Thanks so much, Happy! And a big congrats on a truly lovely guitar built by some of my favorite luthiers!! I'd be very proud too! Thanks for all the inspiration over the years - I speak for all of us..! - Matt
@@eddiesguitars Matt, playing these instruments for those in confined medical circumstances and those with dying brain function and seeing their faces light up, sing, tap feet, praise, and recall good times is really the reason for a great guitar for me. You folks help that. Remember the right side of the brain Remembers rhythm, like song, cadence, and emotional language. Making people smile and laugh. Yes, they might not remember normally, but they have emotions and singing and live music touches those in ways other things do not. Thanks Matt.
Hey Matt. I love your videos, must have watched 100 by now. You're my favorite reviewer, I really like your calm and peaceful vibes. Nice to hear a bit of Elliott in the outro. Happy would be happy, I reckon. Greets from Berlin.
Good lord. I've listened to countless reviews of various guitars on TH-cam and this is probably the one guitar I've heard through my laptop's speakers where I can tell how quality of an instrument this guitar is. Good God! Amazing playing also. You've gained another subscriber. Thanks a ton and keep rockin'
What a beautiful guitar. My wife and had the honor to spend an afternoon with Richard Hoover in his shop a few years ago. Thank you Happy for all your beautiful music and thank you Matt so much for the beautiful review ! Beautiful playing !! Wonder if I can talk my bride into leaving me buy one ???
Very nice description of the physical properties of the guitar, but I would have enjoyed you playing a few different styles of music so we can understand the capabilities of this guitar. It is very intriguing. Thank you for this review.
More of a Bourgeois fan myself. Sold my Santa Cruz OM for a Bourgeois OM immediately upon trying a few out. All I enjoyed more than the Cruz, but YMMV. Sounds better for my tastes in every way. Lush but not overpowering, articulate but not too clinical. It’s so perfectly balanced from bass to treble and in overtones and fundamentals. If for no other reason, I’d choose Bourgeois for the ease of a neck reset since it bolted on and not dovetailed.
@@Luke-yv6uo thanks luke .i must admit i am leaning towards the bourgeois. And your right about the joint it does make life easier if needed thanks again for your advice
If I understand it correctly, it is the compromise between 14 frets to the body or 12 frets to the body. (13 being in between those). The difference is in the bridge placement. 12 frets to the body allows for the bridge to be able to structurally move downward into the more rounded part of the top/body, allowing for more richness and sweetness of sound. So 13 frets to the body averages that effect. Not for me, anyway. I’m a 14-fret guy.
Of course, if you like the idea, you can get a 12-fret guitar with a cutaway so you get the bridge placement effect and the fret access you would not ordinarily have with a standard 12-fret design. I don’t believe I’ve seen that done with a Nick Lucas -type 13 design though. Also, I guess I forgot to mention that it’s where the neck joins the body that also accounts for that extra sweetness.
🔵 scgc H-13 is one of the best design small shop acoustics - this seems very similar (sorry didn't listen to the entire seven minutes of verbage) just wanted to hear the guitar ❕🐸
Thanks, Matt. Very nicely done and much appreciated. Beautiful playing, too. You make my guitar sound great! I'm very proud of it.

OOOOOOOOOOH THAT TONE. Possibly my favourite sounding guitar I've ever heard

Very beautiful guitar, very unique voice
You can tell that this is just on another level compare to the big brand names.. Very impressive.
6:56 stops talking starts playing
And yes I know the Happy book to which you refer. It was new when I was starting. HT13? Hmm, more to dream about.

Beautiful!
Spectacular
Beautiful instrument - beautifully played, too.
13-fret neck - that's a new one on me! That's not common, is it?
Like the old, Depression era Gibson Nick Lucas signature
Matt, lovely guitar, great description and your playing shows its voice. Does Bourgeois make a deep body 00? Very nice guitar. Thanks for the demo.
Beautiful guitar. Im stuck trying to decide on a bourgeois om or a Santa Cruz om any advice would be welcome. Thanks

Probably can't go wrong with either, but have you considered Huss and Dalton? The fit/finish and tone is always great.
@@gui-texzan7477 i have played a couple and agree they make very nice guitars. That might have made things harder now lol
@@Luke-yv6uo I really like the Bourgeois too. What style of guitar you play? finger style pick both? What's you favorite music? Cheers!
Should I get a top of the line Eastman? Or calm down and save for two more years to get this beauty? 😍
Very Nice! What are the benefits for a 13 fret neck?
