    Absolutely stunning colors. Just another reason fall is my favorite season to hike. I can understand why that trail is so popular!

      It was my first time ever doing it myself, and I definitely get why it’s so popular now! It was really beautiful!
      As much as the larches are beautiful in the fall, I must admit I wish the mountains out here had a bit more colours in the fall. But hey! I’ll take what I can get!
      Cheers man🍻

    Had planned to do the Larch Valley trail, after seeing thr crazy amont of cars and people , decided to go David Thompson country, land silde lake, couple water falls, dozens of mt sheep, & 1 grizzly..
    Nice low 20s for high.. maybe next yr. It's been 30+yrs since i last did that hike..

      We had just come out from Skoki loop (video coming soon hopefully), and decided to camp at lake Louise so we could be up at 5 and at the parking lot before it was full. There was already a line of cars ascending at 5:30!
      Fortunately once in the trail it seemed most chose to stay at moraine lake for sunrise shots and venture up the trail later so it was quiet for the most part on the way up. But a zoo on the way down!
      It’ll probably be another 30 years till I go back (at least during larch season) 😆.
      Would love to do the loop into paradise valley and down though.
      DT country is always rewarding! I just did Landslide and Lake of the Falls at the end of July. Beautiful up there!
      What waterfalls did go to?

    Cool video! Just did this trail on Labour Day. It was freezing at the pass lol it actually looks warmer in your video that it did a month ago. We had snow and wind once we hit the valley of 10 peaks.

      Haha it was an interesting shift of weather the few weeks leading up to this! But it was WAY warmer than I had expected! It had been up to 20c the day prior!

      Isn’t it beautiful! This was early morning red this time round, but I’m sure it’d be beautiful in the evening too!
      Keep moving forward.

    Stunning views! How much time did the whole hike take round trip?

    • @BackcountryForward
      @BackcountryForward  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well.. obviously stopping to take a ton of pics and videos really slowed things down. We stared at about 6am and were back in our car by 2pm. I'd say plan for 5-6hrs at least. more if you're a slower hiker or a videographer lol

    I am so jealous. Here in my neck of the woods its flat. And 99% farm land. Very beautiful country.

      The mountains are a 4hr drive for me. It’s pretty flat 4 hours away, but I get to escape to the heights whenever I get a chance!
      It’s definitely gorgeous! I’m blessed!

    Also, do you think 3L of H2O will last for this hike?

    • @BackcountryForward
      @BackcountryForward  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I'd say 3L minimum. I think bringing a filter if you have one is a better bet though. There's a few good water sources to use along the trail, and that way you can carry less weight.
      But as always it's personal, depending how much you drink on a strenuous hike. 3-4L should be good for most people though.
      Keep Moving Forward!

      A filter would be a good addition to our gear, do you have any recommendations for a good and also budget friendly filtration system?

    • @BackcountryForward
      @BackcountryForward  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@happyackerman4885 The Sawyer Squeeze or Katadyn BeFree are probably the easiest and lightest filters and fairly affordable compared to some options. I'd lean towards the katadyn for ease of use, but I've heard and had mixed results on its durability for long-term use.
      The cheapest option is chlorine tablets though.
      The lifestrpaw water bottle is really affordable too but I haven't used it!
      Here's some links to check out:
      Katadyn: geni.us/BCF-BeFree
      Sawyer: geni.us/DI04dMs
      Lifestraw: geni.us/-lifestraw
      Chorine: You can get at your nearest outdoor store (sadly doesn't look like they're available on amazon)
      hope that helps!

    Canada just kicks the crap out of the US in scenery.

    • @BackcountryForward
      @BackcountryForward  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I don’t argue with you there! But I know a few who would! Lol 😅
      I’d even go so far as to say Canada kicks the US in a few other areas too 😏.... but let’s just not go to war any time soon okay... 😆
