Was at Berryessa one time working out a birds nest on my spinning reel right before dark with a Senko.Got things right after several minutes and there was a 5 pounder on the other end. Go figure, it was great. Thanks Sean and have a good night.
I just got some more spinnerbaits from the hook up tackle during there misfits sale. I like to throw the bottom up chibeeble spinnerbait and slow roll it towards the bottom. I pair it up with an OSP hp fish and have caught some really nice smallmouth on that combo. Thank you for the video Sean this was another really good one. As always light lines, have a great rest of your week !!!
I was a co angler in a BASS open in Florida many years ago. The pro I was with Dead Sticked a 6 inch black texas rigged worm in lily pad openings. He would let the worm sit there for up to and over five minutes. He caught a 27 pound bag that day. I couldn’t believe it. I started dead sticking behind him and caught two over 6. It works. I believe in a non tournament situation, an angler could pull up to an excellent location, then anchor, or put the power poles down, and cast out several rods in many directions and dead stick several rods at once. I believe this was a mid 1950’s technique used in Florida by early Bass anglers with the first plastic worms.
Thanx AA. My fishery is shallower than yours and I prefer Colorado or Oklahoma spinnerbait blades in the cold water. It's the only time I use them. I'm also into the red front blade when it's cold.
Good job Sean…. I’m 77 and still fish local bass club tourneys for fun. We fish all the Northern CA lakes you mention. I live in Brentwood, next door to the Delta. I can relate to all your old school methods, but like you, I try to stay current with newer trends (Scoping, jig head minnows, etc.-). Thanks for helping me feel relevant at this age and not alone in my memories. I can think back to my earlier days and remember winning tournaments with a split shot on Clearlake! Keep up the great work even if the memory loses a word occasionally. Thanks.

@@af4od02 it’s very effective but most don’t have the patience for it. You got to see it work. Thanks for the comment.

I use my old braided line to tie jig and spinnerbait skirts
That’s good use of old braid.

dead sticking is easy when you have another rod to keep busy with
This is true but I’m a one rod guy.
