Hi Chris, a great video, buddy! Oh yes, the L-bracket was also for me a big game changer, especially when it comes down to sturdyness for portrait orientated shots as you get rid of that crazy leverage effect making your camera chitter in the wind 😊 I like all of your photos, well done! And you got some amazing light. It looks even like fantastic red sky conditions some time before sunrise. Awesome! Thanks for the video and nice greetings, Christian
Hi Christan. Glad to see you commenting which implies you are still alive after a pause in your videos and a mention of health problems. I hope you will get well soon.
@@fotovylety Hi Jakub, thank you so much, my friend, that is really kind ☺ Things are a bit complicated right now. There will come a video tomorrow (Saturday) on my channel where I go a bit into detail and how it will go on. Nice greetings, Christian
I would bracket more, especially for macro, but first I need invest in a computer that can actually run lightroom or affinity or what-have-you. 😅 In the meantime I'm grateful that the OM-1 does in-camera focus stacking. Fantastic sunrise, Chris.
I believe the Live-GND (Grad-ND) is new to the OM-1 Mark 2 and it is very powerful too. The CPL is the one filter that cannot be done in the camera or post and for technical reasons should be as close to the objective lens as possible, inside the hood which makes it awkward to get at. With the GND there's no real need for the cumbersome matte box on the front, and now we can poke a finger into the hood and turn the CPL.
@ I’ve used Pentax since the days of the Spotmatic but as aged raced up I wanted something lighter more portable. I tried the Fujifilm XT-3 and didn’t like it so came over to OM Systems with the OM-5 which I love apart from the appalling menu. I always carry two bodies with me unless on a local walkabout and I don’t want to carry two different systems hence the desire for the OM-1. All that said I will never get rid of my Pentax K1ii the rest can go.
@@barryhiggott9458 on the grounds that the best camera is the one in your hand, the OM-1 will not take a better photo than the OM-5, that is down to the photographer pointing the camera in the right direction. My E-M5ii has the HDR and Hi-Res and the bracketing. So you may wonder why I got the OM-1 Mark 2. What E-M5ii doesn't have is the internal ND and GND (Grad ND) of the OM-1 Mark 2, and perhaps most importantly the most powerful processor with extra memory, which speeds the works up and keeps it quiet. I have been using the Lumix G9 for a few years, the next logical step up is the G9M2 but in their usual wont they have made that even more video-centric, which is not my cup of tea now. The OM-1/Mk.2 have good haptics and not overburdened by too many function buttons (the G9 has over 20 to play with).
Thanks for the video, the images and the discussion. Funny, I use focus bracketing quite a bit, but have never done exposure bracketing or HDR computational mode. Something to try.
Really impressive, haven't used HDR either so will give it a go. Also I'm just as impressed with the quality of the video during golden hour as the stills. Was the video shot using a standard profile or a flat / log profile?
you also have drinking dinosaur at home, Glen Beach Rock Arch anyway, bracketing adds more noise, at least when using LR. i still prefer filters, like a real man
HDR is a valuable technique which most landscape photographers use… but will not admit it. The technique suffers a bad reputation from the garish developments made when it was first automated. Used subtly, it’s brilliant.
I always enjoy your content. As a micro-four-thirds user myself, I am very pleased about your advocacy for the format and the creative and high quality of your images.
I have thrown all the gnd filters away i never use them. I only take brackets these days and it works much better. Especialy when the horizon isn't a straight line or there is a tree going trough the horizon. Only negative is that you stack multiple exposures and at the coast were you are you will never get sharp waves. But for me the closest coast line is 2 hours away so I'm not bothered with that 😅 by the way the 3legged thing ollie has a space for the screen. Recently purchased it and it works great. Grt guido
Purists will always be purists. Computational photography programs built into the OM cameras are just another tool. But it is a fantastic way to introduce different types of images to the "Non Expert"
HDR / Bracketing is a great option!
And thanks for sharing your video and nice photos Chris 👍
Love my em1-iii!!!! Love computational photography and the ibis in this camera! Thanks for all your hard work in these videos!

From 2:18 to 2:32 you can literally see the sun rising. It's amazing.
Great video! I was thinking another great photo would be the sun through the gap at the beach! 😊 3:12
Great photographs Chris
Great video and what a sunrise!
Sempre il TOP Chris! 💯
awesome photos chris.

For switching between landscape and portrait I recommend Nisi 72mm
I am seriously considering the OM-1, I have the OM-5 and it has seriously impressed me.
What's making you up grade from the om5 to om1 , or is it to long a question to answer.

Both are marvelous cameras.

I once did a 25 shot, HDR pano inside a cave looking out. It required quite a bit of pp in LR but turned out to be one of my best shots ever
Nice pics, enjoy your vids tfs. OM-1 shooter but primarily wildlife and macro. Trying to work on landscape
You should start using the 8mm f1.8 pro for hilltop photos. And don't you dare defish! Then you can't photograph with fisheye.
Very nice
Thanks 😊
3Legged Thing make an L bracket suited to the OM-1 and Mkii that males allowance for the screen rotation.
I like the look of the Smallrig mini cage too. Similar price. Only problem is, it's a similar price. 😄

The image had enough dr in the video, looks worse with the hdr feel

Can't believe you didn't get the lighthouse and golf course 🫠
I thought about the lighthouse but it’s a bit bland lol.
