      what if the 'v' is not a constant it is in fact a function depending the u quite like the traffic equation of density for example 'v' would be equal : vf*(1-2*u/umax) considering the same u(x,t) in the video (vf is const) please help

    One thing important may be how to determine the Jacobian matrix for the discreted nodes...for Poisson's equation, it's easy, but for a more complex nonlinear equation system which is solved by the FD, I still have no idea how to do it.

    Why does the Lax Friedrichs scheme have no dissipation if you choose the timestep to be equal to the maximum allowable timestep? (for the Gaussian curve at least)

    thanks its very useful, but i have a question how can i write a 3d dirichlet boundary condition in matlab?

  • @user-ne6hy1oh5t
    @user-ne6hy1oh5t 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Out of curiosity, will this method (or a variation) work for a system without boundary conditions completely surrounding it? For example, to solve for a metal plate with a point charge above it (I know there are easier methods, but just as an example)... you know that it goes to zero at infinity, but this condition doesn't seem compatible with this method since as i/j get very large, the compute power needed gets a bit silly. Is it possible to only set the boundary conditions of the plate and of the applied charge and still get usable results?
