The trim piece does not need to be modified. I have the same unit, the way to install the piece is to slide it in upside down, and then flip behind the lip of the unit. Works like a charm every time.
This system seems to run super smooth. It didn't stutter at all. I'm not a fan of a huge screen in the middle of 01-06 cars but this is by far the best option and the price is very reasonable. Big tv -> 700 euro dynavin
Have this same one in my E46. Its legit. Was waiting forever on the Avin unit, but this one is actually much better in my opinion. Been installed since April and still works amazing.

Clean man. It's weird that it doesn't look that out of place on an E46. Sometimes new tech just doesn't fit the E46 right. Is there a way to read OBD2 and get things like water temp, oil temp, oil pressure , etc.?
Colyers Thanks dude! Yeah I love it. And yes you can get an obd2 adapter, and also Torque Pro or Carly for BMW and see error codes and monitor on the go!

I have some questions: In the amazon video they say that you need a DAB+ USB reciever to use the DAB function. Is there a slot left on the back of the unit so that you can hide this stick? The stick is probably not included, right?ss How good is the GPS signal? The reciever is inside of this thing underneath a lot of metal and wires. How good is the tire preassure monitor? There should be sensors included. Are these just screwed on the valves? How do they look and are they secured by another screw? There is also an OBDII system included. Does this use the OBD Slot all the time?
@Dylan-jl6ny nah the main unit was fairly easy to do, I've done a few. Backup camera depends on what kind of camera you got, what body style you got, I had coupe, and hoe nice you want it to look. Running the wires was a bit of a hassle but not bad. A bit of finesse is needed.
Keep an eye out, as I will also be doing a video on this very unit, but with a ROOTED and Custom Rom on it. The Malaysk Rom really changes everything about this unit, and makes it sooooooo much more functional. And I hope Daniil will also put out his update very soon as well. We all need as much content as possible to make these units the best they can be.
If you have an E46, there is two storage compartments. Take out the top one, and leave the one with the ashtray. The AC goes where the other compartment was, above the ashtray. Then the unit goes above that.
Don't know if it's my headset, my phone or the video but i can hear kinda like a snow-ish sound. But other than that, i would say this is a solid video and review :D

Buttons don’t worn on the steeering wheel, sound dosent work, speakers shorting out , screen is very good tho, Bt connection is amazing , overall it’s a pain in the Ass

Also, this one is easier to use the touch screen at the top of the unit, where the other one had a lip over it, which made it hard to see, let alone use those icons. This one is much better.

@@nyce46 My power and ground cables look fine. And they installed in the harness. It doesn't change functions all the time, only once in a while. But it does seem to do it more when I am slowing down or turning. Any other ideas? The people at the company are useless.

I figured out that if you remove the left trim pin the trim piece can rotate 90 degrees and slightly to the left. I installed the head unit, vent and trim at the same time. Use a thin, long Philips screwdriver to tighten the left mount screw. Then do the right mount screw. Finally put the trim pun back on and put it in the dash clip. Not easy, but no cutting needed

I just bought one similar for my car, and today I tried mounting it on board. Here, I encountered a problem: the left side does not end up in the slot because it reaches the fan casing; the unit is too long; without the FM antenna, the GPS antenna and the WI-FI antenna it goes to the limit, but with the mounted antennas the unit does not go all the way; it seems like the unit is too long. Have you encountered a similar problem with yours? I do not know what to do, to make it fit in. Regards!
Mihai Cozma That’s odd, no I did not have that issue. If you see my other video on my channel about how I install a Apple CarPlay adapter, you could probably skip out on WiFi, GPS and the radio wires. I never use my headunit without CarPlay, it’s a game changer. It also works with Android Auto(if you have android)
Nice vid Daniil, a few questions for you? In your M3 you had the GPS unit with the Harman stereo? If so, when you connected the unit using the cable that matches for the CAN BUS cable, did your subwoofers still worked or only the front and back speakers only? The reason I ask is because I remember reading that some features are by passed since the aftermarket unit can't utilize all of the features from the original. I have an M3 and been wanting to do the same as you. Anyway looks really nice!

Question for you on the unit. Loving it so far, but a shortcoming seems to be the local navigation software install (i used Sygic) volume level is super low. I even went into the systems settings and adjusted the system volume (code 126) to 20. Still if the radio is on the turn by turn volume is sill low. I would have hoped that it would have been louder and/or muted the audio or at least rune it down so you could hear he nav insurrections. Not sure if you have run into this and what you did to resolve it.
Figured it out!!!! You need to select the default navigation software (in my case Sygic) and then set the navigation volume to either switch our mix. You also need to be sure the system volume is set as I did above.
It's nice, but I still prefer the one with the physical dials, cause lowering your volume with a button while driving for instance, is much easier than doing so on the screen. Especially if you are on a bumpy road.

Looks good in the e46 dash. They sell these for E39 too, but I haven't seen one with a flat surround (rear section) yet. The curved dash one suits E46, E53, etc. How's the backlight match at night as far as amber colour goes?

I had a android radio for about a year now. Love it except the damn Equalizer sucks balls on the first gen. Looking into upgrading to a bigger screen and new software. The first gen dont let you upgrade software.

You don't have to alter the trim. You just have to put it in upside down, and then rotate it into position. I never cut mine, and it looks just fine.

I installed one of the Eonon units in my son's 325 and, personally, I thought it sounded like crap. No way I was putting one in my car! This head unit LOOKS nice, but if it doesn't sound good then what's the point, other than looks?

Is that a custom steering wheel? And nice head unit! Definitely going to be ordering one. They might have a newer version out now! I’m having issues with my trim pieces! Do you think ordering new clips (Red) will help with the trim clicking in better? I just ordered some of AliExpress
The steering wheel is a custom wheel wrap/cover. You can check my other video called “E46 FIRST MODS” and I show how I wrapped the wheel. And yes the new clips should help a lot. Good luck dude

I just bought one similar for my car, and today I tried mounting it on board. Here, I encountered a problem: the left side does not end up in the slot because it reaches the fan casing; the unit is too long; without the FM antenna, the GPS antenna and the WI-FI antenna it goes to the limit, but with the mounted antennas the unit does not go all the way; it seems like the unit is too long.
Have you encountered a similar problem with yours? I do not know what to do, to make it fit in. Regards!
Mihai Cozma That’s odd, no I did not have that issue. If you see my other video on my channel about how I install a Apple CarPlay adapter, you could probably skip out on WiFi, GPS and the radio wires. I never use my headunit without CarPlay, it’s a game changer. It also works with Android Auto(if you have android)
Nice vid Daniil, a few questions for you? In your M3 you had the GPS unit with the Harman stereo? If so, when you connected the unit using the cable that matches for the CAN BUS cable, did your subwoofers still worked or only the front and back speakers only? The reason I ask is because I remember reading that some features are by passed since the aftermarket unit can't utilize all of the features from the original. I have an M3 and been wanting to do the same as you. Anyway looks really nice!

Question for you on the unit. Loving it so far, but a shortcoming seems to be the local navigation software install (i used Sygic) volume level is super low. I even went into the systems settings and adjusted the system volume (code 126) to 20. Still if the radio is on the turn by turn volume is sill low. I would have hoped that it would have been louder and/or muted the audio or at least rune it down so you could hear he nav insurrections. Not sure if you have run into this and what you did to resolve it.
Figured it out!!!! You need to select the default navigation software (in my case Sygic) and then set the navigation volume to either switch our mix. You also need to be sure the system volume is set as I did above.

Do the wheel Buttons still work the Same way?
It's nice, but I still prefer the one with the physical dials, cause lowering your volume with a button while driving for instance, is much easier than doing so on the screen. Especially if you are on a bumpy road.
Just use the volume button on your steering wheel

Looks good in the e46 dash. They sell these for E39 too, but I haven't seen one with a flat surround (rear section) yet. The curved dash one suits E46, E53, etc. How's the backlight match at night as far as amber colour goes?
You can match it perfectly, or have it change colors randomly.

Try contacting the company for the radio. There may be an extra wire you missed.

I had a android radio for about a year now. Love it except the damn Equalizer sucks balls on the first gen. Looking into upgrading to a bigger screen and new software. The first gen dont let you upgrade software.
