Outer world-like bosses, huh. Merciful one's Shadow boss is just fuckin' perfect in design. So otherworldy, heavenly-like yet radiates elegance. This feels like JRPG bosses lol.
Man this boss fight is almost perfection. If i have to nitpick one thing though... I wish she had better battlefield. With such an epic OST and cosmic intro/design, i expected something more ethereal than just "brick ground".
You can understand the bosses in one or two tries if you just watch his moves and dodge, the second try is to see what moves they do when you attack too much, which are usually two or three at most

I like to think lee was actually fighting the air lol, as if like, her avatar is only a way for us the espectator to even see a bit of what's going on, but this higher being was only using her energy to fight lee. Its hard to deal with this kind of theme for the designers because how can we possibly represent something which escapes our comprehension. Even tough we can logically understand it thanks to our intelect, there's the other kind of comprehension which comes with experience, and we cant experience another dimension. Thats where religion and old books come to help as theres registers of this kind of manifestation on earth but artists themselves stil have a looooot of freedom when dealing with this kind of character

Big spoilers here From what I understand she is some kind of "goddess" a superior being, she is the one behind the punishing virus itself, the punishing virus is something like a filter to pull the human potential, if humanity loses the virus it will devour everything and make a new species and this species will be something like an evolution... if humanity defeats the virus, it shows that humanity can evolve even more by themselves, and show that they have the capacity for much more Lee defeated the twins, who are kind of the representation of the incarnation of the virus, seeing this she decides to test Lee's power to see if he really is capable. I can be wrong, but that was what i understood.
Lee is fightng with the shadow of the merciful one, she is testing humanity potential to evolution with lee, let's say that he needed almost 240 tries in another timelines to be able to defeat her and all those failed tries became a boss guide. And before this fight Lee just straigh up murdered the twins for good with the power of hatred for what they did to liv

@@stormmonster you mean the difficulty selector in the menu? PGR doesnt have that in story, only in challenges. In story you use preset character with same stats. They are generally easier than challenges mode (but stilll challenging). Pain Cage and Warzone difficulty scales up with ranks. Babel Tower lets you to customize difficulty using risks and handicaps. Norman has normal and expert difficulty
