Your editing and commentary is really good. The fact that you speed up between slow parts of the game really separates you from a lot of the other aoe2 commentators I’ve seen
"slowest player alive" my dad plays campaigns on easy difficulty and spends hours and hours building a pretty base and converting the enemy troops to bypass the pop limit 😭
Nice Video, as RTS player I know a lot of people hate early game strats but I think it is also part of the game and what you played is on a high level and you have my respect for playing such a good game ggs

THIS IS WHY I LOVE AND HATE THIS GAME. If i try to have fun, i lose, if i get sweaty and min/max everything and learn the build orders, I start winning. I just want to play without thinking about all the numbers
you lose with "having fun" strats at sweaty level, it's expected, just play for fun and you will reach the elo level that matches your favorite style. As an option - have two accounts: one to play just for fun, and the other for cyber sportsmanship :D
Before Incas were nerfed, ie vills were impacted by blacksmith immediately (not having to wait for castle age) plus house population bonus (like a wood bonus) and stone bonus, Tower strategy was very hard to beat. Worst case "boxing" matches with strong vills in feudal age.
I so much love all these various strats, I got so border archer/scout rushes damn it is boring. I'm a great fan of phosphoru FC, Hoand DR and FC combinations etc :) Just keep on!
Great video. Would staying in feudal and committing to going scouts counter this? Castle age didn't do much for your opponent. 10 fully upgraded scouts would have been devastating at 15-20 min game time when he clicked up especially with some archers.
No just build a counter tower when you hit feudal and you have more vills to keep yours up. Tower dmg and health is pathetic so they go down easy and quick and cannot be denied by their tower
For me, as someone who nearly spends his whole time in 4v4 BF no Rush unranked lobbies - I hated that playstyle so much.😅 Now i want to improve my 1v1, learned one Build order but still sucked. I will try your Style, because i think it is actually really fun. It seems like the Perfect strat for me, cause i Just want to play a bit without sweating too much and enjoy the Game. Thats the reason i also dont like watching pro games. Seems boring for me. Low elo legends are so much More fun to watch and play😂
Whats your apm? I have 15 eapm average (according to aoe2insights, max I ever got is 18) only 1300 elo but never see as slow players as myself at that elo. I only ever go full all in 1tc knights rush, not being able to micro units while booming and prefering to focus on keeping my tc running (never more than 30 sec idle time in a game)
@@MrPlannerAoE Well, obviously, "10x" is not true in the literal sense. But according to Aoe2Insights, my EAPM often sits comfortably in the single digits, so yes - way slower than you. But then again, I'm only 950 elo as well.
Can you do a one tc push with knights, siege, castles? Apparently that's my favourite strategy. I mean not like Hoang but where you keep pumping out villagers from that one tc continuously.
From my experience, that doesn't work that well at higher elo, mostly because everyone walls.. if they see you're going all in, they get a castle up asap and then ur push cant do anything anymore.

@@PrasenjeetKumarAuthor If the enemy isn't walled, a knight raid is great. But if he's walled and doesn't let u in, then it isn't worth it. And a castle is really strong in castle age and can stop most units, knights included.
Here's how I never died to a tower rush - When I see them tower rush, get 2 barracks all in producing MaA (stop making vils if you have to, market abuse, just make a bunch of MaA), don't attack until you have at least 10-15. Your eco will suck, but theirs will be worse and the towers will be gone.
I thought the same. Maybe better all in scouts with all upgrades and you can defend and raid their poor eco. For sure I would not do archers, if you are getting tower rushed you need a unit that can defend and attack quick and good.

I tried, it doesn't work. I am 1200 ELO and I get defeated to other 1200 ELOs every time. It may work if you are a pro and playing against 500 ELO lower players, and yes it doesn't require micro much. But similar skill players can counter tower rush every time. They just to a few defensive towers, a few archers, and go up to castle age earlier than me.
I think u might be doing some mistakes then. I played "normal" strategies, and I was losing half the games against 1600+ players. I haven't lost once doing tower rush.
@@MrPlannerAoE I am doing a lot of mistakes lol. Did I tell you I am 1200 ELO? :) I am very slow too, so I thought this strat might work for me. I can get the towers up early, but opponent counters it with textbook trush counter. They make one or two towers, 4 archers, and go up to castle age earlier. They have a mangonel out and my dreams of dropping forward castle is in the trash bin. I go back make defensive castle, then it is a standard castle age game where I have a massive eco disadvantage. My problem is that once I start making towers, I cannot check my base as often as my opponent does. So I keep forgetting making vils, making farms, etc. Cannot do any damage as well, so I lose. In your case it works since you are playing against a lot lower ELO players. You make less APM but still better at implementing the strat, checking back your eco, splitting your vils to sneakily tower opponent eco everywhere. That is just a lot for me to do.
@MrPlannerAoE BTW I do a lot better at all in attack startegies. Normal strats, I am 1000-1100 ELO at best. All in Cuman archer-ram rush, or all in Hoang type siege-knight push I can go up to 1300 ELO. Because once I start attacking I don't have to check my eco as often, which I can't do anyway.
Yeah this is busted, I could barely beat hard AI yesterday because of its macro economy and mass units. Just beat both harder and extreme AI with little difficulty. Time to test in multiplayer now. My fastest feudal is 8 minutes but I reckon I can push that even lower.

Your current gameplay strategy is a poor one, designed merely to inflate your ego and create a false sense of dominance. In truth, you lack a solid strategy, micro, or macro game. Your gameplay consists solely of building a disgusting ring of towers around the weakest part of the map. It's truly repulsive.
that's why this game is irritating. I want to like it but online play just encourages rage tactics. I feel like if it was designed better, fights would play out like actual medieval battles, rather than weird alternate realities

This “strategy” only works because people lack experience against it. At higher levels it’s considered a meme. And the average player dosen’t have the time to learn how to deal with nonsense like this. Learning the ins and abouts of how to play meta is more than enough to learn. And It’s simply frustrating for most people to be dragged into your arena. I ve never felt any good about playing against it. Even when i manage to beat it.

Yup, I remember that. There was a guy, around 2k, that kept Inca tower rushing me. I knew it was gonna happen and I still couldn't stop it 11

My favorite 2v2 strat is my ally Mongol tower rushes at 19 pop while I follow up with 21pop Malian MAA. It works like half of the time, and it’s fun.

You don't need a mod, you just need to dig in the game settings a bit.
It's in the game settings I think (building range indicator or something). But in this case, I was using CaptureAge to play the recording.

My eAPM is usually 17-20 on MrSlow. My actual eAPM is around 50-60.
