Nice vid. I have been coming here sine 1980's. At 2:20, look up and you can see where the escalator from mezzanine to 2nd floor is. Why it's not being used is beyond me. Again at 4:19, that escalator should be visible on the right but it's blocked off. I was able to peel back some of the Tint and see that escalator. WHY ARE THEY HIDING IT???
When the Claridge had a casino (which occupied most of the first 3 floors), it was extremely electric and fun. There was a tremendous amount of traffic through this place. Super busy out front with lots of cars being valeted. There were numerous great restaurants: The huge Garden Cafe on the 3rd floor, next to Lucky's bar. You had the elegant Martino's up the stairs from the 3rd floor (which even had a harp player). You had the Wok n' Roll Chinese fast food place on the 3rd floor and of course the Twenties restaurant on the 6th floor. There was also a full spa and salon on the 8th floor near the pool. There was a covered moving walkway that to you to and from both the boardwalk and the Sands hotel/casino next door. My wife and I loved this place back then, circa 1996-2000. Too much competition for Ballys I guess, so they bought it and removed the casino, then sold it to a non-casino operator. And now it is a shell of it's former self. Want life back in this place? Add a casino!
Hi few things. Garden cafe, Wok n roll, would be technically on the 2nd floor right? (considering that there is a mezzanine between lobby and 2nd?). Or I might be wrong. Twenties is still there, as is Pool, as far as I Know. See my above comment. I tried my best to explore this place back in November. Shame they are hiding their escalator. Pisses me off to no end.
@@jackwilliams5474 You are correct. I had counted the mezzanine as the 2nd floor (only 2 of the 5 elevators actually stopped at the mezzanine). Wok n' Roll and the non-smoking casino were in fact on the 2nd floor, which is also where you found the entrance to the conveyor belt walkways to the Sands and the boardwalk. Up a long escalator to the 3rd floor for The Garden Cafe and Lucky's. A half floor up from that was the showroom and Martino's restaurant.
Great video, awesome place for those who can appreciate a balance between history and luxury without needing to be razzledazzeled by the latest thing. Gotta say though, what happened to the camera? The whole second half of the video was of the floor. Haha
There’s no casino at the Claridge but there is a casino at Bally’s which is connected to the Claridge so you can walk to it from there without walking outside
@@JennyAndJayVlogs I knew it was connected to Bally's. When I stayed at Bally's in the past (Many years ago) I remember the Claridge had machines, not many if I recall. TY for the reply

@@JennyAndJayVlogs Wow, I hadn't been to AC since 2014, but we just visited recently, as we live far away now. Merry Christmas, man!

Nice Video, how did you get to the area at around 4:15 mark
Hey, thanks for watching. It was on the 3rd floor.

Does it have a Casino? or is it just a Hotel?
