I am tired of seeing that stupid ceausescu's policies praised; so what if there was no debt in 1989? there was also NO FOOD! currently romania's public debt is 30% of gdp; the EU limit on that debt for stability purposes is 60% in other words romania still hugely benefits from little public debt; so what? there's also little economic growth; it's not the debt that's the problem it's what you do with it; it should be invested; I for one trust the EU a million times more

Well I don't know if Turkey is European or not, but it's the 15th largest economy in the world and 5th largest economy of Europe with 10% economic growth per year. And it's way better developped than Bulgaria and Romania.
