You can't hear it change over to LIFT. I had this car and the best part about it was hearing that change. Who cares that it can tach that high if there's not a difference. It's called lift for a reason. Variable Valve Timing with LIFT and intelligence... That's what makes it special.
With an engine like this I'd aim for strong torque since 3.000 rpm, peak power at 7k and fuel cut at 7.700 to avoid stressing it too much for little gain.
This old fellow has a mint xrs that lives near me and he drives it so lightly I’m sure it’s far less then 100k miles. I should make him an offer on his “normal” corolla
The 05-06 model years are the XRS's to get, featuring the same engine as the Lotus Elise. Anything after and Toyota stuck a plain old Corolla engine under the hood. Nothing special. For those 2 years however, the XRS was a special car
@@datboi8442 Unfortunately no. The 2010 XRS has a 2.4 Camry engine. If you want the 2ZZ-GE engine like the one featured here, you need a 03-06 Matrix XRS, an 05-06 Corolla XRS, 03-06 Vibe GT, 2000-04 Celica GT-S, or a lotus Elise (not sure on the years).
2009 corolla 2010 corolla and some of the newest corollas use the 2ZR-FE N/A engine with 120 to 140hp stock, but not only do they sound good, lotus supercharged one and threw it on a lotus Elise 💀
Now this is a car Forza and other racing games could use! But nope, sticking to all those cars that nobody has ever heard of. I mean seriously, who knew about Hillman Imp, or some random 1930s Ford that was another car excavated from ancient ruins? Also this XRS sounds fantastic!
@@altonb93 Believe me, a lot of people would want to drive underrated daily drivers in Forza. 😉 It'd be the needed change for the series instead of sticking with content for kids (Fortnite-like mode, Hot Wheels etc)
It would be nice if you make a few clips with the 2 different ecu tunes and the stock ecu . But from a standstil and put down, that way peeps can see the low end response between all the ecu"s 🖒 btw the car sounds insane and moves really well 🔰
How do you like the r9k tune? I have a ronnie tune on my 05 Matrix XRS. I had the tune done before I got my PPE Exhaust header though. I have a Injen CAI, Catback exhaust with 2.5" tubing and resonator delete, PPE Exhaust header and a Ronnie tune right now. Which one do you prefer? Im going to be doing bracket racing at the drag strip here this year. Thanks.
AllFromA_Phone Ok cool. Would you say its worth spending the extra money to go from a Ronnie tune to a R9K tune? Or would that money be better spent on something else?
Hey did you have any issues with your car running lean on the Ronie tune?I had my car dynoed Friday and my air/fuel ratio is 16+ and my power curve is kinda funky.
Hey props on the car/build, I've always loved these XRS models. Great content! Pardon me if this is found elsewhere but you have too many videos to watch at once, I'm just curious of your starting (stock) vs. current (modded) hp or estimated hp numbers. Post if you have them, thanks and watch out for Fiestas!!!
BluestreakCorollaXRS Yes. You can run a torsion/helical LSD from TRD, Quaife, or Mfactory. Or a clutch type LSD from Kaaz or Cusco. I put a Quaife helical in the Eagle Talon I had and it made a huge difference in traction.
Zach Brandt that's awesome I hope they're not too expensive. When I got signed off to run with the Audi club last month, the coach kept saying, "Damn, this thing wants a diff something fierce!". I'm constantly having to work on preventing wheel spin at the track.
BluestreakCorollaXRS I haven't tracked mine yet, but I have to do a clutch so I'm going to put one in when I drop the trans. I'm probably going to do the Cusco 1 way clutch type. I read they engage more aggressively than the helical which makes them better for the track. I might run rallycross as well and helicals will go open once you lift one of the drive wheels. You can get a Cusco for $750 or so.

It is very rare to look up a pull video of a car and to come up on someone actually driving their shit like they stole it. beautiful driver mod
true that
No it isn't
DAMN! I’m just seeing this video now and holy crap…makes me resent my CE and really want an XRS lol
Makes me hate the S and im faster than CES🤣
With an engine like this I'd aim for strong torque since 3.000 rpm, peak power at 7k and fuel cut at 7.700 to avoid stressing it too much for little gain.
Wow. I had no idea this car even existed. Never thought I’d say it but, I want a Corolla now. May not be the fastest but that looks too fun.

Sounds nice! Just bought me a 05 XRS last April...love it!
Bought my 05 last April too haha
@@JOROM90 here in February... Im really happy with my Xrs.
Bought an 06 this week
Picking it up in 5 days.
Very lucky!
Gotta keep a quarter tank or less than half a tank of gas when it's time to play, that's free weight reduction
Ton M yup
1:10. Damn that VVTL-i kick in punched me in the face!
thats fast
Love that sound on a corolla

I thought they put a lotus engine all the years they made the car?? I have my eyes set on a beautiful 2010 xrs.

Hey I wanna make my car run like it’s how do I tune it better rn my car is holding back
Sounds sick.
Yo.... that thing eats man! Sick!
shit sick af bro
Nice
Let her warm up a little the cars motor just takes more of a toll no power difference plus lift won't engage unless the car is warm
Wtf...? It’s a monsters!!! 👍
I’m looking at a xrs and got a few questions on what to look out for is there anyway I could contact you

HawkEye - I would say that the r9k has better bottom end response. And his tunes are a little more mod specific

gray25xt I don't have any stock pulls the closest to stock I have is one of my first videos..just an Intake..i kept the car stock for about a week.lol
gray25xt with just and intake I dynoed 161 whp now I'm guessing I'm in the 190ish range
cool
props for figuring all this out the way you have, not the easiest car to mod and not exactly mod friendly but you've done very well
Hell yea takes off pretty good
Quem veio pelo backstage dá um like para eu ver mesmo não e para eu ter like
Great video man.
not even @ operating coolant temp ? for fuck sakes
check and replace coolant or air temp sensor and wiring
Damn, your XRS is pretty fast 😳
Wow I'm looking for one ...
Look for a Pontiac vibe gt. Same platform.
Kurt Hillemann no
Could you tell me where i can get this awesome optitron?
What exhausts are you using on your car
My xrs only goes to 6500 rpm why is that?
What year is it
AllFromA_Phone i think it’s cuz it’s a 5spd
What year is your xrs..there are two different versions
AllFromA_Phone 06 i think

when they were rev limited to 8600rpm in japan they made about 190 max.
Sei que tá cheio de gente aqui pelo Backstage 👀
Wtf!!!!! 😲😲😲😍😍💪💪💪💪
holy shit, I want one c:
Bye bye oil pump
I regret not getting a xrs
that engine is cold !!!
thank you for your concern :)
The oil was hot enough for lift to activate, so it was ok 👍. These cars ecus will not allow you too hit lift and rev limit is 7k when cold.
VTEC kick in..........sorry~
it looked like he was breathing hard when he reaches 8k rpm lol
Nice bro
Do you have a racing clutch in that?
BluestreakCorollaXRS fidenza flywheel and a fidenza v2
Looks stock
Niceeeeeee!!!
B18 vtec killer
UnKwn Yaaj for sure a most
XRS is a pretty unique car and I wouldn't mind having one but I doubt it's a B18c killer.. has way more aftermarket support
