    The trap tips so slowly that it doesn’t even startle them at all. They just ride it down. Great video!

    Imagine those trapped mice when they saw the Opossum coming. I bet that they even could smell it before its entrance. Horrifying, and great for me to see it.

    I like the rat trapping videos best because of the challenge they present. When a small rat gets caught in made-for-mouse type traps that's an added plus for the invention. I've watched your Uhlik Repeater video a couple of times and I am amazed that so many rats can't outsmart it.

    The big advantage of the magnetic one is tha they use refigerator magnet material, which is built to have a strong but very close-range magnetic field. When it lets go, it lets go all the way.

    Opossums are awesome critters! Very timid and only look ferocious, they get rid of vermin and ticks. ***North America's only marsupial animal ( carries young in front pouch like a kangaroo)

      Opossums will eat anything. They will eat pet food and even other dead opossums and anything in between when they are hungry.🙂

    Seems to work well.
    I was afraid the rat was going to jump out of the bucket, glad it never made it.

    I love the traps but what I really look forward to are the times the local wildlife enjoy their "treats" as we don't have such critters here in our urbanized country.

    In my garden I catch about 60 mice a year with 3 traps. Nearby grows a jungle of blackberry bushes. The dead mice are taken by a bird of prey.

    We’ve had very good success with 5 gallon animal buckets filled a little over halfway. The juvenile rats try to drink and fall in and don’t make it out.

    Shawn, do you have any recommendations for catching really smart attic rats? Snap traps with peanut butter just doesn't work :(

      I'd like Shawn's input too. I fought roof rats a few winters ago in a condo but was pretty lucky as far as identifying/limiting points of entry and placing Victor/TomCat rat traps in direct path.

      I've watched this channel for years, and it's almost impossible to catch smart, adult rats.
      Maybe the Uhlik Repeater, about the only thing that might work. Go watch Shawn's video on that trap.

      You gotta outsmart them prepare some classic snap traps unactivated for a few weeks, this will make them comfortable around it and one night prepare all of them. This has worked for me but you need to be patient some of them are so intelligent it amuse me.

      Exclusion work, yes. Have any/all openings sealed off, esp in attics, crawl spaces, uncapped pipework, etc. Twin Home Experts is a YT ch that shows what they look for (incl sniffing exhaust pipes/vents & crawl spaces, & doing smoke tests). Shawn Woods, Joseph Carter the Mink Man, & Twin Home Experts all have excellent advice in their respective approaches to rodent problems.

      Try bacon as a bait, put it in the trap and heat it with a cigarette lighter, makes it super smelly

      Use multiple snap traps. Good ones. The more the merrier. Motion camera's like Shawn's work well to give You the heads up. Electric mouse trap like the victor model is good for the squeamish.

      Go watch any of hundreds of Twins rodent control videos on their channel. Rule #1, you HAVE to find their entry points and seal all those up. THEN you trap whatever population remains inside.

    Not liking the kind of sharp-looking edge on that cover, looks like it might strip mice's tails if they fall at just the right time with their tail next to it. That sheet metal could use a folded-over edge to eliminate the possibility.

      Anything that kills without suffering would be humane. A 410 is humane unless you choose to blow each leg off before killing it.
