The most common investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. There's also the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.

According to Warren Buffett, dividends are less valuable for growing businesses and more suitable for established ones. Investing in companies that offer dividends might be seen as parking capital for steady returns, especially for those relying on portfolio income. This approach resembles bond investing, serving as a means of generating consistent earnings.

Agreed. My portfolio was diversified across several markets with the help of a financial planner, and were able to achieve over half a mil in net profit. It is vital that you have a variety of exposure, including in firms that are currently generating cash flows.

As smart investors who understand the true value of the underlying business, we never let the current market price guide us into the quality and success of our investments... we allow the market to serve us.....we take advantage of the emotions and stupidity of others to add great companies on the cheap.

Warren Buffett 7 Rules Investors must follow:
    1. Don't hold a stock for 10 minutes unless you're willing to hold it for 10 years.
    2. Don't loses money.
    3. Always buy below intrinsic value.
    4. Stick to businesses you understand.
    5. Don't buy cigar butts
    6. Be greedy when others are fearful, and fearful when others are greedy.
    7. Seize the golden opportunities.

I've been scrambling for somewhere to put the money, where I can make an effort to use the gains to pay bills so I can quit my job or should force early retirement. All roads have pointed to the financial market of some sort which is a good idea buh where else should I put money besides the financial market? We have a 13% RPI rate so cash is tough.

Yep great question and that’s always the one - where would you rather be if you have an option. Personally I’m always invested aside from a small emergency fund. Financial-market for me seem the only way forward with my long time horizon (accrued almost $1.4m in gains since 2020 ) but if you don’t have that fortune of time it’s a tough market out there almost nowhere feels safe! . Just know the risk you're comfortable with . Mistake is expensive

I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

Once upon a time, I was an eager investor. With high hopes and dreams, I diligently built my investment portfolio over the years. But as the tides of the market turned against me, my once-promising investments began to crumble. Stock prices plummeted, bonds defaulted, and my hopes faded away. With each passing day, my portfolio dwindled, mirroring the sinking feeling in my heart. I watched helplessly as my hard-earned savings vanished, leaving behind a lingering sadness and a stark reminder of the unpredictability of the financial world. I'm here again because I want to get back on track.I need ideas to get on on a recovery process.

Losses can provide valuable lessons and insights into the intricacies of the financial market. They can highlight areas where improvements can be made in investment strategies, risk management, or research. By reflecting on the losses and learning from mistakes, one can enhance their knowledge and skills, which can contribute to future success. I don;t have much to give but my thoughts are with you.

The pathway to substantial returns doesn't solely rely on stocks with significant movements. Instead, it revolves around effectively managing risk relative to reward. By appropriately sizing your positions and capitalizing on your advantage repeatedly, you can progressively work towards achieving your financial goals. This principle applies across various investment approaches, whether it be long-term investing or day trading.

Despite utilizing the correct strategies and possessing the right assets, there can still be variations in the investment returns among different investors. It is important to acknowledge that experience plays a crucial role in investment success. Personally, I realized the significance of this and sought the guidance of a market analyst, which enabled me to substantially grow my account to nearly a million. I strategically withdrew my profits just before the market correction, and now I am taking advantage of the buying opportunities once again.

It helps to invest in companies whose products or services are interesting to you and in which you can see potential value. Or else low risk boring stocks and ETFs, whose outputs are necessary inputs in other supply chains. Ex: apple; look into the components which apple outsources. In this way you capture diversification of the supply chain in addition to the primary stock.

quote 2 : Don’t hold a stock for 10 minutes unless you’re willing to hold it for 10 years ➜ keep your position even if it drops 50%

Once you own shares. Is there any costs in maintaining them? Like brokerages fees, etc.

I remember buying in fantasy trader Vodafone with 100k. For a year it just kept going down, so I quit the game. Vodafone arn't going anywhere and it goes down, very confusing.

Sorry for bumping…..but Are you interested on how to really achieve financial freedom I’m just saying because I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for license advisors and came across someone of due diligence she helped a lot to grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to approx $850k

Rule #1 of acquisition: Always make gold press latinum. I mean always make money.
Rule #2 of acquisition: Don't lose money, refer to Rule #1.
It's a joke referring to Star Trek NG, the Ferengis. But it's a good point, our intent when investing is to make money.

Thanks Brandon for the excellent subject content. Key to me are rule #5 and #7. It is easy to buy companies at a low cost, but it takes work to evaluate them to determine which are great businesses. Then the fortitude to execute once the information formulates into an actionable decision.

I really appreciated this video, as a medium-term *VRI TOKEN* holder. I know you commented on not many people paying attention to this, but it was very relevant for holders such as myself. After watching your thoughts, I willbuy more. I also remember your earlier assessment. This will crush the market.
