I remember when I first found these springs hardly anyone knew about them. I've gone so many times on my own and with friends it's such a fun hike :)

Hey man just a friendly FYI, this spot has a heavy local vibe and has been around for a long time. Its not a secret obviously but its obscure nature has been whats kept the horrible party trashing nature vibes of IV away. This side of SB loves the barrier between the crazy college kids and the more mellow... This hotspring got a big makeover just over a year ago.
It was very tiny pools before and a lot less people could fit in the lower ones, and now all of a sudden youtubers and ig ppl keep mentioning it and I can say 100% traffic is at least double what it was ONE YEAR AGO. This is NOT a public trail and the owners of Hot Springs Roads end have every right to completely privatize it. I am not complaining just mentioning the increase in traffic has been to the all the "travelers" mentions of it.
I have spent my life here and around Oregon and CA hotsprings and this is one of the best in the world but unfortunately this mass attention its getting is absolutely the downfall. The boys who work to make this thing nice put their hearts into it. PLEASE at the very least if you're going to take up one of the 6 spots or the only other legal parking on the corner up the curb across the street (dirt area NOT street), come and use it then leave once done. The residents have taken note and regularly call MP to come ticket cars. I have seen over 20 ticketed cars there before.

Also I liked the video and support what you're doing. I only want to emphasize this is not a public hot spring and one bad apple will likely be the reason it gets permanently privatized so it really needs more attention than even your average hot springs. Which by comparison to nature trails, views, or beaches hotsprings already need more attention to prevent bad apples from destroying them. It happens a lot more often than people realize it and I think this hot spring is a ticking time bomb before a drunk/wreckless group ruins it for everyone.

I heard this place was clothing optional, but it feels like it's not now that it's all popular to the public and not just us nature lovers

Places like this should be only for those who want to find it. That way they are taken care of. When people start posting them on social media they just invite and give easy access to those who trash up the place.

Just to add,if we’re trying to relax, people still get rowdy, especially college kids and children and despite leaving no trace, people still do it,doesn’t matter how many times you tell them. Not to worry, parking will be a nightmare, the residents are known for calling tow trucks when things get out of hand.

You sound like such a KAREN. This isn’t private property. These are ancient Chumash lands. Long before this video even existed, the shit was labeled on Google Maps which technically IS social media (that’s how I discovered it). Everyone knows about this spot. It’s no secret.

The more negative vibes I get from you wealthy home owners makes want to go there and leave a hundred bags of trash . So why don't you be more friendly with people and people might be cleaner

Just did the hike yesterday. it's beautiful but warning you have to be healthy to walk this trail as its very steep in many places and takes a lot longer to hike then most have been lead to believe and it's easy to get lost on it and there's lots of lizard and snake activity there. Surprised no one got hurt falling down or bitten by a rattle snake

@@hikeronatrail I ran into one of the locals there named Jack who forbid me from filming him and asked me not to post on social media about this place. I guess he fears that this place may turn into a dumping ground and end up getting privatized and commercialized
