Matt, the reason I haven’t subscribed yet is because I don’t 100% understand your fade method. I like tutorials simple enough to memorize. Also, when you adjust your lever, I need to know exactly when you do it. You mention that you do it but I don’t see exactly when. I have a little bit of a hard time following the videos and get lost sometimes. Last, I also like when teachers explain WHY they do things. For example I don’t understand why some barbers go from making a zero line and right after do a 1.5. Anyways, you’re a great barber, I like your videos and I’ll keep watching, maybe subscribe soon.

Shouldn't be trying to copy his method!! You watch the good barbers for tips on certain things you might not fully understand yet !! But always have your own style!!

Not a criticism Matt, just an observation. Why don't you put the guide lines in all the way round the head? How can you guarantee that one side is the same as the other if you've already blended away the guide lines on one side? In other words, how do you know that you've taken the guide lines on the right hand side of the head up to the same point as you did when you did the left side if you've already blended them away? Great cut man regardless 💪
+sag2974 thank you for the support! And thank you for the feedback. Honestly I've been doing fades this way since I've learned so I lock in the guidelines in my head so I know how to do it this way. But maybe for the sake of my viewers I should go all the way around?
Matt Giftedhands To be honest there's enough barbers on here doing that technique (Jeezy, Bossio, Kieron the barber, Ricardo, etc), so it's good to see a different method tbh. Like we always say in this trade, there's no right or wrong way of doing anything, so long as the end result is what's achieved, then that's what works for the individual. We all know that repetition and practice is the key. You can't learn anything from watching the same thing over and over again, but watching something new and different can teach us all a new tip, trick or technique we didn't otherwise know about or try. So just keep doing what you do, it's spot on.

And his is why i ask for Feedback! This response is exactly how barbers/barber students should look at barbering. We should never stop learning! No matter how long you've been in the game! Matt Giftedhands You're welcome dude. I've been a hairdresser and barber for 24yrs + and I NEVER think "That's it, I know everything and there's nothing new to learn". The day you have that mindset is the day you get left behind, and should hang your scissors and clippers up for good. I love nothing more than to learn new skills and constantly hone and improve the ones I have. I put into practice anything new that interests me and catches my attention, and if it doesn't help or improve my craft, then hell, I think "nothing ventured, nothing gained". But if I notice any small improvement, or a slightly easier way of doing something, then it's all worth the study. Thanks for taking the time out to chat to a brother from across the pond 🇬🇧 ↔️ 🇺🇸 ✌️
Why not just use the Wahl or Fast Feeds from start to finish? What's the point in switching back and forth?
