Have some fun with it Marty!! Not sure it's place in the hobby yet but it is a fun technology, wildly different and challenging all at the same time. We made it to run the first plastic chassis brushless slot car in the Michigan 24 also to our knowledge in the world for 24 hours. Then share that knowledge with everyone else looking to tinker with this wild west tech that is invading our space.
Greg! It’s an exciting time to be in the hobby! Thank you for your forward thinking and R&D! Progression is part of every hobby. I may or may not have installed it last night 🤷🏻♂️
Happy Saturday Marty. Literally stepping of into the wikdblue yonder. That brushless will be very interesting..MaddP those Mav bodies are wild.. Way to go... HAVe fun Marty!
G’day Marty, first cars have special place, great memories, mine was an Aussie xb gs falcon ute, wild times which eventually ended up in a tree while in a drunken stuper. Ahh to be young. Cheers and can’t wait to see the maverick finished.
Cool stuff! I was thinking an ultralight body for carrera cars would be a great thing. I ran one of my carerra 917's with no body and it was a good 3/4 second faster per lap easy......a super thin vacu formed body that would fit a few carera cars................Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm or 3D print which ever is lighter.
Saturday Morning Two Lines Coffee Time - Both the motor pod adaptor and the Maverick body with very nice gifts from the guys. I am looking forward to your Maverick build. I look forward to trying out a brushless motor in the future. Agreed - I do think it is here to stay, but until the cost comes down I think brushed motors will remain dominate the home us tracks. I defiantly what to try one, but with quality $12 motors like Predator 25K brushed motors will be around for many decades to come. Thanks for another Saturday morning video!
Thanks Chris! I agree, but eventually the price gets to a point that it’s easy. I would say it is similar to the 25k motor in performance. But it’s half the weight.. which is crazy.
@consco3667 the benefits are longer lasting, more consistent, and very low variance from motor to motor effectively making all of them a "golden sample". With a brushed motor you are dealing with direct contact with "brushes" that wear over time. Where as a brushless motor has no brushes and rides on a ball bearing allowing for less frictional resistance, lower heat output, and more longevity. On top of that, brushless is 3 phase so they naturally have smoother operation and better effective torque output.
@@consco3667the main idea is you buy the 1 brushless motor for a car and it keeps running without burning out compared to buying multiple brushed motors that not only vary in performance from motor to motor but also have a drastically shorter life span. In testing we haven't burnt out a brushless motor yet that wasn't do to install errors. (Those windings are easy to short if the screws touch them!)

There are some fantastic people in this hobby! What a great gift! Can’t wait to see those Mavericks turning laps!
You and me both! I could not agree more Dave!
Watching your video this morning. And I like both car bodies. Can't wait to see what they look like. Have fun building your cars.
Should be fun Gary!
They’ve come up with a really smart solution with those adapters. Will be interesting to see what cars you use the brushless in!
It is super easy to install.. the Thunderslot Elva gets first try…
That is so awesome! Love those Maverick bodies! Would love to see a step by step on how you prep and paint the Maverick. Very cool box also.

Glad everything arrived ok. Can't wait to see them on the track.
Rob, they are awesome!! And the box is very cool! I can’t thank you enough!
Love the decals!

At least you are still around to tell the story! Loved my Maverick!
65 mustang that older brother and I rebuilt!
Hey Marty good show !
Thanks Tom!! Good stuff coming!!
very cool Marty,
Chris, thanks for tuning in!
That box looks like a perfectly sized box for a controller!
😂
Awesome Marty!! They look good.
Tadd! I see a Maverick Showdown car coming soon! 😂
@@twolinesslotcarsOh yeah, would make a good one!!

It is sweet!

Was just going to ask, what advantage does the brushless motor bring to the table? Weight is important but are they faster?

@@COE-Ender thank you for the explanation. Where are they available at? I would like to see the cost difference! Again thanks 🙏
Those will be fun builds.
I agree Greg!
Try it in the Revo! I bet the Revo will not have that much magnetic attraction.
I am not seeing a lot of magnetic attraction..
But I will try it in a number of cars
Hi Marty, what price is the beushless motor you tested?
velocityslotracing.com
$70 US for everything you need. Motor, adapter and speed control.
Watching this a little late. Had to help an older neighbor lady with some electrical work!
That is awesome! Thank you for serving your neighbor!
