- The Western Cape Missing Persons Unit has criticised how the case of missing six-year-old Joslin Smith is handled. The founder of the Western Cape Missing Persons Unit, Candice van der Rheede, says there is so much interference and distractions in the case and the main objective has been lost. It's now day 15 since Joslin Smith was last seen and there are still no solid leads. So far, police have found pieces of blood-stained clothing. She was last seen on Monday, February 19, at about 5pm in the care of her mother's boyfriend, as she was not feeling well. Later in the afternoon, when the mother returned from work, Joslin was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, police are urging the public to refrain from spreading false information as the search for Joslin intensifies. A reward has since been offered for information which could lead to Joslin being found. SAPS are not following up on leads they got 2 weeks ago. SAPS have no urgency hence Mr Gayton Mckenzie, organisations and the community of Saldanha intervened. SAPS gives no updates on developments but Mr Mckenzie does. There's international interest in this case but SAPS doesn't care 2 keep ppl informed

In America there are two cases of young girls that disappeared. Those investigators are not playing around. Two perpetrators were arrested within days of the disappearance.
I am so sorry to be this blunt but the steps that are bee taken is exactly what this country needs. If this situation was not blown out of the water as it is now, Joslin's disappearance would just be another statistic. We have no faith in the justice system anymore.

Mr Mckenzie and community , lead the police to more people that was present. (which police did not even ask or do) They also led them to so many areas to be searched. They are helping the community members as helpers. They are not there to get votes. Mr Mckenzie made calls and requested help from Government and City of Cape Town.. If he did not do it, the case would've been a file unsolved already. So from that point we must all thanks Mr Gayton Mckenzie
