental/positioning bonuses - and you will know what to expect - therefore have a better time with the game.
I recently bought this game on sale from Steam, and have been pleasantly surprised. I like it more than I thought I would. It's not perfect, and I don't like some of the character choices or how some of the characters are written, but the main gameplay loops are fun for me, and the social interactions more enjoyable than I anticipated. On top of that, there's a fun exploration and crafting side of this game that I think gets overlooked in a lot of reviews for this game. It'll likely never get a sequel, because it didn't sell well, but I would have loved to see it branch off to focusing on other popular teams, like Avengers and X-men. In the end, I recommend this game to those who like superheroes, or just enjoy a fun tactical strategy game/role-playing game.
Yes I have it for PlayStation 5 and I love it I can't stop playing it so much so that I'm going to buy it on steam just so I get better graphics on my computer I hope for access does a sequel. They sold 7 million console units they didn't even report how many they sold on PC and for the company to say that it was a failure is ridiculous
Bought it at release. Kinda forgot about it. Upgraded to Legendary Edition the other day when I was looking for something to play and suddenly remembered I had it. I haven't been able to put it down since ^_^ Absolutely a hidden gem.
Im gonna try it soon, I have played game called marvel contest of champions for near decade now, perhaps you've heard of it, bigest reason I like it is sheer amount of characters, I think its at 275, its crazy that bigest marvel game is mobile only one
What a fun game. I've been spending over 200 hours on this game. Not so funny at the start but once you are more familiar to the mechanics, building decks with the right mods, the gameplay becomes very addictive.
7:22 yea the social aspect is funny soon as I discovered that i need higher friendship level to unlock their abilities i was excited but i was disappointed when i discovered i could lose friendship levels depending on the choices i pick 😅😅
The game is excellent. I admit that there is a bit much dialog for my taste (TON OF TALKING) but the characters are will written and the voice acting is solid. For fans of turn based strategy games, this is one of the best. Shame this game didn't make more $$, devs really did a great job with this one
I day one'd this game (Knowing it was Firaxis and Marvel), and though I really hated the fact that it was a Card Game, I was taken aback by just how much love and quality this game had. It made me actually enjoy Captain Marvel, Niko was actually a favorite character of mine, the conversations reminded me of the old KOTOR games way back. I plan on restarting it with all the DLC.
not just a cash cow as expected in the height of the mcu popularity, a lot of heart and love were put into making this game you can see, the attention to details were unmatched, like how each character plays so differently and how their movesets captures the spirit of these characters. this game did captain america justice, because he does feel like a shield in the game protecting his teammates.
I ended up grabbing it on sale in 2023 with all the DLC, and it ended up being one of my favorite games that year! The combat was fun, the open hub area was fun to explore, and the friendship system made me feel a deeper connection to the characters. The mod selection was nice, too. This game also has my favorite versions of Blade and Morbius. I don't think we'll ever get a Morbius like this one, and that pains me. Even though 2k considered it a commercial failure, I hope it gets a second chance! This could be the beginning of a fun new franchise!
I got this on PS5 for the Enhanced Edition for $20. I enjoyed it so much I shelled out for the Season Pass for $30. The only problem is the Season Pass wasn't on sale and retailed for $50. Even with a 50% discount, that would have put it around $25. So instead, I wound up getting the Legendary Edition to get a digital copy of the game, the Season Pass and the Legendary Premium Pack. Why did I want it physically? Because I'll still be able to enjoy the base game for a while until the game breaks and I cannot replace it AND when PS5 is no longer supported. Which won't be for easily a few years. I'd say for $50, I got a pretty enjoyable game out of it and I feel the Marvel energy coming from it. Far more than I got out of the Avengers game.
So you don't want a game that makes you use your brain when it comes to tactics. I used to hate turned based games but as I got older I realized what makes turned based games great and the story alone makes it worth it imo
Great video dude! I just purchased last week for the sale under $20 for the digital edition. I’m about 10 hours in. The game is fun to me even though i hear a lot ppl I’ve seen took a crap on this game. Even though I didn’t think i would like the turn based card style but its getting addictive but they could very well do a lot more with other marvel heroes with dlc but I don’t think they made enough money to do so. The game is coming up on a year and its been about 6 months or so since the first dlc and I don’t think they will release new dlc because of low sales
I didn't even know that was her in the New Mutant movie until Lockheed showed up 😂 that's how much I forgotten about the character. I was like this movie sucks oh wait shit that's Lockheed 😂
I love this game , I just got back into playing it cause I've been to busy with life I bought a his game a few months back and I love it , I hope to see another one of these games someday it's awesome
This game was amazing i loved every single minute i spent playing, from the exploration, to the hard battles where a boss spawned randomly. I wish they could give us an XMEN game like this one.
I never had the time to play it when it came out, finally had the time to play it just finished it tonight and fell in love hopefully they do continue the game my hopes aren’t too high but here’s hoping anyway
Midnight Sun's is the first game in many, many years that I bought all of the DLC, I didn't order the game that had that included because I thought I wouldn't want it but I did and bought each one on the day it came out. The guy may have done a Robert Downey Jr. but that was exactly the same way Tony Stark was in the Comics too. It is just that Robert Downey Jr fit the role so perfectly.
It's the best game they've ever made and sadly it failed, I love the hell out of it. For me the only downside is it has too many avengers and lack of xmen. I really rwish for a sequel but knowing that ceo's mindset it never will
Honestly, I thought that the game was a Mobile game from the original ads. I've only learned recently what the game is actually. So going to put down the lack of sales as a lack of focused Advertisements.
I never cared for turn based games, let alone strategy games. Because I'm a fan of Marvel, I considered checking it out. Suddenly, on a plain boring day, I heard rumblings through the air filled with wi-fi connections: DECK BUILDING! I noped out. Turn based games already use RNG to determine if what you select even happens. Now there's RNG in whether or not I get to choose what happens in the first place? Nah, that's more luck than skill.
I got the Ps5 on sale a few weeks ago for the Black Friday, and I got this game for 30$ with it. Also bought Remnant II for 30$ too. Both are cool. Can't wait for Tekken 8 though :D
I have all of the Dr Strange Midnight Sons, plus a few Ghost Rider ones, and I'm a huge fan of Divine Divinity 1 and 2 (there'd be a 3 but for BG 3, which I can't play on my platform}, so this looks like it'll do the trick but with all the comic book history and none of that MCU crap all watered down and wrong. You did a really good job on this, thank you. I'll play it, but have to wait first for a used hard copy, digital is a scam.
finna get it rn! its on sale the legendary edition for 30 bucks on the ps store cant beat that imo.. i played the demo when it first came out and really enjoyed it but i just forgot about it and i have to really be anticipating a game to get it at full price in todays era lol most of them are 40% finished buggy bs until 6-8 months in lol but im excited to see what its about in its entirety
I just picked up the legendary edition for £22 on ps store. I'm having a blast bit i really wish there was more combat and less chit chat. I would love another one of these with the x men cast only (way cooler than the avengers)
love the game besides some quirks and one or two mechanics that was kind of jarring coming from the xcom games including the spinoff chimera. id be down for a sequel to this or xcom 3 with some of the mechanics from midnight suns. i just miss my army dudes and dudettes running around blasting aliens or hell if they just made a original ip thats more fantasy based with swords and magics idk
Turn based strategy is a niche market it’s either a I like it or I hate it thing I love this game my friend bought it under the impression it was like ultimate alliance 😅 he did not enjoy the game
Great review, brah. I really like the game's corny dialogs, thanks to the great voice acting. I honestly believe 2K botched the marketing for this game. Like, they knew ppl will be on the fence with the card system, so why not just release a free demo for PC n consoles before the launch, let fans try it out
Enemies are always the same and the hub world bs is waaaaay too much. I'd just enjoy much more to go from mission to mission to mission... but nooo, you do one and you back at hub to talk with a dozen people and do a dozen other stuff before doing a mission again. I usually have this same problem with most of these kind of games - like Fire Emblem Engage as well. They really need to pull back on the between-mission stuff in my opinion.
yea I do like it but I can tell this game was hold back like it make no scene of bring only two hero with you and to much microtransactions that it mess up the game so if we do get a sequel, I can totally see the sequel be better like bring more hero to the filed cause there be to many time where you get outnumber and you died fast so they need let you bring 3 or 4 hero with you and your choice actually matter like if you do something fuck up your hero would leave or better yet betray you that be good and dial back the microtransactions alot then I can see Midnight Suns a great franchise
This game is really good, playing it right now actually, all the time.
Game is currently free on Epic, so it's time to watch videos on it.
Totally missed out on this game even if i loved x com and card games.
So got it for free on epic bought the whole version with all dlcs anyway and had so much fun.
This game was really awesome and super underrated in my opinion
Bought it on sale yesterday, loving so far.
I'm holding out hope for a sequel. After the recent sales on multiple platforms especially steam both the all time and recent reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
They just need to realise the game itself didn't fail it was the insufficient bad marketing that gave a false impression of the final product.
Someone in a comments section earlier said X-Men would be a great fit and I agree. Maybe.
Agree 💯
I wonder if this game could have done better if released after BG3. It got a lot of people, including myself, into the top down turn based type game.
@KWHere2 x-men would absolutely fit theirs tons of mutants with utility power that could work in this setting
This game has by far the most unique and fun gameplay mechanics I’ve seen in decades. It’s pretty dang in depth and cinematic to boot.
This game is amazing. It is honestly one of the best games I've ever played and I go back to the Atari days in the 80's. The love for the comics is real. I pray we get more DLC and a sequel.

Same, I’m just skipping all dialogue in the game and only watching cutscenes. Other than that though, I’m addicted to the gameplay
I regret not buying the legendary edition during the summer sale. Hopefully if it goes on sale again and I’m still playing I’ll pick it up.
Honestly the game only failed because it came out at the wrong time
No. Tactical RPGs never sell in big numbers. Want to compare sales of final fantasy tactics to the rest? How about the best selling tactical RPGs from the last year, 5 years, 10 years?

i just started playing it a month ago and its actually really fun. kinda regret not supporting this game when it came out
Love this game, Hope we'll get more DLCs.
Games abandoned sadly.
Then we bring it back with the power of love or something
Bought it at release. Kinda forgot about it. Upgraded to Legendary Edition the other day when I was looking for something to play and suddenly remembered I had it. I haven't been able to put it down since ^_^ Absolutely a hidden gem.
This is the best marvel super hero game ever made
Im gonna try it soon, I have played game called marvel contest of champions for near decade now, perhaps you've heard of it, bigest reason I like it is sheer amount of characters, I think its at 275, its crazy that bigest marvel game is mobile only one
What a fun game. I've been spending over 200 hours on this game. Not so funny at the start but once you are more familiar to the mechanics, building decks with the right mods, the gameplay becomes very addictive.
the mods are game breaking, having free quick or gaining concealed after ko on so many cards are so darn op.
This game is an awesome breath of fresh air... They need to learn to market and promote games properly..
Those comic cover creations were so funny :p
7:22 yea the social aspect is funny soon as I discovered that i need higher friendship level to unlock their abilities i was excited but i was disappointed when i discovered i could lose friendship levels depending on the choices i pick 😅😅
Just started playing on the Legion go.. runs well and having a great time playing it. Shame it didn't do well sales wise.
This is one of the best marvel games
Loved this game. As of this moment, I am playing it right now 100 times better than the Marvel Averages game we got
The game is excellent. I admit that there is a bit much dialog for my taste (TON OF TALKING) but the characters are will written and the voice acting is solid. I hope more strategy games will be inspired by this combat system.
I liked midnight suns im sad we won't get a sequel with doctor doom
really excellently made video my dude. always the small channels that surprise hope you grow.
Bought this game few weeks ago. Wasn’t sure if I like this type of game. But I have to say I really enjoy playing it.
It's Morbin' time.
josh keaton voiced Iron Man in the Iron Man vr game
I'm playing it right now. It's fun af. With the movie announcement and Deadpool 3, I can see this game gettin some love again
I got the enhanced edition for $20 on black friday. I love it! So epic!
Just picked this game up on PS5, loving it so far
So.... Why hasn't Michael Jai White played Blade? I mean.... This games Blade basically _is_ him.
Tried it after Epic released it for free, and now I'm addicted
I ended up grabbing it on sale in 2023 with all the DLC, and it ended up being one of my favorite games that year! I wish this was an action game…heard the story was good
So you don't want a game that makes you use your brain when it comes to tactics. I used to hate turned based games but as I got older I realized what makes turned based games great and the story alone makes it worth it imo
7 months later in july 24 itss till worth it. im having a blast but i love firaxis so.

People not knowing who Magik is blows my mind. She was so OP at one point
I didn't even know that was her in the New Mutant movie until Lockheed showed up 😂 that's how much I forgotten about the character. I was like this movie sucks oh wait shit that's Lockheed 😂
1:45 yea most definitely, that actor is doing RDJ impression for sure. 😂
So is the actor they picked for What If series. And who Capcom picked for MArvel vs Capcom Infinite. And also Lego Avengers etc
16:38 Fire Emblem: Three Houses -- think I'll pick up Midnight Suns, thanks for the video!
It’s on humble choice
Highly recommend
I absolutely love this game
Captain America on PS3 was better
I love this game! Could it be better? FOR SURE. But it's still pretty solid!
Thanks for the review, Pooopbro420.
I never had the time to play it when it came out, finally had the time to play it just finished it tonight and fell in love hopefully they do continue the game my hopes aren’t too high but here’s hoping anyway

Robbie Reyes looks stupid
Great video. I just recently got Midnight Suns for $20 during black friday. Haven't started it yet though.
It's the best game they've ever made and sadly it failed, I love the hell out of it. For me the only downside is it has too many avengers and lack of xmen. I really rwish for a sequel but knowing that ceo's mindset it never will
This game is awesome. I hope they keep adding on.
Got it last month, pretty dope. Be nice if they had hulk jumping around like venom isn't of just running. Hopefully they add more characters
They’re not going to ass any more characters. Unfortunately the game was kind of a flop… which is bad honestly because I’m enjoying it a lot
@@dami_mage damn shame
The persona games are actually really fun lol
Honestly, I thought that the game was a Mobile game from the original ads.
I've only learned recently what the game is actually. So going to put down the lack of sales as a lack of focused Advertisements.
I didn't know about the custom comic book covers, I gotta do that now!!!!
Really like this game and still putting in hours. Really wish they added Moonknight and Daredevil but pretty sure they're done supporting it
I'm still waiting on a Howard the Duck DLC myself
This game was amazing I hope it gets a sequel
This game is amazing
let's hope it hits ps+ next month. That might turn things around a bit. It is a very fun game and more people should get their hands on it.
Wished they put out more dlc. Or at least some QOL changes. It’s fun once you get going and understand the combat system.
I never cared for turn based games, let alone strategy games. Because I'm a fan of Marvel, I considered checking it out. Suddenly, on a plain boring day, I heard rumblings through the air filled with wi-fi connections: DECK BUILDING! I noped out.

Magick was in the latest X-Men movie that flopped pretty badly, played by Anya Taylor Joy. Niko was in the show Runaways.
@@brucenateleeLockheed is the only thing I remember about that movie lol😂
First I was meh. 15 in and the game is pretty cool.
I agree with this message
Convinced me to get this soon
Just got this free on osn and im habing so much fun
This is not a game i thought I would like but was pleasantly reminded of Ultimate Alliance.
The way finished😂❤
If it wasn’t a card game and was like ultimate it would’ve been the best game ever
I got the Ps5 on sale a few weeks ago for the Black Friday, and I got this game for 30$ with it. Also bought Remnant II for 30$ too.
Both are cool.
Can't wait for Tekken 8 though :D
Heck yeah book club with Blade
game is on sale.. $25 for the $99 version... 🤔 is that price and stuff worth it?
I have all of the Dr Strange Midnight Sons, plus a few Ghost Rider ones, and I'm a huge fan of Divine Divinity 1 and 2 (there'd be a 3 but for BG 3, which I can't play on my platform}, so this looks like it'll do the trick but with all the comic book history and none of that MCU crap all watered down and wrong. You can get this game for like 12 dollars now.
Do i like the game, yes ; do i think it was worth the 100 plus bucks i paid for the legendary edition pre order? Not at all
That's a you problem. No game is worth a hundred bucks you goofus.
Bought that one for 30 euro and it seems like the ideal price so far...
@wampyrelli 30 euros is a perfect price i wouldve ben happy paying that
thank you poopbro420
You got me sold at the 10 minutes mark. Well done my fellow
"My name is poopbro420--", …okay.
I enjoyed playing it but fell off need to jump back in
Awesome game. Graphics could be better on the PS5 to be fair, but other than that. The gameplay and voice acting is great. Story is decent as well.
I found the gameplay very boring

Great review, brah. I really like the game's corny dialogs, thanks to the great voice acting.
I honestly believe 2K botched the marketing for this game. Like, they knew ppl will be on the fence with the card system, so why not just release a free demo for PC n consoles before the launch, let fans try it out
The real GOTY
Gay Deadpool...That's just Deadpool.
I was hoping for something more like ultimate alliance
"Creepy Persona games"?
Why is it named Suns and not Sons? Did I miss it?
In the game, they're the midnight Suns. In the comic, they're the midnight SONS
@@Copebroo yes exactly. Why not match the comic?
@@Augcliffebecause in the plot there’s this prophecy of the Midnight Sun, hence why they merged the two names into one
