I am SO glad I found your TH-cam page...when starting this class I had absolutely no clue what I'm the world I was looking at nor was I getting any direction from my instructor. I'm really starting to get the hang of it now! However, I I'm looking at my balance score card and for round two I'm coming out between 60 and 62 and my profit is only 1.7...I definitely don't want to compare myself to yours but I didn't know if those were good numbers or not. My team is doing exceptionally well though
Honestly, I remember the scorecard being lower than what I thought it should be at the time, but I don't remember what is good or bad as far as scores on the scorecard are concerned any more. Profit, stock price, and market share we how I decided if I was doing well... and the national ranking ;)

I did decent overall, but how can I rectify this on the second round so that my company is in a good position? I also sold 500 shares of stock, issued the max long term debt, and have $1,000 short term debt. Which round should I start paying these back?Thank you!
Your forecasting math needs to be adjusted. If you're just guessing in your forecasting, you can either try to reverse engineer the forecasting or I can analyze a round for you, showing you how I do it. I don't understand how to go about the high tech and low tech areas. The numbers in R&D you talked about low tech and high tech but I don't seem to see how the low tech numbers affect the R&D figures
I need more clarity for your question. If you want your product to sell in the low tech market, you'll need to adjust your product in r&d so that it will hit the parameters that the low tech customer is looking for. Does that help?
If you get the same results, you'll probably pass however, making the exact decisions I did will not give you the exact same results if you're playing against other players. There are many variables at play

I get this question a lot. I should probably do a video just on this question alone. The problem is, I always forget which one I chose. I believe when I did this assignment of telling which one I did, I told the professor that I was mixing 2 of them. My goal was to have the most market share with the highest stock price while keeping as many products in the market as possible and as relevant as possible. I hope that helps.
You don't have to borrow anything as long as you budget properly... but I highly recommend people borrow more and improve more. It makes your company more profitable, from my experience.
Hi Sir.I think you got some concepts wrong coz you were looking at the Positioning report of year1 and when you making the decisions for year2 (in your case 2019) has to get the drift adjusted Pfmnc and Size values. (this is really important in high tech industry). Further, total sales quantity is the summation of both High and Low tech and you have not considered it for Able. Pls advice on this. Thanks Sir!!
Yes, total sales would include both. For forecasting purposes, you probably want to figure the number of products likely to sell in your specific market. Over forecasting causes over production, and then high inventory costs. Feel free to compare my choices in this video with the results. Between the two videos, you should be able to make a wise conclusion.

The simulator won't give you 100% market share, but it is possible to get a lion's share. I have a video on forecasting production where I give you an idea of how to predict the number you'll sell. It should help.

You can make that decision on your own. For instance, you can make all low tech or all high tech products or a mix of the two. The more of one product that you make, the higher your likely market share, as long as you're in line with your competitors. For instance, if there are 7 low tech products and 4 are yours, you'll probably have over 50%market share. I like to come out with a product during each round if I can. I also like to mix low and high and change mid game...keep my competitorson their toes...
last round you got points in the 50's/80. how did your score get so high? my finances are in the negatives and idk how to get them out of the negatives. I've borrowed the max long term.

It sounds like you have a wave of inventory by over producing your first round (if you're on the 2nd round, that is). There has to be a delicate balance because you don't want to completely stop production, but you need to cut it back to sell off what you need and yet keep your workers working. I don't have your numbers, but you should have an idea of what you'll sell the next round based partly on what you sold last round. I have a video on predicting sales. Take a look and see if it helps.

It's not good for later rounds, but if it's your first round, you're probably ok. Accessibility is done through your promotion/ marketing efforts. Max those areas and you'll see that number rise.

On the Financials page, it shows you your expected funds at the end of the round. Also on the r&d page, it shows you how much it'll cost to perform the r&d. Is that what you're looking for?
You bet. By lowering the days you wait to pay your debts, the faster the suppliers send their goods. This usually means your productivity can increase.

If you can't change the recruiting numbers, training hours, or percentage of staff on hand, your simulator may not allow it yet. There are some settings instructors turn on, as I understand it, though I could be wrong.
1.2 is equal to 120%. The idea is that the amount of units sold this round will grow 20%. You can calculate it 2 ways. Either multiplying by 20% and adding it to the number of units sold or doing the short cut off multiplying by 120%, or 1.2.

Our balance scorecard is currently at 62.7 and we can't seem to get it to rise any. The areas currently doing poorly in the score card are contribution margin, profits, customer accessibility, and the learning and growth section. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you! We have already plugged in your numbers for round 2 video. Our teacher said we did poor last round and were forced to take out an emergency loan because our products didn't sell due to high price and low value. We were left with about 350 inventory. Thank you!
I've been sick and didn't see this comment until now. You should take out a long-term loan, most likely, and use the proceeds from that to make your plant more automated. That will bring your contribution margin more in competition with the others and your product cheaper to make. As for accessibility, you just need to make sure you're properly investing in marketing. I usually suggest no less than 2M, but if you can do 4-5, you should be solid. It really depends on how well you believe your forecasting math is.

You go to your proforma. It's no guarantee because it does the math based on your numbers, but it helps ballpark the figures.
