Loved this video , glad Gosport train station been saved . But not how it should have been originally due to hindsight of Mr Beeching .we will have to spend millions on travelling maybe we should bring back trams who knows what the future holds .Thanks for sharing

Closure of this line was nothing to do with Dr Beeching.

I recall going on a Brockhurst junior school trip from Brockhurst station to Lyndhurst in the New Forest I think 1949. Similarly Brockhurst to London 1952 (could that be to London Waterloo? I cant be certain now).
Brockhurst station was featured in the 1955 colour film "The Cockleshell Heroes" The recruits had to get their way back to base undetected and one of them hitched a lift on a truck and on arrival at Brockhurst Station was met by the CO! One of them hitched a lift and on arrival at Brockhurst Station was met by the CO! The station showed in the background.
The first traffic lights in Gosport controlled the rail bridge in Brewer's Lane.

@@peterwhitear7716 Rush hour into and out of Gosport is a killer, having a railway would have certainly helped the congestion, but no.... they ripped up the track and replaced it with a bus way, what a missed opportunity.

Loved your GOSPORT video. But please note the SR badge you use is not British but is the Southern Railway of the U.S.A. ! Peter D. CHRISTIAN

I know it's a USA 🇺🇸 Southern Railways logo, but I thought it just looked nicer than the early BR Southern Railways logo, I wanted the presentation to be as true to form as possible, but with a little bit of added colour to grab everybody's attention without boring everyone to death, it was never meant for viewers to go through it with a fine tooth combe trying to find fault in every little detail.
If you liked it just enjoy it or otherwise don't watch it.

Great video, I was there a few days ago. A few observations. I don't understand why the emblem of the Southern Railway (now part of Norfolk Southern) of the the United States was shown, nothing to do with Gosport or the Southern Railway in the UK. In the list of locos that ran on the line the number 76227 is given, there never was a loco with this number in the 76000 Class. The final comment about Dr Beeching is in error, he had nothing to do with the closure of this line. As the programme itself says passenger services ended in 1953, that was ten years before the Beeching Report! Goods services ended in 1969 by which time Beeching was long gone. Line closures were the responsibility of the government, not Beeching. Also if you actually look at the Beeching Report (1963) the Gosport line is not mentioned, only shown as a freight line on the maps, no mention of it or closing it is made in the report. Punctuation needs sorting, there are no apostrophes in plurals, locos not loco's. Also, belonging to 'it' is 'its', not 'it's' which is short for 'it is.'

The only reason why the USA Southern railway badge was used was because I liked it, you don't need to worry about it, you may also have noticed that the Southern Green signs were also used, not trying to deceive anyone, just making the video stand out a bit, so well observed, it was intentional.
