One thing important may be how to determine the Jacobian matrix for the discreted nodes...for Poisson's equation, it's easy, but for a more complex nonlinear equation system which is solved by the FD, I still have no idea how to do it.
Out of curiosity, will this method (or a variation) work for a system without boundary conditions completely surrounding it? For example, to solve for a metal plate with a point charge above it (I know there are easier methods, but just as an example)... you know that it goes to zero at infinity, but this condition doesn't seem compatible with this method since as i/j get very large, the compute power needed gets a bit silly. Is it possible to only set the boundary conditions of the plate and of the applied charge and still get usable results?
Thanks for sharing this good video! Could you share the link where I can find the lecture notes! Thanks a lot and best regards!
Thanks a lot for posting this video.
Great introduction ! Can I have access to those lecture notes ?

what is the d at the tolerance equation
thank you very much... nice informative video
is there any method to do a program where you can put the matrix you want and the border conditions?
how about LU decomposition for solving laplace equation ?
Hi, How we can solve if the boundry is unregular
thanks its very useful, but i have a question
how can i write a 3d dirichlet boundary condition in matlab?
