  • Sustainable design requires a team approach. This includes architects, construction crew, engineers, developers and an engaged client. Over the last 12 months, staff at the National Building Museum documented a "green team" that created PNC Place, a building one block away from the White House that is aiming for Platinum LEED certification. Join curator Susan Piedmont-Palladino as she interviews a cast of characters that made this sustainable idea a reality.

Architects true advocacy. I think its the best way to evaluate a quality building or structure rather that all cosmetics and physical features... way to go!

Thank you for uploading. I am thinking of becoming an architect but I don’t see any architecture in this building. Yes we should build the most resource efficient building but it also should have a look of Identity and esthetics. In this world of build it quick it’s hard to find Culture landscaping infrastructure like the 19th and early 20th century had. If I wear to design it I would have 3 principles, texture, interlocking masonry and suitability.

Seems that PNC has a penchant for sexy buildings... I live in Raleigh, NC and they own the sexiest building here in downtown Raleigh called the PNC Plaza.

Wait, you knocked down two Modernist buildings to make a Modernist building? You can see the Eisenhower Executive Building (c.1888) undergoing a retrofit in this video. I imagine it will still be standing there when this PNC building is knocked down to build greener green building.

+corduroy99 waterless urinals do concentrate the waste which requires more water later on in the process, It is assumed that one washes their hands before they dry them.
