I'm not gonna lie. I was shocked when you started singing. Your voice is not what I was I expecting. Absolutely gorgeous sounding. I just couldn't stop watching. So unique.
Amber, It’s that beautiful Irish “lilt,” gorgeous and so unique. Not for sure but seems especially unique to Scotland, Ireland, and other countries as well, I’m sure. Think of Dolores O’Roirdon of the Cranberries, Lorena McKennet, and Sinead o’Connor just for a start. It’s my understanding that this area of the world with its unique sound became the gennises, of our own country western music. At one point in history there was a mass migration of the Scots-Irish to parts of the American South., because of famines(?) If one takes time to listen, it’s all right there, embedded in both the sound and the lyrics. This young beautiful Janet Devlin with the purity of her vocals is the best way to acquaint yourself to this a Celtic sound. It will not disappoint.
As an Irish person who followed The Cranberries from the beginning, I have to tell you that I loved your cover of this thought provoking iconic song. You paid a wonderful tribute to Dolores. She was absolutely unique, Her voice and The Cranberries music defined a generation. But it is also timeless. Their songs are as fresh and as relevant today as they were in the 90's. The world lost a music giant but she gifted us with an incredible legacy
As you have said, the legacy of The Cranberries is timeless and totally universal. I am a boy who was lucky enough to grow up in the 90s with the talent of a band like The Cranberries, a Spanish kid who from childhood was dazzled by the talent of Dolores and the boys. Dolores will always remain in the hearts of many people.
I was fortunate enough to see Dolores and the guys, live, on three different occasions, here in the states, each time I fell more in Love with The Cranberries, and their music, fronted of course, by Dolores, she was so dynamic, yet so gentle & caring. Yes we lost in this physical world, but in the world of Spirit, our true home, "D" is alive and well, and making the rounds. I would say RIP, but that wasn't Dolores's style, I'm sure she's out there/here mixing it up with the best of um. For our Wild Irish Rose 🌹 And Janet, ya done good Girl !!!! : th-cam.com/video/8MuhFxaT7zo/w-d-xo.html
Wow it's strange but when you sing it's so emotional it actually makes my heart ache. You're an unbelievable talent Janet and the Children of Ireland still have someone to look up to! Dolores would be so proud well done. ❤🍀❤
Mom and dad are you looking for the surrounding countryside fragrances Park my own personal information to help you find the cheapest option, , please contact me. ... Joppa the surrounding 😀😀💋💋💋💋💋💕💕💕💕💝💝💝💝💝
22 years ago I had a really rough time in my life and when it calmed down I listened a lot to cranberries, since then their music have always made me feel good. The news that Dolores had gone away struck me on a heart level. But with musicians like you I know the Dolores legacy will always keep on going. Stay true to yourself and never become mainstream because you definitely got me as a subscriber ❤️
Janet... you did Dolores proud!!! Amazing and captivating cover. Well done young lady! You have a gift and there are those of us who appreciate you sharing that gift with us. Thank you. We love you!!!
Janet, I swear when I first saw your audition I imagined you singing this song. Your voice is perfectly suited for it! It was so beautiful! Keep up the good work. Cheers from Brazil!
I don’t know what you other people are talking about but it has nothing to do with this persons comment. Maybe y’all should not Be drunk when you comment on shit
Such a hauntingly beautiful tribute. I find myself returning to this video now and then to simply sit in silence for awhile, to re-experience your heart-wrenching rendition, to remember Dolores and to contemplate the lasting impact of the troubles...
I'm a big fan of the original to the point I hold it in high enough regard that any cover done I judge harshly. You have, IMO, been the first to truly capture the essence of this amazing song. This is great.
I agree with Michael York the Bad Wolves cover is amazingly on point. Its emotional and conforms amazingly well to the originals message. Not to mention Dolores herself was supposed to sing for it but passed away literally the day she was supposed to sing. It was tragic but almost like she was passing the torch on to future generations. Letting young people truly appreciate the scope of monumentally moving music and make it their own. No one will ever sing it like Dolores but no one has to as long as they sing it!
I'm so reminded of the passion of Dolores O'Riordan with your rendition. A cry of lament and anger in this plea of a song. This is her anthem. You have done it justice.
This is one of my favorite songs in the world and I am never a huge fan of covers for it as nobody can give it glory... Then you come along and bring life to it. Beautiful cover. This is the best ever.
It's dyed which you can tell from the roots and if you watched her audition on x factor but I have to agree, it's so pretty and even I thought it was natural for a while
Every now and then I have to check in with you just to make sure my tear ducts still work. I believe you have saved my life couple of times your awesome.
Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaking? Lost my heart to a green eyed red headed Irish girl way back in 1985 in a pub in Cheltenham. She played with me like a puppet on a string and once finished playing threw me into the toy box. Thank you Jenny Maguire for all of the pleasure and a life time of longing. Still love ya after all these yrs.
Ozan Dağ yes thank you, just a long day, couldn't get to sleep after 1am, spent an HR almost feeling sick in the gym, had a brief at work followed by an HR and a half brief with nothing really but bad news so this video helped bring a bit of happiness to the day
I still listen to you randomly, through the years, after seeing you preform for the first time so young. I’ve always been so obsessed with your voice and presence, that I’ve never forgotten who you were. I’ll always be coming back for more 👀👂🏻🎶
It was so nice. The way you sang it gave more meaning to the lirycs, also it was apparent that this was more emotional for you than other covers. On a happier note I cant wait for your stageit as usual!
She has a very distinctive voice. The breathy, high pitch, the way she breaks between words, the accent. I love it. It definitely doesn't work with every song. I just watched an X Factor compilation, and some songs didn't fit her unique voice. This one really does, though. I really like this cover.
THANK YOU! 😍 I've been waiting for so long for a permanent cover of this from you as I'd only heard it in your Stage It shows. R.I.P to one the all time greats 😢
Cranberries were a great band. Dolores O'Riordan was a special vocalist long before all of the breathless copiers came out of the woodwork. Janet Devlin did a great job covering Zombie.
Thank you for finding your calling so quickly! I love to hear the Irish speak. It’s even more awesome to hear them sing! I love your voice and your style of singing.
This is such a powerful, moving cover of an iconic song by Dolores O'Riordan and the Cranberries. You do an amazing job conveying the pain and anger at the heart of the song. Fantastic.
I don't know about any other person in the comments, but I love the accent she has. I could sleep listening to it. Just every word has a different pronunciation to it. the Irish have such a smooth melodic sound when they speak and it's lovely.
Amazing as always, your voice is truly spectacular and gave justice to this great song by Dolores. I will miss her, but she will live on though you...thank you for that great performance.
Absolutely breathtaking!! That was a song that I thought could never become more haunting and ethereal . . . But you’ve done it!! Bravo! You really brought out another layer and depth in an already chilling piece. Also, I love seeing your curly red mane in its full wild glory! And this was a perfect video for it!
Wow. I'm speechless. Your voice transmitted so much, your eyes too, I can feel every word you said not only by your amazing voice tone but because of your facial expressions. Thanks for this beautiful cover ♥
Usually I can't stand covers as they always leave something to be desired but this one and this artist did a magnificent job of putting just the right amount of feeling and emotion into this one, just like the original! I tip my hat to you, Miss Janet Devlin, and hope you enjoy a long and fruitful life, without all the pain that is expressed in this song that speaks to me so much, as I live it every single day, and have for many, many years now. P.S. You are only the second person I have ever seen that has those haunting beautiful eyes that you do. The other one is my daughter.
Someone’s irrationally angry about a cover of a song. Take a break from the internet for a little bud, you seem like you need it lol. Little too stressed out
Just heard this, and thank you! There's nothing like hearing a song that moves you, take you to another level by a new singer. I know this is a few years old, but I had to say.
I don't know why but playing back the entire back catalogue of Janets at 1.25x seems to make them sound even better. This is a personal classic of mine that holds personal value as the Bad Wolves version was played at my wedding.
Second only to Delores, this is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard....Janet, you totally do it justice, suits your unique voice so well...and the simple video just focusing on you, your astonishingly beautiful red hair and voice is perfect. Great job!
Beautifully executed by Janet Devlin , ladies and gents. One thing for sure : if Dolores will be still around she will be very proud of your performance . RIP Dolores. & well done Janet for your originality and beautifullyness of your performance ❤(is this word does even exist in the dictionary 😜?)
I'm not gonna lie. I was shocked when you started singing. Your voice is not what I was I expecting.
Absolutely gorgeous sounding. I just couldn't stop watching. So unique.
Amber Ryder should’ve seen her sing “Your Song” for the first time on live TV
Amber,

She looked like Meghan Trainer!
its exactly what all these new singers are trying to do. Purposely miss pronouncing words to sound unique . But its stupid and they all sound dumb.
shut the fuck up
I've been listening to The Cranberries since the early 90s. RIP Dolores O'Riordan.
I love your version Janet. I feel every note.
Dolores what a singer. Also my first celeb crush haha
I think Janet did the song justice.
The second I heard Janet sing I thought of Her.. so glad She did a cover!

Oh my gosh its the adorable little Irish girl from X Factor
Janet Devlin - 1,500,000 views, 40,000 likes
Jon Slater - 0 views, 1 like... probably his own haha
@Jon Slater 1.5 million views of a cover suggest otherwise. Shoo.
@Jon Slater a poor little thing
@Jon Slater What a silly fucking fool you are.
This song should hit right at home for her since it's about the British invading Ireland and the brutal street combat that went on
I knew this song would come natural to Janet. She has the genetics, looks, and voice to make it possible.👍
Your hair reminds me of Merida from Brave 😍
IKR. I can totally see her playing a brave girl who come to terms with her mother and dealing with a psychopathic bear.
Was just going to comment this lol
I thought the same thing. Wouldn't it be awesome if she recorded a video of herself shooting a bow?
he is the innocent angel dropped to earth who will decide our fate. reminds me of this :D
`XD was what i was thinking to haha :D
Janet, you really captured Dolores' essence in this song, thank you! :)
Fully agree.
and still made it her own
I suffer from ptsd, depression, panick and anxiety attacks due to combat, hearing you're voice and looking into you're eyes actually calms me, ty
I hope you are doing ok Todd.
God bless you, my friend♥️🙏
Her eyes make you fall in love
Not just the eyes, Shes literally an Irish Goddess. Shes got the hair, the eyes, the facial structure, the voice, the personality.

Bad wolves cover is by far the next best thing after the original
I agree with Michael York the Bad Wolves cover is amazingly on point. Its emotional and conforms amazingly well to the originals message. Must be a song just for the Irish then 😂
Chills followed by a couple tears running down my cheek. You've got a big heart Janet 💗
One of my favourite covers of yours. When the Cranberries lost their main singer it was a sad day, but you sound just like her.
Brilliant!!!
What a beautiful tribute-she's smiling from above.
Absolutely amazing tribute to Dolores. She will be smiling from Heaven. Well Done Janet.
So beautifully sung ..
I love your voice..
Just tears in my eyes....no words....you are an angel....

Yayy, great song! You're the best Janet! God bless Delores O'Riordan, Rest In Peace.
Janet, I've been behind you since the X-Factor. You're a force to be reckoned with. You're absolutely incredible!
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaking?
But, you see it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head
They are fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head in your head they are crying
In your head
In your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, ei, ei
What's in your head?
In your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie ei, ei, ei, oh do do do do do do do do
Another mother's breaking
Heart is taking over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old thing since 1916
In your head, in your head
They're still fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head they are dying
In your head
In your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, ei, ei
What's in your head?
In your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie ei, ei, ei, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ei ei oh
Thank you!
Omg i love andy blackkkkkk😍😍
Its theme since 1916 btw
Holy crap !!!

That hair and that piano make this cover gorgeous!!!
