I love this too. her daughter eats a lot of vegetables, which is excellent... but she also has her own preferences like every person. it's nice when parents don't force things like that... my own mom always asked me to try things at least one time, so I'd know if I liked them or not, but she wouldn't force me to eat something I knew I hated. what you will or won't eat isn't a problem, as long as you're getting good nutrition somehow.

When I lived in Japan as an apprentice (I work as a ramen chef) I used to eat food from home when I felt sad or homesick, like kimchi bokkeumbap or ssamgyeopssal, kimchi jiggae and that kind of thing. Funny how your lunch and dinner reminds me of that time!

Me too I have made pork tonkatsu 3x in 2 weeks. I have a new flavor profile to play with. I made noodles with the noodle Broth that comes separate in a bottle. I added veggies and shrimp that I marinated in soy, mirin ,dashi , rice vinegar and sesame as I have seen you flavor things. My sweetie got me a pink Tamagoyaki pan and we have been practicing. Thank you so much for making Japanese food seem possible
That breakfast would have been a fancy dinner to me. Unbelievable, everything looks so delicious. I love the Chawan Mushi that my mom makes for me too. The rice with clams I’m dying to taste it. Just yummy! How lucky is this family to have delicious meals all the time. I wish they would adopt me but I’m sure I’m older than them lol

Thank you for the latest video ( and all the rest ). I enjoy that you practice the ritual of cooking from scratch & eating together as a family! As a young mother, I was told "Feed the children what you eat so they won't be picky eaters", but that's not true! I did like you do, make my kids a portion of similar food, but leaving out stronger tasting or strange textured foods, so that they would mostly eat what we were eating. Sitting together as a family for at least one meal a day is very important for children & family health. Keep up the great work!! :)
