Pointless grading trainers ... PSA just gives 80-90% of them PSA 9. My theory is they are objectively measuring centering using a tool but not adjusting the to top edge ratio of the trainer textbox.
@@haytertcg I graded around 100 trainers before I realised they were just giving out 9s to almost all of them. Before the hype and dump last year my trainer hit rate was about 80%, afterwards it is about 10%. Even Karim has the same issue with the card he selects. I am sure it is an issue with the automation giving the cards a 9 centering score on bulk/value submissions.
@haytertcg if that were the case, you could buy up greninja in 9 for 300 and regrade and hope for 10s. If it doesn't gem then resell as raw or 9s. 20 risk per card for a 500 dollar reward if it gems.
Sweet return overall! That Battle Festa pikachu is my favorite in my festa collection. I remember buying it off a random Japanese eBay seller for $20 raw and then grading it coming back a 10. Take me back to those days maaaannn, should’ve bought more lol
Bro i had the same things happened to me. I got my submission back and i had 9’s that had the same exact damage as you, on the same corner!!!! I definitely didn’t submit cards with that whitening on a corner…. PSA definitely damaged these cards
Yep. I've heard of other people this happened to as well. You can get reimbursed by PSA, but since the cards were not of a super high value its not worth bothering. Just a shame really
Weird with some of the modern grades. I find scratches harder to see on the newer backs compared to pre XY. Agree with Altaria, sick card man! Reminds me of aerodactyl V alt
First 20 sec into the video: see a perfect card that graded a 9. Same time, there are cards with similar certs graded 10 up for auction on Ebay that I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. Gotta love PSA!

Yo you been grading the team plasma battle gift set cards in Japanese? Am trying to get my hands on the Sableye card but can’t find it anywhere. Lmk and I’ll buy it/them off you.
Over time you just get quite good at condition checking. I kind of know what to look out for on different types of cards. In summary, first thing you look at is centering, it can be a little off but nothing extreme. Then i go straight to the back of the card to check for whitening (most obvious) scratches (can be harder to see) and finally indents (sometimes only viewable in the right light!). Those three things are all pretty crucial in terms of condition.
Ah, and how to decide what to grade. Basically just depends on the value increase between a raw NM card and a grade 9 / 10 card. I won't grade something if i'm not sure the value will increase basically (other than personal collection stuff like the Dialgas which is basically flushing money down the drain. Find out the raw card price add the grading cost add shipping fees and compare that total to the PSA9/10 price of the same card. hope that helps

hey! so i don't actually submit to PSA directly. In europe with import fees its much easier and simpler to use a middleman
