One thing you missed on the double line pull. When you tighten the bow shackle onto the pulley block, you need to back the pin off half a turn to make it easier to undo after the recovery.

That also applies to gas cylinder taps too, you should always turn the valve back half a turn. This stops people thinking that it is turned off and over stressing the valve trying to turn it on when it is already on.

Best advice mate! Been using winch rope from Miolle, and i think this brand is definitely recommended. This winch rope is perfect for my needs. Light, strong and safe. Used it to replace the steel cable on a brand new Polaris 2500 winch for the ease in handling and the added safety in the event of cable failure.

4:20, false. you actually get max pulling power when you are on the first layer of rope, most reputable winch manufacturers recommend minimum 8 wraps or about half of the first layer.

I do NOT understand the theory behind this.
Would you be so Kind to briefly explain Please ??
      Thank You.
      Regards.

@@tpv59 8 wraps of rope around the drum provides enough friction to stop the rope slipping off. on the first layer directly on the drum per rotation the winch is pulling less rope in allowing it to apply more power as the force is spread over a shorter distance.

      THANK YOU sir.
      GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I still have to get my head over it.
To me, it would make NO difference if the winch had one layer of rope on the drum or ten layers of rope on the drum. (but I am Obviously wrong)
I will obviously have to give it a GOOD think.
THANK YOU Very Much for taking the time to reply to me.
      Regards.

As you say stall out your winch basically over loading it's pulling power how would I know if I need a double line pull without pushing the winch to the point it stall out

You just have to assess the situation. if your vehicle is very heavy, the terrain is very steep or the mud you are stuck in is very deep, er on the side of caution and use a double line pull.
