    Some fantastic information (as usual). Just following your * Hobby Income Course* and I must say, I have been pursuing many income making systems on the internet over the last 10 years (yes, sad but true :( ) and your Hobby Income course has to be the simplest and most comprehensive course I have EVER taken. What has amazed me most of all is that you have eliminated all the BS and packed some very powerful information in only 9 lessons!!! Great Work, I really appreciate your information, credit where credit is due!

    Of course, you can make it with $1k in the DR, but ask yourself, does moving to another country on such a low budget make sense? Relocating should enhance your life, and not become a survival training, right? Anywhere you move, you should be able to enjoy your new life, not struggle.

      @Kricke87 2 ปีที่à¹à¸¥à¹‰à¸§

      I kind of agree to this comment. Maybe not tripple, but at least double the amount.
      The apartment that is mentioned in the video, and you can clearly see on the picture on the website that the "original price" is $630/month for this apartment. Currently as of now it's $21/night. Something you have to realize with the rent for Airbnbs and other similar apartment services during 2020/2021. Because of the pandemic and almost no tourists coming to the DR at least during 2020. The landlords had to lower their prices to at least half or even more, to be able to rent it out to mostly dominicans living in Santiago or Santo Domingo. So an apartment that pre/post pandemic would cost at least $700-800 is would during 2020 and first half of 2021 would be "rebated" to half or even lower.
      Then from living here for 10 years, I can say, that very few dominicans would give any kind of discounts, just because you would rent a place for longer periods. There is hardly any difference from renting 1 month or 12 month. They have their set prices for a stay during a couple of days, vs monthly. But trying to negotiate any higher discounts if you stay longer than 1 month, is from personal experience pointless.
      I've been living here for 10 years and for the past 3 years I've been paying around $250 for an unfurnitured apartment, and that is without any utilities. Electric bill is around $35-40 during winter and around $80 in summer, when using AC and so. 5$ for water, Internet $100 (but I have high internet speed, you can get lower speeds for as low as $10/month)
      Don't really know why you say that Puerto Plata is NOT a tourist town, as it SO much is. I don't know if you were here during 2020, and because of the pandemic and the curfew rules, there weren't that many tourists. But Puerto Plata is a tourist town, and is currently being inundated by tourists. Yeah it's true that the majority are Dominicans, but that could be said about the country as a whole.
      Presidente bear for $0.7? Where? For the past couple of years a small bear in any normal store has been around $1 or even more (local price for a small can has been about 60-80 pesos and the dollar is currently at around 57 pesos for 1 dollar), and the "big" one has been for around 130 pesos, so that's $2.
      Groceries, well I've been living here for 10 years, and in my family we are 4 people. Me, my wife and our 2 kids, one is a teenager. And I've hardly any month spent less than $1000 on groceries and food in general, and that's included restaurant visits about once a week.
      The $40 per week for eating out for two people, yeah that's possible, but it all depends on where and how much you eat. Sometimes you can even share meals, especially during lunch, where they in many local Dominican restaurants serve a big meal for about $5-6 that 2 people could share.
      But if you are planning on not eating in these establishments, but rather looking for "traditional" restaurants, expect to spend at least around $20 per person.
      So yes, you COULD live her for around $1000/month, I mean the minimum wage here in the DR is around $200-300 and people seem to work that out. But if you are thinking of retiring and living a comfortable life here, expect about $800-1000/month per adult. So if you are a couple, expect around $1500-2000. As one thing that has not been mentioned is longer travels, for example , you wouldn't want to be here for years and ONLY see Puerto Plata. You would want to explore other parts of the country, so how do you do that? Rent a car? Buy a car? Using other arrangements?

      It felt relatively safe to us, but you have to use you common sense. Here are my thoughts on safety in general: vagabondbuddha.com/how-to-travel-the-world-safely/

      @@VagabondAwake Thanks so much! 20 years ago I would take off during the days & go exploring while my then husband was working, like in Isla Margarita, Venezuela, go have my adventure, be back at hotel by 5 or 6 to get showered & ready & then dinner with his client's & then disco til 5 AM, sleep til 7 AM then go again. I walked to & from the disco & the guards knew I would be coming in after the disco closed & watch for me, but that was back in 1998 & I felt safe the entire time I was by myself. Now in 1999 a guy in Paris plucked me out of the middle of 4 women I was walking down the street with going to the big flea market & next thing I knew I was in back of a leather store on a stool & I have absolutely no idea how that happened! I miss traveling soo much & now can afford to do it again with your tips! If Venezuela ever settles down, I would suggest Isla Margarita an island off the coast but still a part of Venezuela, I had the time of my life there but I understand it's still too dangerous to return there, which is such a shame, beautiful country with beautiful people being run by a sociopath. I loved to do some tourist things but also get to know the people. Back in the 90's I was a petite little blonde who spoke Spanish fluently so I had no problem in Latin America. Have a beautiful, Blessed & exciting day!

      I wish I chose to visit Puerta Plata over Santo Domingo. The prices in the DR are double or more than the mainland countries. Personally, I'd rather stick to Central and South America. I always feel like I have a target on my back when I'm in the DR.
