Putting my favorite RAB tracks like Slowtown and Anathema so low hurt. And putting Ruby down there with them was like a punch to the face 😭 (still watched the whole video) Maybe it's pretentious but non-vessel RAB is my favorite album because of it's flaws. It's pitchy, low budget, and poorly mixed but I love it. Ruby is such an amazing song to me. He starts off singing about how he's excited to see a girl with down syndrome at church because she's such a pure and beautiful person to him. But then it turns into a critique on the darkness of the world, and how her purity should be an inspiration to everyone. Then he basically feels guilty and sinful for his suicidal feelings. And screams for Ruby (whom he considers an angel) to apologize to god for him. The synth and drums at the beginning are so pleasent. But the absolute poorly mixed chaos at the end as he screams for like a minute straight is cathartic and beautiful. Anyways I agree with a lot of the other ratings
Thank you for that wonderful description of why you love Ruby. Even though I ranked it lower, I can see how the poor mixing can be cathartic or can give the song a pure, homemade quality that makes it seem more sincere. You're making me want to listen to it again, lol
This happen to me with kitchen sink. I might be a little bit pretentious for some people, but for some like me, is just what we've been feeling for so long but can't say or express in words. This song is always so cathartic, saying "go away, leave me alone" non-stop until he breaks and screams for not being left alone, the song itself cries as he screams for help like that knot on the throat finally loosen and- It gets me every fucking time, I can't stop crying when I scream with him, letting all go, and at the end of the mess, calm... Calm and the piano, is just... After the storm, and screaming, everything fades and I'm a baby at that point, bawlling my eyes out. Hugging and telling myself that I'll be okay.
@@unprofishional I love taxi cab mostly because I really enjoy singing along but if I’m being honest I have no clue what it’s about I’ve listen 100’s of times and still am unsure.
@@caidenf.3229 From what I understand, it's about Tyler's faith. He lays out the story of Christianity using the taxi cab as a metaphor for being delivered from death. There are people who can explain the lyrics much better than I can, so I'd totally recommend doing some research if you're interested.
I didn't care for hometown at first, but one of my friends who doesn't really listen to them said he really liked it and it was one of the only tøp songs he had in his spotify library. I listened to it more and it grew on me. It's one of my faves now actually. The intro gives me CHILLS and the piano and synths and echoey effects just come together so wonderfully. It's just so dark and calming and I love listening to that one on headphones, especially at night. I guess I got kind of bored hearing their more popular songs all over the place so I gravitated a lot to their less played ones since a lot of them are so underrated.
That's actually wonderful. A song growing on you is great, but a song growing on you because of a friend is even better. I'll need to give Hometown a relisten the next time I'm on a nighttime car ride
It's so interesting to see, how much people's taste in music differ. I love "Anathema" because of the last 30 seconds. Loved the video, keep up the good work brother.
@@HuMan-bEing132 yeah! Maybe I'm giving the song so much more credit that what it is, but it's a beautiful metaphor of the song itself. The music is so chaotic in the background, like it was what's going through his mind, and sings so calmly and normal as he shows himself around others. (And he singed before "you will never now what's inside my head / you will never now what I'm thinking now) His voice is what he is saying, and the music what he is thinking. His mind is going wild, loud and distorted while he's speaking so casually. It's just beautiful
it's so refreshing seeing so many trench tracks so high up on your list. i feel like when it first came out a lot of old fans were wary abt giving it a chance, but it's such a complex and well put together album from tøp. it's also super cool seeing taxi cab at #1, as that's my favorite off self titled and the one song i would save too :] also justice for never take it my bbgirl doesn't deserve that LOL
Yeah, Trench sounds very different than something like Vessel, but it's so incredibly well made. I love it very much, haha. And I'm glad you feel the same way about Taxi Cab! Sorry about Never Take it lol
agreed with everything. also definitely justice for never take it. BUT HONESTLY for me especially bounce man. I think it’s because I have emotional connection to it because of my friend. we were listening to it once and she made a little bit of art for it and it’s been one of my favorite songs on the album since
I immediately loved Trench. I had pre-ordered the album and played all the early release tracks a ton. I remember being at the gym and realizing the rest of the album had dropped and being soooo cheesed.
“Sometimes we will die and sometimes we will fly away, either way you’re by my side until my dying days and if I’m not there and I’m far away I said “don’t be afraid, we’re going home” I don’t know how this song is meaningful to you but this line right here forever changed my relationship with God. Just knowing that at the end of the day, regardless of how shitty my life is or how bad my depression is at the end of the day I will get to spend eternity with the people I love so it’s ok. It’s ok and I don’t have to be afraid. I don’t have to be afraid of losing them or of them losing me if I give in and end myself. I listen to this song every day first thing when I wake up and have done so every single day since I was 16 and I can firmly say it’s still my favorite song. Can’t wait for Clancy but nothing and I mean NOTHING is topping taxi cab
Yes! Pet Cheetah being in the top ten! The way it's build and just the power it has is so underrated. It does give me a kind of strange feeling like finding myself questioning life, but it still has to be one of my all time favorites! xD
6:25 the first time I ever heard Cancer was the twenty one pilots version, it took me like seven months to find out it wasn’t an original song. I liked the lyrics and how Tyler’s voice sounded on it but I thought the chorus was weird. Then I googled it and found out it was a My Chemical Romance I played the heck out of it, but the tøp version still hits different, I just love the vocals Also when I listen to it in my earbuds the bass makes my eyeballs vibrate
The twenty one pilots version was the first time I heard it too, haha! And I'm still glad their version exists even if I don't listen to it very much. Also, your comment about the bass made me laugh, so thank you for that
I feel personally attacked by how low you ranked Isle Of Flightless Birds but you gave the TOPxMM version of Tear In My Heart the recognition it deserves so I'll forgive it.
And I wasn’t jazzed right away with Shy Away, and a couple other songs from that album, on the first listen, but came around to love that song, and now Scaled and Icy ❄️is , in my opinion, a GREAT album !!!
My Blood will always be my favorite. The bass line is absolutely killer but also the music video and meaning behind the song does something for me. My next favorite off the top of my head would be The Judge. Of course Trees is up there.
My Blood is such an encouraging song with its lyrics. Sticking out for someone else is a great message. And it's cool seeing The Judge as your second favorite! I feel like that one doesn't make people's top songs very often
I was thrilled to see Cut My Lip and Leave the City at the top of your list. These are two of my favorites as well, and Leave the City is one of my favorite album closers of all time, it was perfect. And to hear you shout out the bass lines on Trench---literally inspired me to get a bass!
Leave the City still makes me emotional every time I hear it. And dude, I've been debating getting a bass guitar ever since this album came out! The bass just sounds so good on all the Trench songs
It physically hurt to see Kitchen sink ranked so much lower than I expected but tbh like you have good taste fs. Trees is what made me start trying to talk to God again, Friend please is one of my absolute faves, Oh Ms Believer is definitely one of my biggest comfort songs cause I live in a very cold and snowy area and its almost winter so I like to just turn on this song and relax a bit. neon gravestones is AMAZING and imo it should've been ranked higher but also I get your reasoning because it's a very serious song. Levitate makes me go absolute feral cause its SO FUN TO RAP TO LIKE DAMN. cut my lip deserves more recognition fr
Kitchen Sink has grown on me a bit just because of how beautiful the instrumental is. I love seeing how much you like all those songs too! :D I'm originally from a snowy area as well, so I totally get that feeling, and it's great to know there are plenty of us that appreciate Cut My Lip
Yeah, I don't blame you, haha. It took me a week to get my ranking where it is, and I'm sure it would change again if I went through the songs one more time
I WILL NOT TAKE THE HOMETOWN AND NEVER TAKE IT SLANDER! THE GUITAR ON NEVER TAKE IT AND THE "THIS SUMMER I WATCHED THE TUBE" PART, BRILLIANT. THE SYNTHS, VOCALS AND LYRICS OF HOMETOWN WERE BEAUTIFUL.
I mean, I like watching the tube as much as the next guy, but I dunno if I want to listen to a song about it :P Seriously though, I'm glad you enjoy those songs more than I do
Taking the non-remastered versions out, I would say RaB is one of the best albums. Then, my order is; Vessel, Self-TItled, RaB, Trench, Blurryface and SaI
Noooooo! I love hometown and never take it! And trapdoor is one of my favorites. And Saturday is a bop when listening with friends. It pains me to see how many self titled songs are low, I adore the album bar march to the sea and the platoon
Some songs I definitely like better in certain situations--like listening to Saturday with friends sounds really fun! And self-titled has some great highlights and some of their best lyrics, so I totally get why you love it. I just think their music production has gotten a lot better since then
mine: 1. Message man 🥇 (2015, blurryface) 2. Polarize 🥈 (2015, blurryface) 3. Migraine 🥉 (2015, blurryface) 4. Heavydirtysoul (2015, blurryface) 5. Kitchen sink (2011, regional at best) 6. Forest (2011, regional at best) 7. A Car, A Torch, A Death (2009, self titled) 8. Ode to Sleep (2013, vessel) 9. Isle of flightless birds (2009, self titled) 10. Holding on to You (2013, vessel) 11. Next semester (2024, clancy) 12. Overcompensate (2024, clancy) 13. Cut My Lip (2018, trench) 14. Guns for Hands (2013, vessel) 15. The Run and Go (2013, vessel)
omg i cant explain how happy i was when i saw taxi cab on first place, this song means so much to me and im very happy to see other people that see it the same way as me
I do appreciate your view. I think I can tell that you started listening to twenty one pilots later in their career than me. I say that because you criticized the poor production quality of their old stuff whereas I praise it. It just shows that they were at a different time of their lives and I appreciate that.
Loved the video, the humor was *chefs kiss* and made me crack up a ton. As for my favorite song/songs, it’s tied between jumpsuit and migraine. Jumpsuit I love bc of the sound of the song mostly, more specifically the distorted bass. And migraine is a song that I just love bc it I can relate to it a lot, and sonically it sounds so freaking good.
I'm glad you liked it! :D And those are both solid choices! The bass guitar is definitely an S tier instrument. Also, the line "a difficult beast feasting on burnt down trees" in Migraine is incredibly satisfying to say.
Most of your Regional at Best opinions hurt, though you’re so right about house of gold. I think my opinion of RAB is mostly influenced by how much it meant to me when I was younger, not necessarily it’s objective quality. I resonated with what you said about Taxi Cab in that regard. To me, RAB is about the first point in your life where you realize you’re growing up. I don’t listen to them so much anymore, but these fellas got me through some stuff and I’m grateful for it.
Yeah, I really wanted to emphasize that Taxi Cab is probably not their best made song, but it means to most to me. And I think it's great that RAB fills that role for you. Music can be a powerful thing
taxi cab is also my favourite and it is so nice hearing you explain why, because it’s the same for me. I know it’s not objectively one of their best songs but it means a lot to me :)
the side eye i gave you when you ranked isle of birds and anathema and ruby (as well as other rab songs) so low was vengeful but it’s okay. your rankings and reasonings are actually so well thought out and i can tell you put so much work into this one! also i don’t think a single soul could argue with your number one. it is also my number one, and tyler’s number one for a reason. i also think a large part of peoples rankings, and especially the love for certain songs come from the sentimental/emotional connection we have with the work. yes ruby can be viewed as… objectively pitchy or whatever, but when i first heard that song my god my heart shattered. when i see sunsets now, and i’m not joking like every sunset, i hear the tracks intro. this is because of the og lyrics video background lol. and like ruby, isle of flightless birds, implicit demand for proof, taxi cab, and many many others, it’s the special moment and emotions you have for them that make them special. good job!
Sorry for putting those songs so low, haha! :P But sincerely, thank you very much for the compliment. I wanted to be as accurate to my feelings as possible, so the extra effort was worth it. And you're absolutely right about how emotional connection drives our opinion of a song! I love the feeling of being lost in music because I resonate with a song's message (and I guess general atmosphere too). Taxi Cab pulls at my heartstrings so much, and it's great to hear that Ruby is one of those songs for you as well! Its backstory definitely makes it stand out, and being reminded of the lyric video by sunsets is also amazing. How would you rank the albums overall? I'm curious about where RAB would be for you.
This is a very cool list! I'd say it's very similar to what mine would be. As for the "bitcrunched" comment on Goner, I noticed that too. It almost sounds like Tyler is talking through a radio. Also, I'm very glad to see someone point out the amazing bridge in Before You Start Your Day. If not for that, I would rank the song lower.
i think the bitcruncher adds a cool effect. Cause it goes with the theme of not being on the radio and making music for the industry under pressure. While the sound might not be everyone's favourite, u gotta appreciate the themes of blurryface. its my favourite album tied with trench.
@@ELias-vn5yv I agree. But to me, especially with the blurryface album, it makes me think of blurryface and Tyler speaking at the same time. Like Blurryface is speaking THROUGH him. Especially in Goner.
I completely agree with your album rankings, Trench is absolutely their best work to date both on terms of actual production quality as well as the deep metaphorical lore that they built up around the album, including tying back to metaphors and themes from previous albums. And that's not to mention all of the lore they dropped losing up to the album. I've never seen a fandom with the same level of passion for fitting together all of the clues and messages they put out. I can't think of a concept album that works as well as it does
Respect for being able to rate all these songs! I don't think i could. But man i love Regional at Best. Be concerned might be one of my favourite twenty one pilots songs.
Ranking them all was tough, but fun, haha! It was interesting learning what my preferences were. And Be Concerned definitely has a sweet sounding instrumental and an emotional message, so I get why you'd like it
4:18 wdym is my ringtone since it came out 🥲 5:22 I can forgive you for Hometown, but this one- I can't 7:17 I would put it higher, but I'll accept it (It's my favorite song along with Fake you out, I wanna die) 7:54 whY 8:37 ......... this is painful 13:27 Ok, I forgive you for everything just for this 15:09 At the beginning I didn't liked this song that, I liked more Mulberry Street. But when I gave myself time for actually listening it, man, it hits hard. I cry everytime 16:26 it is. 16:32 Sahlo Folina 17:15 my gOD, THIS ONE. "In time I will leave the city. For now I will stay alive" I singed this with so much emotion everytime I needed to hold myself together, svicidal thoughts sometimes gets me, but damn, I promised I would stay alive 18:04 ok, that was unexpected- Regional at best is actually one of my favorites albums, but I could not do this list. I love so many songs that it's impossible to select just one or put them in order like this
This was very entertaining to read, haha! Thank you for the detailed responses to different songs and for forgiving me, lol. I was a little harsh on RAB in the video, but I have a great respect for its place in their music. And yeah, ranking isn't always fun. If you're able to just enjoy their music, I recommend sticking with that 👍
@@unprofishional you're not wrong though, objectively speaking the music of RAB is not too good, but the emotional involvement it has in my life makes me ignore every technical aspects and focus of my interpretation of it, since I heard the album when I was going through tough times. But I agree with you anyways in the higher spots, Trench is such a good album, and shared opinions are valued anyways. Thanks for the video, I had a fun time watching it, and I really thought you wouldn't respond to this! Glad you had fun reading me too ✨
oddly enough when you revealed taxi cab, i was like "EW. that's one of my least favourites." and that, my frens, is the funniest thing about differing opinions. the shock you get anyway, my favourites (off each album, in no particular order) are message man, redecorate, be concerned, isle of flightless birds, migraine and cut my lip but if i had to say favourites for emotional experience: leave the city (concert) and anathema (family related)
me casually twiddling my thumb to hear the thoughts this legend has on clancy, some people wait for brad taste in musics thoughts, others, fantano, but for me it will always be unprofishional.
Just happy glowing eyes made it somewhat high on the list. Idk what I like about rab tracks they don’t sound good but simultaneously are some of the purest and most raw songs I’ve heard before.
Your top 10 are so based, I completely agree! TRENCH >>>>> and Cut My Lip ended up being my most listened song from last year and I never realized I bumped to it for so much; I thought it would be Bandito. The way Cut My Lip can fit into a good or bad moment... I've danced, studied, drawn and cried to it and it fit perfectly. A masterfully written, performed and produced song!
Thank you unprofishional for bringing Air Catcher (Studio Version) up in this ranking video. Because otherwise, I wouldn't have known that this song exists. Honestly, thank you. Air Catcher used to be one of my favourite songs in my big twenty one pilots phase (2014-2019?). Now that I'm older, I have a new appreciation for Self-Titled, but it's hard to call it one of their best when the production is awful and the vocals are shaky. Crazy how much better that mix is!
opinions do be like that sometimes. Seriously though, I would absolutely love if they remade some of those songs in the same way they remade songs for Vessel. I do really like the core of every song on RAB, but the audio quality and performances aren't as good as their later music.
Overcompensate Chlorine Heathens The hype Not today No chances Never take it Formidable Legend The run and go The judge The outside Choker Bandito Smithereens Bounce man Mulberry street We don't believe what's on TV Nicole and the nines Morph Message man stressed out Ride Polarize My blood doubt migraine Good day Hometown Lane boy Fairly local Cut my lip Saturday Heavy dirty soul Shy away Tear in my heart Screen
Implicit demand for proof has gotta be my favorite. The way he screams "down" at the end i just feel it so much And the weird wooshing synth sound at the end sounds like how my childhood felt??? Idk how to explain it
I really appreciate you doing this. For me personally, I carry the lyrics of Never Take It in my pocket and Car Radio is a continual life-changing experience.
There are definitely some aspects of Choker that I like! The bridge and how it flows into the final chorus is pretty cool. What about it makes you put it in your top 15? Honestly, which each of those songs, there's something about them that I like, it's just that that I'm not a fan of the final product. (The "your redemption won't grow stale" verse from Lovely is sick tho.) I'm glad you like those songs! I think that's proof of the power of music and how people can like different things
@@unprofishional i really think self-titled is one of my favourites. but some songs from blurryface and trench are also really special to me. tøp has really been super important to my current music tast
I was not paying attention on what song was missing when you got to number 1, and I was so salty when you said what it was because Taxi Cab is my favorite TØP song as well! For pretty much the same reasons. The song has so much personal meaning to me as well, and tbh I've never really minded any of the flaws in the songs of Self Titled, because I just love the album and how all the songs sound.
Glad to see another Taxi Cab enthusiast, haha! Yeah, Self Titled is a solid debut album. It has some of the most personal lyrics across all of their music
car radio will always have a special place in my heart because when i was like 5 or 6 my older brother showed me the music video and it made me cry for some reason and he hugged me and it was like a genuine hug, and i don’t get those from him very often so it’s nice to remember that. as well as that i grew on up twenty one pilots with my older brothers mp3 player lmao
thse mfs at youtube removed my firts comment but damn, this list knocked me on my feet, i was dumbfounded, flabbergasted even. we need to talk my brudda.
I would not be able to do a video like this because there would probably be like 10-20 songs below a 5 a few at 6 and then the rest are all like 7,8,9 and 10s 😭 cause like self titled is my favorite album, I love the sound of the piano and some of the messier vocals but the messages his sooo hard. And almost all of the songs from RAB that aren’t rereleased on vessel I go out of my way often to listen to them on TH-cam and rock out because I love them sm 😭
okay but the vessel version of lovely is a bit like trees in that it just gets you pumped, isle of flightless birds is long but it has such a great atmosphere and tyler sings it really well. air catcher studio version is also just phenominal, especially that bridge where he sings his heart out. and finally bandito is actually getting the recognition it deserves, it is one of my all time favourite songs.
The Vessel version of Lovely is without a doubt leagues better than the RAB version, and Isle of Flightless Birds definitely has a great atmosphere. I'm glad we both have Bandito in our top favorites! I love it a lot
OH MISS BELIEVER!!! Its was the first song of theirs that I consciously listened to because yt recommended it to me. I had heard ride and stressed out of course but oh miss believer made me listen to everything. I liked this video a lot, it's so nice to hear someone talk about something you love
Car Radio is the first TØP song I ever listened to and I never went back. It fit so well for my life at the time and now it’s a fine reminder of how far I’ve come.
It's bittersweet whenever you outgrow a song. Re-listening can be nostalgic, but like you said, it's a great feeling realizing how much you've grown as a person
Taxi Cab is a criminally underrated song that has been one of my top favorite songs of all time ever since I heard it for the first time in like 2016. Such an incredible song that has meant so much to me and the rap is one of their best things they’ve made. God, I love it so much.
Is it weird that my favorite album is Vessel because I discovered tøp in 2012? I always thought Trench and especially Scaled and Icy were a tier below Vessel. Maybe every listener has a soft spot for their first listening experience because of what they perceive was their "original" sound. Because as tøp has matured, it seems like they left their mid 2010's depressed yet hopeful vibes of piano/synth/ playful melodies for a myriad of sounds because they're backed by uber amounts of money and sound design expertise. And it just doesn't sit as well with me as their first couple albums did. I guess I just appreciate their older sounds because they're not super produced and polished and therefore more honest and raw. tøp always embodied that kind of music for me.
I don't think that's terribly weird. It makes sense that we all judge music based on the music we've heard before, and that's probably one of the reasons I don't like Scaled and Icy as much as Trench. And I get how a less produced sound might sound more honest. I feel something similar with songs that are more stripped back and only have a few instruments.
"I feel like I like this song more than I should" at Two. Oh dear I FELT THAT. All Trench songs making it into top 25 is not a coincidence :) although Nico And The Niners will always be iconic for me, I can't get over how much I adore LEAVE THE CITY (FUCKING BEAUTIFULLLLLL I CRIED SO MUCH LISTENING TO IT XJDNDJSK I NEED TO BINGE LISTEN TO IT AGAIN THANKS FOR REMINDING ME) Redecorate, Trees, Bandito, Truce, Jumpsuit, Forest, Chlorine, Neon Gravestones, Morph😭😭😭 why are these all so great. And Taxi Cab is goated. 💜
Always glad to meet another Trench lover 💛 Leave the City is a freaking beautiful song!!! Whenever it starts playing, I HAVE to listen to it all the way through. And the piano chords to Taxi Cab will forever live rent-free in my head
Album Rankings 1. Blurryface (top three songs. 1. Goner 2.The Judge 3.Hometown) 2. Trench (top three songs. 1. Leave the City 2.Jumpsuit 3.Morph) 3. Vessel (top three songs. 1. Migraine 2.Guns for Hands 3.Car Radio) 4. Self-Titled (top three songs. 1. A Car, a Torch, a Death 2.Friend, Please 3.Isle of Flightless Birds) 5. SAI (top three songs. 1. Redecorate 2. No Chances 3. A Car, a Torch, a Death honestly competes with Taxi Cab for me when it comes to powerful lyrics, so I totally get why it's your favorite from Self-Titled
Just stumbled upon this, and I find it really interesting to see you take on some songs that I love, and some of the ones that I actively despise. To me, Trench and RAB are my quintessential twenty one pilots albums.
I'm glad it was an interesting watch for you! Discussing music with others is a really fun pastime just to see the range of opinions people can have. I think it's really cool both RAB and Trench are up there for you because most people tend to like one or the other but not both.
@unprofishional I'm a huge fan of music demos from bands I love, so Regional at Best is like a proper collection of the band's most rocky period. It's super interesting being able to hear them pave the way for things to come. Musically, lyrically, and thematically, Trench is a masterpiece. Truly their magnum opus
I can't really say much about this video because I'm just so biased towards this band. Pretty much everything they release I find enjoyment in. But I appreciate the video nonetheless. It's an interesting look into your feelings on them
Thank you! And honestly, I really admire that you still like Bounce Man with so many other people ragging on it. That song deserves at least a little love.
You literally read my mind with Two! lol. Also, It's really weird when you take my favorite songs of all time and say, "It wasn't that good."... have a nice day friends
I'm sorry I ranked some of your favorite songs lower. Which ones in particular did you want to see higher on the list? Everyone has different reactions to songs, so I'm interested to see which songs meant a lot to you
@@unprofishional Clear, Forest, Goner (the original one), Glowing Eyes, Anathema, Pet Cheetah, Migraine, Car Radio and a few others, though I do appreciate Trench being so high up, I also love Trench to pieces.
@@LisaRehm I do love the meaning of Clear and a lot of the other songs from RAB. From that perspective, I completely understand why those songs mean so much to people. And I'm glad you love Trench too!
A lot of people look at twenty one pilots as the edgy cringey band with nothing great to offer, but whether or not the songs are to everyone’s taste, People gotta admit that even if the lyrics aren’t amazing all the time, twenty one pilots INSTRUMENTALS are almost ALWAYS fire. Like Lane Boy, lyrics are a bit odd but the music itself 🔥🔥🔥🔥
We definitely don't have congruent opinions, but good video! Thanks for helping me remember the titles of some of their more obscure songs, I was having trouble finding them
why did you rank all the RaB songs so low! personally its my favorite album because some of the best vessel songs come from it. Also you should make another video like this when they release their next album because i love this video and i have watched it like 37,451 times.
I'm a big fan of addict with a pen, a car, a torch, a death, trapdoor and isle of flightless birds, but the best to me is taxi cab as well. The rap part is insane. Love it.
Thank you! Yeah, I don't ever want to make it seem like my opinion is law. One of my favorite things is hearing people explain why a song is important to them
It took me a second to understand what you meant by "the underwater-sounding synth" on Smithereens, but after replaying the song in my head, that is literally such a spot-on way to describe it. Definitely has some mario underwater theme vibes imo. 19:12 Also, when you described Trench as "this is my drug" you put into words exactly how I feel about that album 😂

Cut My Lip is probably my favorite song ever
it is underrated outside the clique, but inside it is probably the very fan favourite
Putting my favorite RAB tracks like Slowtown and Anathema so low hurt. And putting Ruby down there with them was like a punch to the face 😭 (still watched the whole video)
Maybe it's pretentious but non-vessel RAB is my favorite album because of it's flaws.
I really like a lot of the songs from RAB that didn’t get remastered. The ones that did the RAB versions are just objectively worse imo.
@@BrVendan I'd be really interested if they ever remastered those remaining songs, cause I agree that they're all strong concepts
This happen to me with kitchen sink. I might be a little bit pretentious for some people, but for some like me, is just what we've been feeling for so long but can't say or express in words. This song is always so cathartic, saying "go away, leave me alone" non-stop until he breaks and screams for not being left alone, the song itself cries as he screams for help like that knot on the throat finally loosen and-
It gets me every fucking time, I can't stop crying when I scream with him, letting all go, and at the end of the mess, calm... Calm and the piano, is just... After the storm, and screaming, everything fades and I'm a baby at that point, bawlling my eyes out. Hugging and telling myself that I'll be okay.
Ruby is just amazing and I can't really say why
Man Trench has gotten me through so much man, Easily My favorite album. You know it’s great when it’s still fantastic after 3 years
Chlorine was my favorite song for so long man
Holding on To You is absolutely perfect in every way to me. It means so much to me, I love the diversity in sound while still sounding cohesive
Yeah, it's my favourite song too!
Whenever someone asks what my favorite song is, it's always Holding Onto You. Will always be my favorite song.
same.
definitely in my top 10 faves
same :,)
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I NEEDED TO SEE SOMEONE WITH TAXI CAB AT #1 IT IS THE GREATEST SONG.
Just want to let you know that I've been coming back to this comment every week cause it makes me happy, lol
Duuuuude Taxi cab is awesome
This is my No 1 too.
The instrumental it's just... magical. Like galaxy, starry night, a dark sky, so mysterious and scary but fascinating anyways
you described it perfectly i got chills
It's so interesting to see, how much people's taste in music differ. I love "Anathema" because of the last 30 seconds. Loved the video, keep up the good work brother.
Same! His calm voice singing low and soft while the instrumental it's going crazy is amazing, feels like you're standing while a hurricane is around-
i just love the blaring distorted music playing while the singing is just normal, that’s what makes the song for me
@@HuMan-bEing132 yeah! Maybe I'm giving the song so much more credit that what it is, but it's a beautiful metaphor of the song itself. The music is so chaotic in the background, like it was what's going through his mind, and sings so calmly and normal as he shows himself around others. (And he singed before "you will never now what's inside my head / you will never now what I'm thinking now)
His voice is what he is saying, and the music what he is thinking. His mind is going wild, loud and distorted while he's speaking so casually. It's just beautiful
Anathema is for me, the saddest top song. Reminds of times where my head was fucked up
it's so refreshing seeing so many trench tracks so high up on your list. i feel like when it first came out a lot of old fans were wary abt giving it a chance, but it's such a complex and well put together album from tøp. it's also super cool seeing taxi cab at #1, as that's my favorite off self titled and the one song i would save too :]
also justice for never take it my bbgirl doesn't deserve that LOL
Yeah, Trench sounds very different than something like Vessel, but it's so incredibly well made. I love it very much, haha. And I'm glad you feel the same way about Taxi Cab!
Sorry about Never Take it lol
Yessir the eddsworld pfp
agreed with everything. also definitely justice for never take it.
When bro said Taxi Cab I lost my shit.
My brother, you get me. That song's piano, the song's lyrics, it's so powerful.
“Sometimes we will die and sometimes we will fly away, either way you’re by my side until my dying days and if I’m not there and I’m far away I said “don’t be afraid, we’re going home”
I don’t know how this song is meaningful to you but this line right here forever changed my relationship with God.
It does give me a kind of strange feeling like finding myself questioning life, but it still has to be one of my all time favorites! xD
Making you question life is just a testament to its power, lol
But seriously, it's a phenomenal song
I think it’s the most underrated off Trench
and it’s incredible live!
6:25 the first time I ever heard Cancer was the twenty one pilots version, it took me like seven months to find out it wasn’t an original song. I liked the lyrics and how Tyler’s voice sounded on it but I thought the chorus was weird. Then I googled it and found out it was a My Chemical Romance I played the heck out of it, but the tøp version still hits different, I just love the vocals
Also when I listen to it in my earbuds the bass makes my eyeballs vibrate
The twenty one pilots version was the first time I heard it too, haha! And I'm still glad their version exists even if I don't listen to it very much.
Also, your comment about the bass made me laugh, so thank you for that
I feel personally attacked by how low you ranked Isle Of Flightless Birds but you gave the TOPxMM version of Tear In My Heart the recognition it deserves so I'll forgive it.
Thank you for your mercy
And I wasn’t jazzed right away with Shy Away, and a couple other songs from that album, on the first listen, but came around to love that song, and now Scaled and Icy ❄️is , in my opinion, a GREAT album !!!
Shy Away has definitely grown on me since my first listen, and while I still don't love SAI, sometimes I'm in the perfect mood for it
Bounce man slander will not be tolerated
IKR I LOVE BOUNCE MAN
But they did state their opinion so it's ok
Fr 😭
How could you hate it it’s so good
REAL
I'm originally from a snowy area as well, so I totally get that feeling, and it's great to know there are plenty of us that appreciate Cut My Lip
This is probably only band whose songs i cant rank. :d
I mean, I like watching the tube as much as the next guy, but I dunno if I want to listen to a song about it :P
Seriously though, I'm glad you enjoy those songs more than I do
@@unprofishional Yea I get what you mean, but it has like a vibe✨yk... also great vid, house of gold NEEDED to be humbled.
I just think their music production has gotten a lot better since then

omg i cant explain how happy i was when i saw taxi cab on first place, this song means so much to me and im very happy to see other people that see it the same way as me
Taxi Cab is pure emotional catharsis, and I love it very much
Same same same..😭
It's still my favourite to this day and I love it
I do appreciate your view. I think I can tell that you started listening to twenty one pilots later in their career than me. I say that because you criticized the poor production quality of their old stuff whereas I praise it. It just shows that they were at a different time of their lives and I appreciate that.
Formidable is the cutest song ever
It's without a doubt incredibly sweet
@@joacooy8754 You're hilarious and you should be very proud
As long as there are SAI song in the t.20 I’m happy, bc I love the album
Loved the video, the humor was *chefs kiss* and made me crack up a ton.
As for my favorite song/songs, it’s tied between jumpsuit and migraine. Jumpsuit I love bc of the sound of the song mostly, more specifically the distorted bass. And migraine is a song that I just love bc it I can relate to it a lot, and sonically it sounds so freaking good.
I'm glad you liked it! :D
And those are both solid choices! The bass guitar is definitely an S tier instrument. Also, the line "a difficult beast feasting on burnt down trees" in Migraine is incredibly satisfying to say.
Lesson Learned: Trench is the best TØP album
Songs you can connect with get taken to the next level. I'm glad to hear Taxi Cab is one of those songs for you too!
the side eye i gave you when you ranked isle of birds and anathema and ruby (as well as other rab songs) so low was vengeful but it’s okay. your rankings and reasonings are actually so well thought out and i can tell you put so much work into this one! also i don’t think a single soul could argue with your number one. it is also my number one, and tyler’s number one for a reason. i also think a large part of peoples rankings, and especially the love for certain songs come from the sentimental/emotional connection we have with the work. yes ruby can be viewed as… objectively pitchy or whatever, but when i first heard that song my god my heart shattered. when i see sunsets now, and i’m not joking like every sunset, i hear the tracks intro. this is because of the og lyrics video background lol. and like ruby, isle of flightless birds, implicit demand for proof, taxi cab, and many many others, it’s the special moment and emotions you have for them that make them special. good job!
Sorry for putting those songs so low, haha! :P
But sincerely, thank you very much for the compliment.
I can't think of a concept album that works as well as it does
Dude, the lead up to Trench was freaking hype. I will always have fond memories of it.
Fav songs from each album:
Self Titled: The Pantaloon
RaB: Two
Vessel: Trees
Blurryface: Message Man
Trench: Cut My Lip
Scaled and Icy: The Outside
I respect all of those choices
Respect for being able to rate all these songs! I don't think i could. But man i love Regional at Best. Be concerned might be one of my favourite twenty one pilots songs.
Ranking them all was tough, but fun, haha! It was interesting learning what my preferences were.
And Be Concerned definitely has a sweet sounding instrumental and an emotional message, so I get why you'd like it
Hometown is such an underrated song. Top 15 for me. It gives Depeche mode vibes. WhyII love this band just so many sounds from them
4:18 wdym is my ringtone since it came out 🥲
5:22 I can forgive you for Hometown, but this one- I can't

7:54 whY
8:37 ......... this is painful
13:27 Ok, I forgive you for everything just for this
15:09 At the beginning I didn't liked this song that, I liked more Mulberry Street. But when I gave myself time for actually listening it, man, it hits hard. I cry everytime
16:26 it is.
16:32 Sahlo Folina
17:15 my gOD, THIS ONE. "In time I will leave the city. For now I will stay alive" I singed this with so much emotion everytime I needed to hold myself together, svicidal thoughts sometimes gets me, but damn, I promised I would stay alive
18:04 ok, that was unexpected-
Regional at best is actually one of my favorites albums, but I could not do this list.
Glad you had fun reading me too ✨
Leave the city and trees are 2 of my favorite songs ever. Such masterpieces!
Let's gooo! I love them so much
Pretty good list though Isle of flightless birds being so low is criminal haha
Ruby. Legend and Two are my favourite songs they have created.
oddly enough when you revealed taxi cab, i was like "EW. that's one of my least favourites."
and that, my frens, is the funniest thing about differing opinions. the shock you get
anyway, my favourites (off each album, in no particular order) are message man, redecorate, be concerned, isle of flightless birds, migraine and cut my lip
but if i had to say favourites for emotional experience: leave the city (concert) and anathema (family related)
Opinions do be like that sometimes, lol. Happy to see Cut My Lip is one of your favorites from Trench too!
me casually twiddling my thumb to hear the thoughts this legend has on clancy, some people wait for brad taste in musics thoughts, others, fantano, but for me it will always be unprofishional.
It'll happen eventually! Trying to re-rank every song while including clancy, the livestream album, and the mtv unplugged EP is proving difficult, lol
Cut my lip lives in my head 24/7 great list
Just happy glowing eyes made it somewhat high on the list. Idk what I like about rab tracks they don’t sound good but simultaneously are some of the purest and most raw songs I’ve heard before.
RAB definitely has a homemade vibe, and TOP has always been good at making strong melodies, so I get why so many people like it
Your top 10 are so based, I completely agree!
It's such a phenomenal track. Whenever it starts playing, I have to listen to the whole thing, haha
Crazy how much better that mix is!
bruh RAB has some of the best songs. slowtown. glowing eyes. ruby. i can’t believe that someone could have such a different opinion than me
opinions do be like that sometimes.
Seriously though, I would absolutely love if they remade some of those songs in the same way they remade songs for Vessel. I do really like the core of every song on RAB, but the audio quality and performances aren't as good as their later music.

My favorites TØP song is My Blood
I think Choker is really underrated it’s a top 15 top song for me.
And am I the only one who really likes Lovely, Ruby, and Anathema.
There are definitely some aspects of Choker that I like! The bridge and how it flows into the final chorus is pretty cool. What about it makes you put it in your top 15?
Honestly, which each of those songs, there's something about them that I like, it's just that that I'm not a fan of the final product. (The "your redemption won't grow stale" verse from Lovely is sick tho.)
I'm glad you like those songs! I think that's proof of the power of music and how people can like different things

idk man, this content deserves more attention, hope you could see another day like this one.
Thank you! I need to make a list of video ideas cause it's been a while since I made something
implicit demand for proof, the piano intro, is just, chefs kiss, one of my favourites ever

That's an absolutely wonderful connection to have with a song! I'm glad that's stuck with you
thse mfs at youtube removed my firts comment but damn, this list knocked me on my feet, i was dumbfounded, flabbergasted even. we need to talk my brudda.
Same bro I actually laughed when he put taxi cab at number one
I like RAB lovely better ngl

ranking hometown lower than saturday is insane
If I re-did this list, I would lower Saturday to a 4/10 if that makes it any better
Wow, I hated every second of this. Car Radio at 48 was a horrible take. Terrible list. I will now subscribe to this channel for more content.
Taxi Cab is a criminally underrated song that has been one of my top favorite songs of all time ever since I heard it for the first time in like 2016. Such an incredible song that has meant so much to me and the rap is one of their best things they’ve made. God, I love it so much.
I respect your opinion, although it is wrong
this was sooo satisfying, and taxi cab is truly beautiful
Always glad to meet another Trench lover 💛
Leave the City is a freaking beautiful song!!! Whenever it starts playing, I HAVE to listen to it all the way through.
And the piano chords to Taxi Cab will forever live rent-free in my head
Album Rankings

A Car, a Torch, a Death honestly competes with Taxi Cab for me when it comes to powerful lyrics, so I totally get why it's your favorite from Self-Titled
@@unprofishional and taxi cab is probably number four, I love that song too
Okay, I guess I'll do it
1. Trench
2. Self-Titled
3. Blurryface
4. Vessel
5. Scaled and Icy
6. Regional at Best
Very interesting opinions there. I definitely feel your passion for trench. For me it also always felt like the most complete top album
I completely agree. It's such a cohesive experience
Hometown as well, I learned that song on the piano because it means a lot to me, so now I have the entire song memorized :)
@@LisaRehm I do love the meaning of Clear and a lot of the other songs from RAB. From that perspective, I completely understand why those songs mean so much to people.
And I'm glad you love Trench too!
I was shocked to see the quality of this video then notice that you only had a few hundred subscribers. Amazing job dude!
Thank you very much! :D
I did my best
I would have to disagree with hometown, it is a cool little song which is soo under appreciated
Glad you like it so much! I'll give it another try the next time I listen through Blurryface
One of my favorite. I just picture it as a rainy day song.
Taxi Cab will be our first dance this coming August. Was super happy to see it top!
Lane Boy definitely sounds sick! They can set a mood really well, and their melodies are usually very strong
isle of flightless birds is a lyrical masterpiece and no one can convince me otherwise
Is it just me or did he miss polarize and migrain?
i couldn’t see Morph anywhere on the list either, but I may have missed it somehow?
Taxi Cab is so fire I was thinking you didn't rank heavydirtysoul
Johnny Boy and The Pantaloon are way too underrated songs!!!!
Even though they're not in my top songs, I'd still say they're fun to listen to!
Love it.
I was so pumped when you said taxi cab at #1, since number 25 I was like "where's taxi cab" songs underrated. Good list
Thank you! I'm glad there are other people that like Taxi Cab as much as I do! :D
Taxi Cab is one of my favourite songs
WOW our tastes are completely, and I mean ‘COMPLETELY’ different, but I appreciate you making this video, fellow clickie 😊
You're welcome! And thank you for still watching it despite how different our tastes are!
In my opinion trapdoor 1-5 place,it's one of the most underrated songs
I definitely think it's underrated even though it's not as high on my list
@@unprofishional True, rest of the top big W, except maybe fairly local, but imo
I appreciate that your criticisms were never "the song is bad cause I don't like how they did x", it's always "I personally dislike x about y song"
Thank you! Yeah, I don't ever want to make it seem like my opinion is law. One of my favorite things is hearing people explain why a song is important to them
Something tells me this guy likes the trench album…
Darn, what gave it away?
Ngl, "two" gave me nightmares the first time I listened
Redeemed zoomer you listen to tøp?? That's great
I HEAR OMORI MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND
:D
It took me a second to understand what you meant by "the underwater-sounding synth" on Smithereens, but after replaying the song in my head, that is literally such a spot-on way to describe it. Definitely has some mario underwater theme vibes imo.
19:12 Also, when you described Trench as "this is my drug" you put into words exactly how I feel about that album 😂
Clancy is out... chop chop music boy
I remember I did not like Cut My Lip at first, it took me to see TOP live to actually appreciate the song and the love I have for it now is pure.
