This album came out the same month I found out my wife was romantically involved with another man. We got a divorce right afterwards. I was 21. Idk how I found this band but I remember listening to this album nonstop and drinking my days away. I no longer drink, but I still come back and listen to these songs from time to time. Life is hard sometimes. But you keep going because somewhere out there, there's a place for you. You just gotta hold on long enough to find it.

I never would have imagined that they would have turned out this way. I've always had a strong desire to search for God, and this year I've given up many things to try to show him how serious I am. And since then, everything has been falling into place in a way that has never happened before in my entire life! I found my place indeed friend. And now I'm in a serious relationship with a kind girl who wants to serve God with me. It is like the difference between night and day compared to where I was at before. Words don't do it justice as to how far down I was beaten. But I didn't give up. And you shouldn't either man! Keep on fighting and clawing your way out of life's hardest moments. And nothing worked... not meds, not therapy, not anything except one thing -- God's love. Andf there is someone else who is suffering out there in some way, what kind of person would I be if I did not at least try to share the same hope that I have found? I remember I walked into an fye and I saw the album “If you don’t have anything nice to say…” and just from the artwork alone I said to myself that I have to listen to this band. So I did some digging on TH-cam and spiraled into a deep 5 year “rabbit” hole. Needless to say these guys made a big impact on my life and it still brings me joy to listen to them to this day. i feel like the presence of the guitar, bass, and to lesser degree, drums, are buried beneath the piano and vocals. i don't like the way this is mixed, but i like the song in general, it probably would be cool to hear live.
