Coral Island may take inspiration from many other whimsical sim adventures, but it's presented in such a neatly packaged and polished manner that it feels oddly fresh, invoking nostalgia in a way that lingers in my memory. Whether it's the beautifully illustrated characters available for romance or the excuse to explore the ocean's depths in search of treasure, I couldn't put Coral Island down. It swiftly became one of my favorite titles of the year. So, sit back, relax, and maybe even find love; regardless of your chosen path, Coral Island offers an experience that farming fans should not miss.

The artist that made the portriats did character designs sketches for disney movies which i thought was really cool

The thing about the voyeuristic events is that Harvest Moon was doing that for years. When you say that it felt awkward to you a lot of people who grew up with it might find it normal.
Literally the first thing I thought of was the PS1/64 gen HM games and all the events that had our character walk in at the tale end of a whole scene and just give an opinion lol

Game is definitely addictive and will be amazing...once out of Early Access+ (1.0) since you can't even finish the main storylines and there are clear areas that still aren't completed. Probably gonna put it down for another 6 months or so

I'm playing the game and I have to put an alarm because I keep saying myself "one more day" and I realize is 4 am!
I love that I can play slow without bad consequences (except not having seeds on winter because I'm still on D)!!!

Damn I just bought My Time At Sandrock, now this is in Gamepass 😅
My time at Sandrock (PS5) update caused a lot of bugs. So I’ll be playing this while I wait for Sandrock to be playable again lol

The game is very rough on Xbox game pass. I'd wait till they fix the issues before starting
I put over 80 hrs in early access and really hated that I have to start again from scratch. Game is really fun though and very stardew valley/harvest moon like.

Hey I liked your review, but the fact that none of the footage lines up with the script (Not showing the two innkeeper's "Disney" style, bug catching, etc.) really took away from it

I think you can have children actually! It's possible it's more of an adoption situation since same sex couples can have kids too, but I suspect it doesn't go much into the details ;)
It looks like a interesting game. Interacting with objects looks finicky. There is so many farming sims these days, having smooth controls is really important.

Only if the message is, "We can release a totally unfinished game that only runs on one of three advertised platforms, and people will fall over each other to spend money on it." I don't think that's a great message, though.
You could call this game "Stardew Valley 3D mod with Underwater DLC"

I don't know what release version was like because I only played it recently. Absolutely top of its class and SoS really need to pick their game up. SoS games are total crap next to this. Stardew was inspired by SoS, this is clearly inspired by Stardew but SoS remains just that, an inspiration stuck in the past. PoOT was literally unplayable due to being one of the worst optimised games in existence, with frames going down to 1 in 5 seconds at some points, to the extent you wonder if the game is crashing.
This is really one of the best you can play in its genre.
1.0 is incomplete.
Listen man im tired of ppl spoiling story thru reviews. A short and sweet synopsis is all that is needed two to three sentences. TH-cam has made it hard for ppl to create short and nice reviews cause content creators need to make long winded videos to get monetize. The pixar comment was unnecessary for example.

Does this game shove the whole cyber dating aspect down your throat? Can you recommend this to people who just want a simple farming game without the cringey pixel romance aspect of it?
I think most people play these games CUZ of the dating aspect. If u want pure farming just play well.. Farming Simulator honestly. Can’t really think of any other farming life sims that don’t include romance or at the very least friendships that also give a buff or add some type of social aspect to it. They are after-all part life sims too.
So I should be playing this on gamepass 🎉
Thanks for reviewing actual gameplay as opposed to some others I've watched that raved about nothing but body type and gender inclusivity. People are so pathetic these days.

I've had more fun with it then going back to stardew ngl

I wouldn't say better than Stardew Valley just different. Especially if you already have a ton of hours in Stardew, but feel like you want a new experience outside of modding the game. This is a great title and I had a ton of fun with this even if I didn't review it.

I really feel this game is just a rip off of Stardew Valley, admittedly Ive only played 9 hours but Im already disappointed with the story. I hope it gets better with time.
Far too woke for my liking.
Wish you had highlighted the recycling and being respectful to nature aspect a bit more and shown some diving footage, since that is a big part and another map of the game - with its own storyline at that.
