This is comprehensive! Thank you! I have a question. You teach the dog that barking gets him what he wants. So have you ever experienced problems with dogs barking outside of the bark and hold? Like when doing obedience around the helper? how do you avoid creating a generalized excessive barking behavior in the presence of things the dog wants?
Thank you so much for this! I have a rottie that is quite difficult to get to bark! I'll try this! However, how do you teach the "quiet" command? I guess the dog should not bark all the time (for example during transportations ect?)
Quiet is other commands. Sit/Platz/Fuss, etc are all no barking. :) Barking Dog, "Sit' the dog sits, then reward. If they bark in the sit, it's no and leash pressure to stop the barking, then reward. They'lll learn sit is sit and be quiet, to get paid.
I LOVE how crisp and factual this instruction is...just 1. 2. 3. clear points with domonstration. Perfect!
Thanks! "Simplified Modern Schutzhund Trainng." ;)
