If the transportation of steel, concrete, etc. to building sites is such a polluter, this alone condemns wind energy, which requires hundreds of times as much in materials (steel, copper, concrete and composites for the blades) than a nuclear plant for the same output. The transportation of those materials requires hundreds of times as much emissions, particularly since windmills are scattered all over the countryside, requiring repeated long hauls.
Bluebeam has stopped development on future versions of Revu for Mac/Apple. They released a final update, Revu for Mac 2.1, in December 2019. The official End of Life date was March 1, 2020. How many good working Mac/Apple computers are we now to stop using and return to recycling? Then buying new laptops running Windows. In what way is this sustainable and good for the environment?
Although I agree with the idea that not having support for all different platforms could cause people to not need devices you can also just sell them instead of recycling them. Besides, apple itself is far from eco-friendly. Their anti right to repair policies are a huge issue.
So use cheaper materials that won’t last as long so it’ll have to be rebuilt in 50 or so years time. That sounds very good for the environment. I’m not letting this be the next scandal in the construction industry
While I agree that focusing on the upfront carbon cost alone would be dumb we really do need to shift our primary materials from carbon intense ones. We can still do this while creating long lasting buildings.
Just did some cursory research and average life expectancy of concrete towers with glass curtain wall is 60 years vs 120 for masonry and timber. We're trying to introduce climate awareness into the industry not at the cost of longjevity but possibly of profit
And don't forget to save paper. I mean all that paper plan is the real cause for melting glaciers. Yeah Right! Simply say this video is sponsored by blue beam so we'll spew any nonsense to increase product sales.
@@eriol_h haha fair. I don't care who ends up as top dog but I would like to go digital. I have a 1" binder full just for layout of the plugs and switches for a penthouse
@@thomasr1051 Agreed but I'm against these ads that say just about any bullshit to increase their sales & fool people. p.s: as a civil engineer I can assure you can't build efficient buildings with just masonry & timber. They can be good as materials for individual houses (1-2 storeys at max) but not high rise buildings as is the requirement for cities dealing with space crunch.
Better land use
Paperless? Really…. Welcome to 2001 ecotips.
If paper counts for the 5th biggest chunk of CO2 you have bigger problems than emissions

Eliminating material waste at the design stage - Do they mean eliminate it at the construction planning stage rather?
