@ImLilacMoon Lol the most annoying thing I have encountered is when me and my friends made one of my friends characters everything involving that ONE sim would be weird and it was common across all saves! So in friend A's (the person who made the character) save he was constantly depressed for some reason, ok fine whatever. Awhile later friend B made him and he ended up cheating on his partner multiple times and was a horrible person. I made the character and for some reason he felt the need to clip in to the sink, though I will give him the benefit of the doubt for this one because he was supposed to be a vampire and maybe the teleportation was a little off, but he also wanted to cheat with his brother's husband. And I swear before he had the sun immunity, he had some kind of a death wish! He would constantly try to leave and stand in the sun and would be shocked that he was burning. So I had to literally barricade him in his damn house and babysit him. Non of us know why this was almost consistent behavior across all saves but it was. The funny thing is we all never had him do any of this, he just decided to do/wanted to do them!
@ImLilacMoonI use mc command center and disabled autonomous mean interaction and it seems to have fixed it. If you have that mod just use an in game computer to do so! :)
The Sims marketing team seems to be completely delusional and detached from reality. I sometimes see them posting on TH-cam and the comments are always just "Fix the game!" and similar.
Y'all just wait until EA brings out the first "Fix Your Sims - Gameplay Pack" which is just a big patch they worked on to fix what they broke.... Only 39,99€/$/£.
The cake is for the NAP foodies united. Not sure what the potions is from bc I got it after I got Growing Together and I don't have Foodies united as one of the NAP. But I had to remove my bbq bc they kept making those potions.
I'm so sick of it. All the packs, kits, EPs are so freaking expensive, so cashgrabby and you simply can't play the game without being super frustrated. When I think about the amount of money I've already spent for The Sims 4 and see the state of the game, I'm getting furious. What is going on in the EA?

Definitely beyond repair. They have been releasing broken, untested or (not thoroughly tested) content for 10 years and not bothered to fix anything. Now they are suddenly interested in fixing it because they can't ignore us all any longer but it's far too late.
No, no, not untested. I’m sure they’ve got a release checklist that says “play test” and they dutifully send it for testing each time, and upon receiving a report back that says “yo your game is completely broken” they smile, check “test” off the list, and proceed with the release. 😏

It also doesn't help that the code may be even older. The Sims 4 was going to be an online multiplayer game back in 2008, BEFORE the Sims 3's release! They scrapped that and turned it into The Sims 4. This means the code they're using could very well be 18 years old. Of course it's imploding on itself.
@@SnipsySnips That’s what it is. Its why sims 4 has loading screens and a closed world because it was supposed to be multiplayer. I forgot what system they used to code sims 4 on, but after they scraped the multiplayer idea. They couldn’t change systems, so they’re stuck with a fairly old engine with messy codings. There’s even hidden unused animations in the files. I mean how surprise are we when the sims 4 first released, a family simulator, didn’t even have toddlers. Newborn sims are just restricted to a crib unlike previous sim games. But the sims 4 missed so much features during release

Facts. I spent so much money on console and pc and I wanted to get lovestruck or for rent but I just can’t bring myself to buy them since my sims are nonfunctional as is.
As a person that works in QA department I really appreciate that you are not blaming the testers for the bugs. I have never worked with EA, but from my own experience I can pretty confidiently say that QA always noticies and reports any bugs they see and as you said it is up to the production team to decide whether they will fix certain issues or not. Many times after the release of any title, there are articules saying 'testers were lazy when working on this game' or something like that which can be really sad. Especially seeing that it was an external QA that worked on this pack we can only assume that the communication between them and the EA and production was kinda lacking and your guess that they could've been testing only this particular pack with not having access to the others may be correct as they probably got base game + lovestruck to test - that is also why the packs always seem to be so disjointed.
The time zone difference is absolutely ridiculous. Why not outside to Uruguay or Mexico? Not to mention that there’s usually language issues that crop up-my friend works in a major tech company and they had to stop outsourcing to India partially because the language gap was so much worse than working with teams from Central Europe or South America
@@SnazzyArcadenot QA, but I worked in tech support and they outsourced our department (online chat) to India. During the change over, we were appalled at the quality of responses customers received. Most of them were just word salad, until someone there got smart and started stealing all our cut and paste responses that individuals had carefully crafted over years in the department. And even then, they didn’t know how to use them properly.
I refuse to blame QA. I know you all report everything you find - and you're finding a lot because I don't know of a single QA tester who wasn't thorough to the point of burn out - but it's out of your hands once it's reported. It's probably even out of the hands of coders because they're most likely being told what to focus on or having to make some kind of decision on which one needs attention more and which one gets sacrificed. You all can only do so much.

@ImLilacMoon to add to this modding is very different than programing the base code. A lot of mods manipulate code that is already there not create it. Granted there are several very talented modders who do insert their own unique coding. However, the experience isn't quite the same. Could EA look at what modders have done to resolve some of the issues and apply it to what they are doing? Maybe? But honestly the spaghettification of the code after almost 10 years of the game being continually added to can't be ignored.
I completely disagree. Game testing is a job that requires way more than just playing the game, look at Matt Mercer playing BG3 for example. They should pay and find qualified people and give them the whole game, not just a pack, that's ridiculous
My son worked as a tester on the Sims 3. He was hired by EA in Baton Rouge to be one of about 300 testers. He was promoted quickly, because he's always had a talent for everything computers( unlike me!) However,everyone in the Baton Rouge department was laid off, because they moved the testing overseas. This was before Sims 4,so I don't know why they are still reporting that there is a Baton Rouge location. As far as I know,EA has never moved their testing back here.

Honestly, there's also just way to much unnecessary content in the Sims 4. So many different systems working next to or against eachother, a ton of buffs and effects etc etc. And still it doesn't feel as fun and interesting as the previous two titles
Yeah, like some of the apartments should have their traits [For example, Noisy Neighbours] moved to lot challenges, or replaced [One of the Quiet apartments, can easily just have the Peace and Quiet trait instead.] The original dates can also be removed now that we have a new date system, and I'm sure there's even more than that. It all just needs to be reorganized and integrated so they fit together.
Yeah. They add so much random stuff without much thought towards a core gameplay experience. They need to focus on depth rather than breathe. And pay some attention to balance, goodness. Rebalance all money-making activities. Rebalance relationships. I don't even notice the new relationship dynamics or most of the stuff they added. The buffs feel meaningless because the base relationship growth is too high. 100% of the focus is on adding paid, almost stand-alone DLC and none is given to creating a satisfying cohesive experience. You get bored so quickly in live mode, despite having so much shallow content you could do, but have no reason or motivation to do.
I think all the Sims players need to get together and sue!!! There is more than enough proof they have repeatedly sold products they intentionally mislead us on.
HSY was the Groundhog Day bug. You would play for sim weeks, save, open the game and it's back to the first day. I had to start over from that update. It seems each update now corrupts my current save file.
My personal theory is that the code is getting overwhelmed trying to account for so may variables And that the base game doesn't have the foundation to uphold all the DLC
Especially when the basegame was originally code from 2008 for a scrapped Multiplayer game. Said multiplayer game wasn't even supposed to have other lifespans but young adult. The Sims 4 back in 2014 was already "too ambitious" for this code, so there's no way it can properly handle all this new, complicated gameplay.

Those of you saying what is wrong, for the love of god STOP buying! I stopped after for rent, it broke my save file beyond repair, I had 8 gens in that save file, ea is not seeing my money anymore, i have since just played other games or going back to my the sims 3 game or the sims 2.
I bought the Sims 4 during one of the Steam seasonal sales and then about two months later EA released the game for free. That, combined with the awful state of the game, I haven't picked it up in over a year and don't see myself playing the Sims again any time soon and I'll be thinking hard about purchasing anything from EA in the future.
This is the result of 100 EP's for the game. No game is projected for this, specially considering how broken and messy TS4 codding is. People complain about TS3 but, currently, I have better performance in TS3 than TS4. We just have to do some adjustments and some patches and the game is totally playable. I play in Isla Paradiso and it runs very well. And well, TS3 is by far funnier and better than TS4 so yeah. Just to add to the video, Satch, that's what you've said, they only give them the base game + the expansion on the matter. if we watch your let's play, you started a LS date but, for season's holiday, it didn't count as one, which means they didn't test the combination of packs to see how that would work. that's just an example. The problem of this game is that people keep buying the packs so they don't bother at all. Blind community.
Let this be a lesson to game developers everywhere!! It is a bad idea to split your game/digital product up into 72 pieces … as time goes along, you have to fix all 72 pieces, you have to UPDATE all 72 pieces individually! That takes so much more time and money that you cannot recuperate any profit you may have gained by breaking it up into 72 pieces.
@@Ang7.8 the problem is that they don't even bother to fix the problems because people keep buying the packs, so why would they care? If sales were going down, they would care, but sales are stable so for them is a perfect scenario, they can keep realizing garbage that people will continue buying anyway. I stopped, for a really long time. Nowadays I wait for TS3 sales where I buy packs for 10€ each (I suppose 10$ as well) and they have a loooot more content and 4x cheaper. And I have much more fun all along.
I love ts3, but i don't know why whenever i try to play it these days my family gets killed by a meteor. Always. I get meteor after meteor, even a few times in a sims' week X"D. I tried to fix it with mods, but it simply doesn't work 'n'
@@Ang7.8 This 100%. The game also have multiple version of the same thematic concept and these stuff is not compatible with each other. If they update older systems to create depth instead of add new shallow gameplay mechanics the game would be so much better.

And the fact that they are already planning release of their new pack while the game is so broken is a problem. Stop buying new packs and demand the old packs be fixed. The amount of money I put into my game is absolutely ridiculous to not have it work properly.
This is the result of a game that was supposed to be way more hallow and intended for online/multiplayer but changed last second to be a standard Sims game and thereafter years of DLCs without a proper refresh of the core code. It's like having a bullet wound and repairing it with toothpicks. I'm glad I started pirating since My Wedding Story so I don't give in to the EA greed, when they're force feeding us shit and expecting us to be grateful or patient when they repair a game that is too broken to be fixed.
I do not own Love Struck. I don't use any ii Mods. My current glitches: -I can't clean cows or lamas then they leave because of neglect. -My Sim is frozen. She stood outside and wouldn't/couldn't move but her needs decreased. -My family tree broke. It had about 20 generations. I can only see my Sims parents. I can't see their siblings, grandparents or anyone before that.
Also with Mods, don’t just remove the mods folder, delete your cache, And start a test vanilla save that way EA can’t claim its a you problem. And play at least a Sim day at normal speed to try to trigger any problems. Also peice your mods back in slowly when you are ready. Make sure you try a vanilla save, if the vanilla save is fine your save file may be corrupted beyond repair and no patch will recover that file. I spent 3 weeks rescuing a save I refused to give up but I had to roll back two older backups to get there. And build back up from there. Also, a video game shouldn’t be this much work. 😢
4:38 - I work in tech. Something that I am observing with the Sims is that they are releasing new features and functionality to the game that its users don’t deem “quality” or “usable”. Hold that thought. When developing software, every team has a definition of what is considered “done” which is to say it is both quality, and usable! But those words do not mean what you think it means. “Done” (quality and usable) means that a certain feature meets a set of pre-defined requirements, but it might not be in releasable condition. For example, you mentioned the dating app which while it might not work in the way expected, it is A dating app, which is enough for the team to say it is quality and usable. However, just because it is a dating app does not mean it is releasable because there still may be issues or requirements that were not met. You would think the QA team has the job of ensuring something is releasable, but what I believe is happening is that their definition of quality has more to do with something being complete than it does with something being ready for the public to use. But that’s what’s happening: they’re releasing it anyway. What’s interesting about this pattern of poorly received releases is that, even though the development team did their job (meet the requirements provided to them), I believe the product owners (the person who is supposed to listen to the users and develop a list of features to implement, bugs to fix, etc.) do not know what the requirements need to be, which is probably a result of the base game code being either poorly documented (so the devs don’t know what they need to use it) or the code is inherently flawed/very old (but fixing it would break everything that is built upon it). It is probably both. The result is a piece of software that is basically stitched together by band-aids, and with each additional new feature, while the team is generating revenue, they are also slowly destroying the software. Any good product manager knows that there must be a balance between both new features and repairing old problems. For a company to be continuing to release new features without fixing existing problems shows that the team is working in a profit-driven environment, not a user-driven environment. And we are all bearing witness to how these challenges can damage the reputation of a company and hurt a brand. Frankly, I feel much worse for their marketing team than I do for their development team.
Completely agree. I’m a consultant and considered one of the product management officers for a project. I’m also wondering if they are testing in the actual user build environments or just the test environment. Because it seems like they have the product (ep) release without testing in user environments or prior saves. As you mentioned the devs are just checking off functionalities as useable and quality then it’s out for production.But not crossing testing functionality in different user environments. Some people don’t have each pack so are these work items being accounted for in QA testing. I don’t think so based on how fast they are pushing multiple packs out a year.
I can't with them anymore. I have not even been able to play the game for a few months now because the language has changed to Czech? I've tried everything, and I mean everything, under the sun to fix it, but I've had no luck so far. I hate EA with a passion!!!

Actually India has perfected the art of working around the world. Many IT service industries in India work on the schedule of their overseas employer. If the work for an US company the indian employees will work on an american schedule. This is one of the reasons you often find indians working in IT support etc
I didn't install any of the July patches because I don't trust this company, and I'm so glad. TS4 is so done. Every time they try to fix something, they break something else. They use us as bug testers instead of testing patches and new packs on the fully loaded game beforehand. The dam that is the spaghetti code is breaking and they can't hold back the flood of bugs any longer. Don't update anymore. Don't buy any more packs. I'll keep playing offline for as long as I can, and if they force us to update in the future (like they did on June 10) and my game breaks, I'll take that as a sign that my TS4 days are officially over.
The frustrating part is that the July patch actually did fix a number of very annoying bugs that had been around for a long time and which weren't fixable with mods. However the patch also introduced a number of new bugs.
There’s more issues with QA being outsourced to India: -They usually get paid per project completed, so they rush through their projects -Language barriers are generally worse than outsourcing to Central Europe or South America. So something that could be discussed in one or two messages takes five or six. -India has a massive difference in time zones compared to California. This significantly slows down communication.
I don't think those things are that significant. Most urban Indians speak decent English, and especially if they are in the IT field and online all day. And there are many peope there who are very good with computers and stuff. At least the ones who didn't emigrate. The time zone difference... why, are they reporting those things by phone? Are you telling me that they don't write e-mails? E-mails don't have an accent. No, the first thing you wrote must be the crucial problem. Trying to get the job done and pass on to the next. And of course what was said in the video: maybe they do report things dutifully, but EA choses to be deaf and ignore the reports.
That's why it makes me so happy seeing more and more youtubers going back to Sims 2 and Sims 3, while they say Sims 4 is dead to them. If you hate this game, I think you should do this transition as well.

Do you know how to get Sims 2 on a newer Mac? I have the Sims 2 Super Collection but it doesn't have Free Time or Apartments which are my favorite expansion packs.
they've built an entire house on two rotten wooden stilts. the game is so fundamentally broken down to it's simplest base game coding, never mind all the nonsense of cross pack play, compatibility and other things that should be part of a working game, the code has been awful from the start and this never should have been a game they worked on for 10+ years when they knew it wasn't going to be able to handle the amount they were adding to it.

I’ve just finished playing the game and the amount of times I’ve gotten frustrated during gameplay is ridiculous. I’ve been having major issues with the Rent pack along with sims clipping through things, petting animals that are in a completely different room, overly emotional sims, sims just straight up walking through walls and so many more other bs examples. I don’t understand how EA gets away with this. If this was ANY other franchise they would have been crucified like Cyberpunk 2077
When I get Sims 2 running on this laptop is takes 8 minutes to load and crashes before resuming constantly. It's held together by duct tape, hope, and a .ini file I hand typed to make it run on my exact laptop. I get mad at it significantly less than 2024 ts4 I'd go back to 3 but my copy of 3 is haunted I swear :(
@ifu138 exactly, sims players are most casual players with little knowledge of the previous installments and non participant in online communities, so they pretty much clueless. I wasn't in the community before and thought that my wedding stories not working was my fault, turns out it just broken overall, but I didn't knew till the community made me know
Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example of a team who truly cared about the product, they won a BAFTA for all the development work they put into fixing it. I bought it a few months ago after all the patches and it runs like an absolute dream, I love it. Never going back to glitchy Sims 4 on laptop now I have a console

Pre-ordering a digital game makes absolutely zero sense to me regardless of bugs or lack of bugs. Pre-orders made sense when there were a finite number of games available at any given time (i.e., when we had to buy games on disks) but with a digital release, it is always available. I just don't get the rationale of giving money for a product that hasn't been tested at all when we can wait for content creators or other players to buy it and let us know about bugs and (lack of) gameplay features.
The only way to get EA to take this more serious is for people to stop buying every pack this company craps out. These people don’t care about your feelings, they only care about getting your hard earned money then moving on.
High School Years is broken for me (and I tried removing my mods, didn't help). One of my teens doesn't get objectives during the school day. After the school day, he's stuck at school, he can't travel. Also, none of the school / prom interactions are available anymore (for all teens), so I can't ask someone to prom, claim to be prom royalty, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get prom at all. Also, on an off-work holiday (Easter), this same teen suddendly got objectives for school (he was not at school, the family was celebrating Easter...) and a fire-alarm test... Like wtf. It's completely broken. It's driving me nuts. I really wanted to do prom stuff (secure prom queen, promposal signs, etc...) before my Legacy teens age up. This issue had already been reported by multiple people. Now I either can't play and have to wait until they fix it, but last time there was a similar bug with Seasons with the holidays it took them MONTHS to fix it, or I literally just have to accept that Imma have to skip on that. I can't believe they are making people pay for these packs. I. Cannot. Use. The. Pack. Edit: The prom interactions suddendly came back. However, when prom should have started, I got the notification asking me who I want to follow to prom, I chose my two sims, and then nothing happened. So, that's great.
I've never been able to go with a teen to school, and when I did the game glitched and failed to load the lot, fortunately I had another Sim in the household so they were left at home, socI switched control over but found that only my teen sim, the principal, and the lunch lady showed up, and there wasn't any classes happening in the school, no other teens showed up either.

Usually my game is fine, but the last few days have been driving me CRAZY. -x3 Speed doesn't work. -Sims standing still for HOURS in game even though they have actions queued. -Sims not leaving to/coming from work/school on time. (Like instead of leaving at 8 they'll leave at 9 something) -Then when I close the game and reload, time has gone BACKWARDS (I'm guessing to where it was SUPPOSED to be). I just want to play my Legacy save. 😭😤
a temporary fix for a sim standing still is to turn on testingcheats and then shift+click the sim and reset object. this will clear their queue and stop them from doing literally nothing
@@ozbunny18 I use "Reset Sim" all the time lol Sadly, doesnt work for me in my case. They'll still just stand there, even if I queue up something else for them to do instead. I luckily haven't had to deal with it TOO much the last couple days. Now when it happens I pause time to let it "catch up" and that sometimes helps.
According to ScreenRant there are a total of 71 packs (expansion, game, stuff, kit). So that means there are 2,361,183,241,434,822,606,849 different possible pack combinations 🙃🙃🙃
After 24 years, and EVERY iteration of the franchise, auntie is DONE. I have a MASSIVE save that has taken over 8 years to build. To lose that save would be devastating. I will not participate in TS5 if EA is involved, and even though I am a completist and own every pack I will not be purchasing more.
I'm so glad I went back to Sims 3 just before lovestruck hit because I didn't experience this fiasco and now I feel like staying there indefinitely now.
I can't pay bills in one of my save files, it keeps sending a reminder everytime but there's no option and the power company hasn't shut it off so rip, I also can't take my Sims on dates which is so annoying
I had that same bug and I had to move out the family, put them on an empty lot, then move them back to their home lot again. This seemed to fix it. You could try switching the active household as well. Sorry you’re experiencing this too!!
My game has been running smoother somehow??? I'm having less and less glitches and the loading time has decreased significantly for me. I had some issues with my gameplay mods in the beginning of the update, but once I fixed those my game was / is running perfectly well.
@@phoenixfly_ you can check the compatibility of the mods at their respective sites cause sometimes they take a bit to update the mod to the current version of the game, start with the major ones first MCCC and other major mods that do a lot of things. Get the updated Better Exceptions mod cause if you have a game exception, It can tell you what mod or file or CC is causing the trouble. An older discontinued mod could still work, but if it doesn't it's best to remove the mod file till someone updates it.
my game is so broken right now and i don’t have lovestruck like the icons on that bottom bar in live mode are all mixed up, my romantic options now are so much more restrictive, my game quits sometimes when i simply try to make my sims kiss, my first impressions thing stops working after a few minutes of gameplay and there are just so many little glitches plus my mods don’t work so i don’t have that to fall back on so rn the game is pretty much unplayable for me 😭
My sims literally always fight out of no where they had all stats like friendships and romance on 100% and as soon as the love struck pack and the updates to the base game came it went down hill. Like suddenly their settings where all of and certain choices aren’t optional anymore which would be necessary to keep the relationships going like I can’t built positive relationships in my files anymore. Even the families in other files went from positive to they all hate each other in line minutes. And all the instructions I researched on how to fix it are only doable if you have the love struck pack…wtf is this
It was for *worst company of the year* it was *The Consumerist* and it was done via a series of reader’s polls. Like a championship u have two companies against each other, one wins and then they and another winner against each other until one remains. If I remember they made some snarky comment about winning and then won again the next year. They were terrible years too for the company. It was a record breaking poll and they beat out regulars like AT&T were surprised even they didn’t win. They got almost 65% of the vote. I think the first one was over Mass Effect 3 and the second over the SimCity reboot fiasco. I remember both very clearly. I don’t think they’re around anymore, sadly. The one thing I want is for a complete overhaul of the catalog it’s so messy and confusing with all the additional packs and find it hard to find anything. I feel like they should have a clutter separated per room, a favourites option, change the way you view items so if it’s not just a change of colour it should be a separate item especially with the rugs. Have debug as an option without unlocking it have all the locked items in its own category. Just feel that as mainly a builder I’d love a better catalog experience because it’s so disorganised, I get the game is broken but this is also something that could really help with the experience as trying to load certain parts of the catalog makes the game goes so slow. They do need to completely fix the whole game and pause all the other packs and just listen to what is actually wanted and maybe start doing better updates to the overall experience
no literally I cannot travel anywhere, ANYWHERE. I don’t use mods, i’ve never downloaded any on my new pc. every time I try to travel that isn’t create a date I get taken to the world screen with an error code unable to click back into my household to play. I have to go into a sims household that I was friends with to invite myself over and then send myself home so I can play with my sim again 😭😭 like it’s so bad.
same!!! i once traveled to foxbury commons and it renamed it “larry’s lagoon” and every time i tried to access the lot and my sims it would break and send me back to the world select. got my sims back but the lot is still completely inaccessible now
My game will literally not save even after I uninstalled all of my mods. The calendar and phone icons are also around the wrong way which is infuriating. I am so done with EA
⚠️ ❗️ OK as part of a web dev team in the recent past, I have to say it is NOT up to the development team which items get fixed. Never! Everything goes into a queue, in that queue the items get ranked in order of importance. Also, each item is given an estimate of the amount of time it would take to fix it. Each developer only has so many hours in a dev cycle. They cannot continually over-commit to fixing more than they can handle in that cycle. Devs pull into their queue issues/tickets that they know are a high ranking issue and they are able to complete within a given cycle. If it cannot be completed in a single cycle, it is pushed back to the project manager to be broken up into smaller task that can be completed within a cycle because what you don’t want to happen is for there to be something that takes 2 cycles or more to cause it makes your TEAM’S numbers look bad. It makes it seem as though the PEOPLE on staff continually have a problem with completing their work timely. This is why it’s so much easier to be a modders because you, as a mod creator, know that something is going to take a certain amount of time and you work on it till it’s completed you don’t have bars and charts and quotas to keep up with! You do a GOOD job and you do a COMPLETE job. Modders don’t have to fight with other devs on a team telling them “oh your code is garbage. I’m going to change it” and then having to deal with all the sensitive feelings and boo-hooing 🙄 as they run to the PM and complain that so-n-so hurt their feelings and is about to change their code. It’s not the Dev’s fault that they have to show up every week or every two weeks, hold hands and sing Kumbaya as they stroke other people’s egos and have to let their skills take a backseat to office etiquette 😒
Dev here. Being on a rush or under pressure is no excuse for being toxic. If you don't like somebody's code, you talk with them with respect and correct it together so that you can EXPLAIN what's bad. No only it would solve the "hurt feelings" issues but the bad code issues too, for your colleagues won't repeat the same mistakes. Dev is team work meaning, yes, you've got to work with other people.
I still feel like no one has spoken about how they increased the price of Expansion packs in like, every country except for US/UK? I spent MORE money to break my game 💔
I’ve updated MC Command Center and that’s pretty much the only actual mod I have, but my sims still aren’t able to pay their bills. They were able to at least collect it from the mailbox after the patch, but now it just sits in my sim’s inventory and the only option for them is “discard.” And it’s so annoying because the “Bills have been delivered to your mailbox” notification comes up every single time I open up my game, and I have no way to pay them.
@@truenorth1991 same. Every time I try to enter CAS I get the endless loading screen too. I even made a point of waiting until yesterday to go on the game after the patch so that I could update all my mods first and it just doesn't work
I don't even think I'm going to invest any money in The Sims 5 when it rolls out because if this is a sign of what's to come I'm done with it. I'll continue to play The Sims 2 and have a great time with that. I will wait to update my game when they offer everything else for free and the modders take over the Sims 4 and then I'll finally get to play The Sims 4. I have not played it since the base game. Makes me sad.
Yeah I returned to sims 2 and been so much happier and fulfilled in my gameplay... sims 5 will probably be so cash grabby that it is an instant turn off anyway
I am going to wait at least 2 years after Sims 5 comes out, before I decide to invest in it, I am back to playing Sims 3 and I am so glad that I saved all of my Sims 2 game discs
Sims 5 has been confirmed by EA to be free on release so we can be certain that it will only get worse from here. I can guarantee there are going to be micro transactions, and as Satch has said in previous videos, tons of greediness. They've also confirmed that they'll be splitting Seasons into FOUR packs, one for each season. It's crazy that they're getting away with being so cash grabby.
Yeah, I stopped buying new packs after Cottage Living and last year I finally deleted the game and all my mods and cc for good because of how glitchy it had become. At the end, I couldn't even launch my game due to that one error that a lot of people get now. It was literally unplayable. There are so many other games that are just as or more fun that I've been focusing on since then. I don't miss it one bit.
on EA forums page about bugs list - the list is just piling up everyday after every patch and pack and it does not shrink at all it's like a big snowball that you roll over the road
im SO GLAD im not the only one with this issue!!! i accidentally deleted every single one of my mods while trying to troubleshoot this issue and that was yesterday! im STILL waiting for them to be backed up, and all because i just wanted to binge play the sims again 😭

I don't have any mods or CC installed and my game is unplayable, the lag is SO bad I can't click on anything. I can't imagine how much worse it's going to get when more packs are released. I've never known it this bad
days like this i'm very lucky/grateful that i never made the full switch to 4. i still play 3 everyday & i never have issues beyond some very minor graphical bugs. for the out-sourcing, your theory makes sense. they probably outsourced it to save money (since often india/other places have cheaper conversion rates/leas labor laws) and only give them a pack at most, meaning it isn't testing with the majority of the code.

I was playing last night for an hour and a half. I saved the game 2-3 different times and the game crashed. When I logged back on ALL of my progress was wiped and gone. I’m over this tbh
Once again, I am so glad I haven't updated since November. Whenever I had issues it was NEVER the mods fault, and people still would harp on that regardless of what I said. Well, no, I've been around since Sims 1, I've been using computers all my life, I know darn well when something is caused by a mod and when something isn't and it drove me up the wall when I tried to get any support for it because it's like people's eyes would run right over the part where I say it was happening unmodded. "I removed all my mods and it did nothing" Yeah exacty. Try telling people that and they don't believe you. Someone tried to tell me the holiday bug from November was my mod's fault in the early days of *that* The holiday bug is still better than this.
At this point I just use TS4 as a dress up/decorating game because actual gameplay is so broken. But even in CAS and Build/Buy I see glitches. Clothing isn’t tagged properly, sims’ eyes and hair will randomly change color, clothing will be sorted as locked/unlocked when it’s not, etc etc. It’s so frustrating that even something as basic as Create a Sim isn’t functioning as intended. I have every expansion (except this most recent one) and most game packs and I feel so stupid for wasting so much money on this mess of a game
My live careers are broken, whenever i try to leave the hospital from Get to Work or the studio from Get Famous, the game crashes and i have to restart the game ALL THE TIME. my pregnant sim literally LOST her baby when I made her go to the Get to Work hospital!! Fears are also broken to me, my sims will get moodlets from fears they dont even have!
The "split from household and move" hasn’t worked properly in years, drives me crazy. And why (whyyyyyy) is everyone coming into my house and baking white cakes??
My sims game broke completely about 6 weeks ago. Like the game won’t let me open it. I have done everything like uninstalling the game, getting rid of my mods, updating my graphic card, unsycning my one drive. EVERYTHING! After 2 weeks of trying I honestly gave it and from seeing all of these new bugs coming in I guess I’m glad it broke just in time.
I think this is karma. EA tried to take turbo driver, lilmssam and a couple other mod creator's idea and implemented it in Lovestruck and it backfired. How is it that MODS add these features and dont break the game but when EA tries it goes kaputz?? I hope the mod creators are laughing hard rn

@@madlie2452 yeah but history of the development of sims is precedent unless polygamy is infact something thats present in sims medieval, its not about "real" world" per-se but understanding why these issues happen in the game to begin with is the crux why the game gets buggier per patch, but since most of these code is closed source there narry in hell the community can help figure out which interaction is resulting to these bugs, unless they happen in just the free base game. And I'm not going to pinpoint on the mods as well if they work 100% bug free then good somehow EA goofed up their own execution for whatever reason which can't be just an excuse since ITS LITERALLY THEIR CODE, are the patches moving stuff thats not presented in the UI as factual? Who knows

here's the math!! - there are currently 76 dlc available for the game - a player can either "Have" or "Not Have" the content for each given DLC, so that's 2 different possible states. - 1 dlc would have 2 combinations, 2 dlc would have 4, and 3 would have 8 etc. so that's 2 to the power of however many dlc there are. - so, the amount of combinations would be 2 to the power of 76 - that equals 75,557,863,725,914,323,419,136 - in other words: 75.5 SEXTILLION combinations so yeah, obviously there's no way to test for stability for every possible player configuration. the state of this game is totally cooked lmaooo
BUT! it's important to mention , you don't have to only update your mods but also delete the localthumbnails and the other cache files before starting your game, as they contain residual information and it keeping them would be like you haven't updated any files at all

I played Country living for 6 hours yesterday and my progress wasn't saved because the Grim Reaper was stuck in a loop of claiming a nonexisting dying chicken from my coop and I couldn't save because 'you can't save while a sim is dying'. 😭😭 And i lost so much progress..
I have also experienced this a lot in the sims 4 and 3, I reccommend saving often in different save slots, so that if something glitches, you can revert back to an old save. I hope this helps ♡

@ImLilacMoon Lol the most annoying thing I have encountered is when me and my friends made one of my friends characters everything involving that ONE sim would be weird and it was common across all saves! So in friend A's (the person who made the character) save he was constantly depressed for some reason, ok fine whatever. Awhile later friend B made him and he ended up cheating on his partner multiple times and was a horrible person. I made the character and for some reason he felt the need to clip in to the sink, though I will give him the benefit of the doubt for this one because he was supposed to be a vampire and maybe the teleportation was a little off, but he also wanted to cheat with his brother's husband. And I swear before he had the sun immunity, he had some kind of a death wish! He would constantly try to leave and stand in the sun and would be shocked that he was burning. So I had to literally barricade him in his damn house and babysit him.
Non of us know why this was almost consistent behavior across all saves but it was. The funny thing is we all never had him do any of this, he just decided to do/wanted to do them!
@ImLilacMoonI use mc command center and disabled autonomous mean interaction and it seems to have fixed it. If you have that mod just use an in game computer to do so! :)

Pirating Sims expansions was justified since the second game. These prices were always stupid, like with Sims 3 and especially with Sims 4.
Definitely beyond repair. They have been releasing broken, untested or (not thoroughly tested) content for 10 years and not bothered to fix anything. Now they are suddenly interested in fixing it because they can't ignore us all any longer but it's far too late.
No, no, not untested. I’m sure they’ve got a release checklist that says “play test” and they dutifully send it for testing each time, and upon receiving a report back that says “yo your game is completely broken” they smile, check “test” off the list, and proceed with the release. 😏

A game slapped together 10yrs ago is incapable of running multiple expansion packs all trying to alter the base code.
It also doesn't help that the code may be even older. The Sims 4 was going to be an online multiplayer game back in 2008, BEFORE the Sims 3's release! They scrapped that and turned it into The Sims 4. This means the code they're using could very well be 18 years old.

That’s what it is. Its why sims 4 has loading screens and a closed world because it was supposed to be multiplayer. I forgot what system they used to code sims 4 on, but after they scraped the multiplayer idea. They couldn’t change systems, so they’re stuck with a fairly old engine with messy codings. There’s even hidden unused animations in the files.
I mean how surprise are we when the sims 4 first released, a family simulator, didn’t even have toddlers. Newborn sims are just restricted to a crib unlike previous sim games. But the sims 4 missed so much features during release

Facts. I spent so much money on console and pc and I wanted to get lovestruck or for rent but I just can’t bring myself to buy them since my sims are nonfunctional as is.
As a person that works in QA department I really appreciate that you are not blaming the testers for the bugs. I have never worked with EA, but from my own experience I can pretty confidiently say that QA always noticies and reports any bugs they see and as you said it is up to the production team to decide whether they will fix certain issues or not. Many times after the release of any title, there are articules saying 'testers were lazy when working on this game' or something like that which can be really sad. Especially seeing that it was an external QA that worked on this pack we can only assume that the communication between them and the EA and production was kinda lacking and your guess that they could've been testing only this particular pack with not having access to the others may be correct as they probably got base game + lovestruck to test - that is also why the packs always seem to be so disjointed.

The time zone difference is absolutely ridiculous. Why not outside to Uruguay or Mexico? Not to mention that there’s usually language issues that crop up-my friend works in a major tech company and they had to stop outsourcing to India partially because the language gap was so much worse than working with teams from Central Europe or South America
@@SnazzyArcadenot QA, but I worked in tech support and they outsourced our department (online chat) to India. During the change over, we were appalled at the quality of responses customers received. Most of them were just word salad, until someone there got smart and started stealing all our cut and paste responses that individuals had carefully crafted over years in the department. And even then, they didn’t know how to use them properly.
I refuse to blame QA. I know you all report everything you find - and you're finding a lot because I don't know of a single QA tester who wasn't thorough to the point of burn out - but it's out of your hands once it's reported. It's probably even out of the hands of coders because they're most likely being told what to focus on or having to make some kind of decision on which one needs attention more and which one gets sacrificed. You all can only do so much.

@ImLilacMoon to add to this modding is very different than programing the base code. A lot of mods manipulate code that is already there not create it. Granted there are several very talented modders who do insert their own unique coding. However, the experience isn't quite the same. Could EA look at what modders have done to resolve some of the issues and apply it to what they are doing? Maybe? But honestly the spaghettification of the code after almost 10 years of the game being continually added to can't be ignored.
I completely disagree. Game testing is a job that requires way more than just playing the game, look at Matt Mercer playing BG3 for example. They should pay and find qualified people and give them the whole game, not just a pack, that's ridiculous
My son worked as a tester on the Sims 3. He was hired by EA in Baton Rouge to be one of about 300 testers. He was promoted quickly, because he's always had a talent for everything computers( unlike me!) However,everyone in the Baton Rouge department was laid off, because they moved the testing overseas. This was before Sims 4,so I don't know why they are still reporting that there is a Baton Rouge location. As far as I know,EA has never moved their testing back here.
Oh it’s worse now. They use AI to test the game. Barely any actual human QA testers left.

Honestly, there's also just way to much unnecessary content in the Sims 4. So many different systems working next to or against eachother, a ton of buffs and effects etc etc. And still it doesn't feel as fun and interesting as the previous two titles
Yeah, like some of the apartments should have their traits [For example, Noisy Neighbours] moved to lot challenges, or replaced [One of the Quiet apartments, can easily just have the Peace and Quiet trait instead.]
The original dates can also be removed now that we have a new date system, and I'm sure there's even more than that. It all just needs to be reorganized and integrated so they fit together.
I don’t mind that they reuse the mechanics from one pack to another. Like the family dynamics and romantic compatibility.
Sims 2 from 20 years ago is still far superior to sims 4. It's insane how much more fun and more advanced that game was.
Yeah. They add so much random stuff without much thought towards a core gameplay experience. They need to focus on depth rather than breathe. And pay some attention to balance, goodness. Rebalance all money-making activities. Rebalance relationships. I don't even notice the new relationship dynamics or most of the stuff they added. The buffs feel meaningless because the base relationship growth is too high. 100% of the focus is on adding paid, almost stand-alone DLC and none is given to creating a satisfying cohesive experience. You get bored so quickly in live mode, despite having so much shallow content you could do, but have no reason or motivation to do.
I think all the Sims players need to get together and sue!!! There is more than enough proof they have repeatedly sold products they intentionally mislead us on.

HSY was the Groundhog Day bug. You would play for sim weeks, save, open the game and it's back to the first day. I had to start over from that update. It seems each update now corrupts my current save file.
The release of Sims 4 itself was were it started going downhill, they should've stopped at sims 3 and kept improving it
But if the sims 3 is still updated in 2024 there would be so many monetizations i fear.
My personal theory is that the code is getting overwhelmed trying to account for so may variables
And that the base game doesn't have the foundation to uphold all the DLC
Especially when the basegame was originally code from 2008 for a scrapped Multiplayer game. Said multiplayer game wasn't even supposed to have other lifespans but young adult. The Sims 4 back in 2014 was already "too ambitious" for this code, so there's no way it can properly handle all this new, complicated gameplay.

Those of you saying what is wrong, for the love of god STOP buying! I stopped after for rent, it broke my save file beyond repair, I had 8 gens in that save file, ea is not seeing my money anymore, i have since just played other games or going back to my the sims 3 game or the sims 2.
I bought the Sims 4 during one of the Steam seasonal sales and then about two months later EA released the game for free. That, combined with the awful state of the game, I haven't picked it up in over a year and don't see myself playing the Sims again any time soon and I'll be thinking hard about purchasing anything from EA in the future.

This is the result of 100 EP's for the game. No game is projected for this, specially considering how broken and messy TS4 codding is. People complain about TS3 but, currently, I have better performance in TS3 than TS4. We just have to do some adjustments and some patches and the game is totally playable. I play in Isla Paradiso and it runs very well. And well, TS3 is by far funnier and better than TS4 so yeah.
Just to add to the video, Satch, that's what you've said, they only give them the base game + the expansion on the matter. if we watch your let's play, you started a LS date but, for season's holiday, it didn't count as one, which means they didn't test the combination of packs to see how that would work. that's just an example.
The problem of this game is that people keep buying the packs so they don't bother at all. Blind community.
Let this be a lesson to game developers everywhere!! It is a bad idea to split your game/digital product up into 72 pieces … as time goes along, you have to fix all 72 pieces, you have to UPDATE all 72 pieces individually! That takes so much more time and money that you cannot recuperate any profit you may have gained by breaking it up into 72 pieces.
@@Ang7.8 the problem is that they don't even bother to fix the problems because people keep buying the packs, so why would they care? If sales were going down, they would care, but sales are stable so for them is a perfect scenario, they can keep realizing garbage that people will continue buying anyway. I stopped, for a really long time. Nowadays I wait for TS3 sales where I buy packs for 10€ each (I suppose 10$ as well) and they have a loooot more content and 4x cheaper.

I love ts3, but i don't know why whenever i try to play it these days my family gets killed by a meteor. Always. I get meteor after meteor, even a few times in a sims' week X"D. I tried to fix it with mods, but it simply doesn't work 'n'

@@Ang7.8 This 100%. The game also have multiple version of the same thematic concept and these stuff is not compatible with each other. If they update older systems to create depth instead of add new shallow gameplay mechanics the game would be so much better.

And the fact that they are already planning release of their new pack while the game is so broken is a problem. Stop buying new packs and demand the old packs be fixed. The amount of money I put into my game is absolutely ridiculous to not have it work properly.
This is the result of a game that was supposed to be way more hallow and intended for online/multiplayer but changed last second to be a standard Sims game and thereafter years of DLCs without a proper refresh of the core code. It's like having a bullet wound and repairing it with toothpicks. I'm glad I started pirating since My Wedding Story so I don't give in to the EA greed, when they're force feeding us shit and expecting us to be grateful or patient when they repair a game that is too broken to be fixed.

I do not own Love Struck. I don't use any ii Mods.
My current glitches:
-I can't clean cows or lamas then they leave because of neglect.
-My Sim is frozen. She stood outside and wouldn't/couldn't move but her needs decreased.
-My family tree broke. It had about 20 generations. I can only see my Sims parents. I can't see their siblings, grandparents or anyone before that.
Also with Mods, don’t just remove the mods folder, delete your cache, And start a test vanilla save that way EA can’t claim its a you problem. And play at least a Sim day at normal speed to try to trigger any problems. Also peice your mods back in slowly when you are ready.
Make sure you try a vanilla save, if the vanilla save is fine your save file may be corrupted beyond repair and no patch will recover that file. I spent 3 weeks rescuing a save I refused to give up but I had to roll back two older backups to get there. And build back up from there.
Also, a video game shouldn’t be this much work. 😢
4:38 - I work in tech. Something that I am observing with the Sims is that they are releasing new features and functionality to the game that its users don’t deem “quality” or “usable”. Hold that thought. When developing software, every team has a definition of what is considered “done” which is to say it is both quality, and usable! But those words do not mean what you think it means. “Done” (quality and usable) means that a certain feature meets a set of pre-defined requirements, but it might not be in releasable condition. For example, you mentioned the dating app which while it might not work in the way expected, it is A dating app, which is enough for the team to say it is quality and usable. However, just because it is a dating app does not mean it is releasable because there still may be issues or requirements that were not met. You would think the QA team has the job of ensuring something is releasable, but what I believe is happening is that their definition of quality has more to do with something being complete than it does with something being ready for the public to use. But that’s what’s happening: they’re releasing it anyway. What’s interesting about this pattern of poorly received releases is that, even though the development team did their job (meet the requirements provided to them), I believe the product owners (the person who is supposed to listen to the users and develop a list of features to implement, bugs to fix, etc.) do not know what the requirements need to be, which is probably a result of the base game code being either poorly documented (so the devs don’t know what they need to use it) or the code is inherently flawed/very old (but fixing it would break everything that is built upon it). It is probably both. The result is a piece of software that is basically stitched together by band-aids, and with each additional new feature, while the team is generating revenue, they are also slowly destroying the software. Any good product manager knows that there must be a balance between both new features and repairing old problems. For a company to be continuing to release new features without fixing existing problems shows that the team is working in a profit-driven environment, not a user-driven environment. And we are all bearing witness to how these challenges can damage the reputation of a company and hurt a brand. Frankly, I feel much worse for their marketing team than I do for their development team.
Completely agree. I’m a consultant and considered one of the product management officers for a project. I’m also wondering if they are testing in the actual user build environments or just the test environment. Because it seems like they have the product (ep) release without testing in user environments or prior saves. As you mentioned the devs are just checking off functionalities as useable and quality then it’s out for production.But not crossing testing functionality in different user environments. Some people don’t have each pack so are these work items being accounted for in QA testing. I don’t think so based on how fast they are pushing multiple packs out a year.
I can't with them anymore. I have not even been able to play the game for a few months now because the language has changed to Czech? I've tried everything, and I mean everything, under the sun to fix it, but I've had no luck so far. I hate EA with a passion!!!

Actually India has perfected the art of working around the world. Many IT service industries in India work on the schedule of their overseas employer. If the work for an US company the indian employees will work on an american schedule. This is one of the reasons you often find indians working in IT support etc

I didn't install any of the July patches because I don't trust this company, and I'm so glad. TS4 is so done. Every time they try to fix something, they break something else. They use us as bug testers instead of testing patches and new packs on the fully loaded game beforehand. The dam that is the spaghetti code is breaking and they can't hold back the flood of bugs any longer. Don't update anymore. Don't buy any more packs. I'll keep playing offline for as long as I can, and if they force us to update in the future (like they did on June 10) and my game breaks, I'll take that as a sign that my TS4 days are officially over.

The frustrating part is that the July patch actually did fix a number of very annoying bugs that had been around for a long time and which weren't fixable with mods. However the patch also introduced a number of new bugs.

There’s more issues with QA being outsourced to India:
-They usually get paid per project completed, so they rush through their projects
-Language barriers are generally worse than outsourcing to Central Europe or South America. So something that could be discussed in one or two messages takes five or six.
-India has a massive difference in time zones compared to California. This significantly slows down communication.
I don't think those things are that significant. Most urban Indians speak decent English, and especially if they are in the IT field and online all day. And there are many peope there who are very good with computers and stuff. At least the ones who didn't emigrate.

they've built an entire house on two rotten wooden stilts. the game is so fundamentally broken down to it's simplest base game coding, never mind all the nonsense of cross pack play, compatibility and other things that should be part of a working game, the code has been awful from the start and this never should have been a game they worked on for 10+ years when they knew it wasn't going to be able to handle the amount they were adding to it.

I’ve just finished playing the game and the amount of times I’ve gotten frustrated during gameplay is ridiculous. I’ve been having major issues with the Rent pack along with sims clipping through things, petting animals that are in a completely different room, overly emotional sims, sims just straight up walking through walls and so many more other bs examples. I don’t understand how EA gets away with this. If this was ANY other franchise they would have been crucified like Cyberpunk 2077
When I get Sims 2 running on this laptop is takes 8 minutes to load and crashes before resuming constantly. It's held together by duct tape, hope, and a .ini file I hand typed to make it run on my exact laptop.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example of a team who truly cared about the product, they won a BAFTA for all the development work they put into fixing it. I bought it a few months ago after all the patches and it runs like an absolute dream, I love it. Never going back to glitchy Sims 4 on laptop now I have a console

Pre-ordering a digital game makes absolutely zero sense to me regardless of bugs or lack of bugs. Pre-orders made sense when there were a finite number of games available at any given time (i.e., when we had to buy games on disks) but with a digital release, it is always available. I just don't get the rationale of giving money for a product that hasn't been tested at all when we can wait for content creators or other players to buy it and let us know about bugs and (lack of) gameplay features.
The only way to get EA to take this more serious is for people to stop buying every pack this company craps out. These people don’t care about your feelings, they only care about getting your hard earned money then moving on.
High School Years is broken for me (and I tried removing my mods, didn't help). One of my teens doesn't get objectives during the school day. After the school day, he's stuck at school, he can't travel. Also, none of the school / prom interactions are available anymore (for all teens), so I can't ask someone to prom, claim to be prom royalty, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get prom at all. Also, on an off-work holiday (Easter), this same teen suddendly got objectives for school (he was not at school, the family was celebrating Easter...) and a fire-alarm test... Like wtf. It's completely broken.
It's driving me nuts. I really wanted to do prom stuff (secure prom queen, promposal signs, etc...) before my Legacy teens age up. This issue had already been reported by multiple people. Now I either can't play and have to wait until they fix it, but last time there was a similar bug with Seasons with the holidays it took them MONTHS to fix it, or I literally just have to accept that Imma have to skip on that.

Edit: The prom interactions suddendly came back. However, when prom should have started, I got the notification asking me who I want to follow to prom, I chose my two sims, and then nothing happened. So, that's great.

I've never been able to go with a teen to school, and when I did the game glitched and failed to load the lot, fortunately I had another Sim in the household so they were left at home, socI switched control over but found that only my teen sim, the principal, and the lunch lady showed up, and there wasn't any classes happening in the school, no other teens showed up either.

-Sims standing still for HOURS in game even though they have actions queued.

-Then when I close the game and reload, time has gone BACKWARDS (I'm guessing to where it was SUPPOSED to be).

a temporary fix for a sim standing still is to turn on testingcheats and then shift+click the sim and reset object. this will clear their queue and stop them from doing literally nothing

After 24 years, and EVERY iteration of the franchise, auntie is DONE. I have a MASSIVE save that has taken over 8 years to build. To lose that save would be devastating. I will not participate in TS5 if EA is involved, and even though I am a completist and own every pack I will not be purchasing more.
The Sims 4 is a dead game. A lost cause, Lets just bury it and move on to other games or go back to Sims 2 or Sims 3 .

I had that same bug and I had to move out the family, put them on an empty lot, then move them back to their home lot again. This seemed to fix it. You could try switching the active household as well. Sorry you’re experiencing this too!!

My game has been running smoother somehow??? I'm having less and less glitches and the loading time has decreased significantly for me. I had some issues with my gameplay mods in the beginning of the update, but once I fixed those my game was / is running perfectly well.

My experience is similar. I own all the packs but don’t have any mods or cc installed. My game has been less laggy and more enjoyable than usual.
I haven't played sims 4 in a bit, and I'm pretty sure my game works, I just have a few broken mods, and that's my fault
@@phoenixfly_ you can check the compatibility of the mods at their respective sites cause sometimes they take a bit to update the mod to the current version of the game, start with the major ones first MCCC and other major mods that do a lot of things. Get the updated Better Exceptions mod cause if you have a game exception, It can tell you what mod or file or CC is causing the trouble. An older discontinued mod could still work, but if it doesn't it's best to remove the mod file till someone updates it.
my game is so broken right now and i don’t have lovestruck like the icons on that bottom bar in live mode are all mixed up, my romantic options now are so much more restrictive, my game quits sometimes when i simply try to make my sims kiss, my first impressions thing stops working after a few minutes of gameplay and there are just so many little glitches plus my mods don’t work so i don’t have that to fall back on so rn the game is pretty much unplayable for me 😭
My sims literally always fight out of no where they had all stats like friendships and romance on 100% and as soon as the love struck pack and the updates to the base game came it went down hill. Like suddenly their settings where all of and certain choices aren’t optional anymore which would be necessary to keep the relationships going like I can’t built positive relationships in my files anymore. Even the families in other files went from positive to they all hate each other in line minutes. And all the instructions I researched on how to fix it are only doable if you have the love struck pack…wtf is this
It was for *worst company of the year* it was *The Consumerist* and it was done via a series of reader’s polls. Like a championship u have two companies against each other, one wins and then they and another winner against each other until one remains. If I remember they made some snarky comment about winning and then won again the next year. They were terrible years too for the company. It was a record breaking poll and they beat out regulars like AT&T were surprised even they didn’t win. They got almost 65% of the vote. I think the first one was over Mass Effect 3 and the second over the SimCity reboot fiasco. I remember both very clearly. I don’t think they’re around anymore, sadly. Companies hated being on that list. It was like a public shaming.
The one thing I want is for a complete overhaul of the catalog it’s so messy and confusing with all the additional packs and find it hard to find anything. I feel like they should have a clutter separated per room, a favourites option, change the way you view items so if it’s not just a change of colour it should be a separate item especially with the rugs. Have debug as an option without unlocking it have all the locked items in its own category. Just feel that as mainly a builder I’d love a better catalog experience because it’s so disorganised,
I get the game is broken but this is also something that could really help with the experience as trying to load certain parts of the catalog makes the game goes so slow.
They do need to completely fix the whole game and pause all the other packs and just listen to what is actually wanted and maybe start doing better updates to the overall experience
no literally I cannot travel anywhere, ANYWHERE. I don’t use mods, i’ve never downloaded any on my new pc. every time I try to travel that isn’t create a date I get taken to the world screen with an error code unable to click back into my household to play. I have to go into a sims household that I was friends with to invite myself over and then send myself home so I can play with my sim again 😭😭 like it’s so bad.

⚠️ ❗️ OK as part of a web dev team in the recent past, I have to say it is NOT up to the development team which items get fixed. Never!
Everything goes into a queue, in that queue the items get ranked in order of importance. Also, each item is given an estimate of the amount of time it would take to fix it. Each developer only has so many hours in a dev cycle. They cannot continually over-commit to fixing more than they can handle in that cycle. Devs pull into their queue issues/tickets that they know are a high ranking issue and they are able to complete within a given cycle. If it cannot be completed in a single cycle, it is pushed back to the project manager to be broken up into smaller task that can be completed within a cycle because what you don’t want to happen is for there to be something that takes 2 cycles or more to cause it makes your TEAM’S numbers look bad.
It makes it seem as though the PEOPLE on staff continually have a problem with completing their work timely.
This is why it’s so much easier to be a modders because you, as a mod creator, know that something is going to take a certain amount of time and you work on it till it’s completed you don’t have bars and charts and quotas to keep up with! You do a GOOD job and you do a COMPLETE job. Modders don’t have to fight with other devs on a team telling them “oh your code is garbage. I’m going to change it” and then having to deal with all the sensitive feelings and boo-hooing 🙄 as they run to the PM and complain that so-n-so hurt their feelings and is about to change their code.
It’s not the Dev’s fault that they have to show up every week or every two weeks, hold hands and sing Kumbaya as they stroke other people’s egos and have to let their skills take a backseat to office etiquette 😒

Dev here. Being on a rush or under pressure is no excuse for being toxic. If you don't like somebody's code, you talk with them with respect and correct it together so that you can EXPLAIN what's bad. No only it would solve the "hurt feelings" issues but the bad code issues too, for your colleagues won't repeat the same mistakes. Dev is team work meaning, yes, you've got to work with other people.

I’ve updated MC Command Center and that’s pretty much the only actual mod I have, but my sims still aren’t able to pay their bills. They were able to at least collect it from the mailbox after the patch, but now it just sits in my sim’s inventory and the only option for them is “discard.” And it’s so annoying because the “Bills have been delivered to your mailbox” notification comes up every single time I open up my game, and I have no way to pay them.

I had that problem but it turns out I just had to update the "more rows in CAS" mod, if that helps?

I don't even think I'm going to invest any money in The Sims 5 when it rolls out because if this is a sign of what's to come I'm done with it. I'll continue to play The Sims 2 and have a great time with that. I will wait to update my game when they offer everything else for free and the modders take over the Sims 4 and then I'll finally get to play The Sims 4. I have not played it since the base game. Makes me sad.
Yeah I returned to sims 2 and been so much happier and fulfilled in my gameplay... sims 5 will probably be so cash grabby that it is an instant turn off anyway
I am going to wait at least 2 years after Sims 5 comes out, before I decide to invest in it, I am back to playing Sims 3 and I am so glad that I saved all of my Sims 2 game discs
Sims 5 has been confirmed by EA to be free on release so we can be certain that it will only get worse from here. I can guarantee there are going to be micro transactions, and as Satch has said in previous videos, tons of greediness. They've also confirmed that they'll be splitting Seasons into FOUR packs, one for each season. It's crazy that they're getting away with being so cash grabby.

Yeah, I stopped buying new packs after Cottage Living and last year I finally deleted the game and all my mods and cc for good because of how glitchy it had become. At the end, I couldn't even launch my game due to that one error that a lot of people get now. It was literally unplayable. There are so many other games that are just as or more fun that I've been focusing on since then. I don't miss it one bit.
on EA forums page about bugs list - the list is just piling up everyday after every patch and pack and it does not shrink at all

im SO GLAD im not the only one with this issue!!! i accidentally deleted every single one of my mods while trying to troubleshoot this issue and that was yesterday! im STILL waiting for them to be backed up, and all because i just wanted to binge play the sims again 😭
@@chillingonthesofa oh no! Damn that's soul crushing 😭! Do you have an external hard drive like a SanDisk? Since Sims 4 is so unreliable maybe keep back ups and copy of your mods on the drive for when these patches inevitably mess up the game lol

days like this i'm very lucky/grateful that i never made the full switch to 4. i still play 3 everyday & i never have issues beyond some very minor graphical bugs.
for the out-sourcing, your theory makes sense. they probably outsourced it to save money (since often india/other places have cheaper conversion rates/leas labor laws) and only give them a pack at most, meaning it isn't testing with the majority of the code.
i’m a console player but i haven’t had too many issues except no ceilings and sims keep coming in and out of doors :( idk if it’s just different for everyone which is so strange
Idk if I could ever play on console I took a serious break from the Sims 4 a while back! I had to learn to use it on the computer again! 😂😂😂. I’m honestly in awe of you guys, I can’t imagine building lol

I was playing last night for an hour and a half. I saved the game 2-3 different times and the game crashed. When I logged back on ALL of my progress was wiped and gone. I’m over this tbh
Once again, I am so glad I haven't updated since November. Whenever I had issues it was NEVER the mods fault, and people still would harp on that regardless of what I said. Well, no, I've been around since Sims 1, I've been using computers all my life, I know darn well when something is caused by a mod and when something isn't and it drove me up the wall when I tried to get any support for it because it's like people's eyes would run right over the part where I say it was happening unmodded. "I removed all my mods and it did nothing" Yeah exacty. Try telling people that and they don't believe you.
Someone tried to tell me the holiday bug from November was my mod's fault in the early days of *that*

At this point I just use TS4 as a dress up/decorating game because actual gameplay is so broken. But even in CAS and Build/Buy I see glitches. Clothing isn’t tagged properly, sims’ eyes and hair will randomly change color, clothing will be sorted as locked/unlocked when it’s not, etc etc. It’s so frustrating that even something as basic as Create a Sim isn’t functioning as intended. I have every expansion (except this most recent one) and most game packs and I feel so stupid for wasting so much money on this mess of a game
Simtubers can just post the same video every time there’s a new pack and only change the title of the pack. ‘Cause this happens *every single time.*
My live careers are broken, whenever i try to leave the hospital from Get to Work or the studio from Get Famous, the game crashes and i have to restart the game ALL THE TIME. my pregnant sim literally LOST her baby when I made her go to the Get to Work hospital!! Fears are also broken to me, my sims will get moodlets from fears they dont even have!

My sims game broke completely about 6 weeks ago. Like the game won’t let me open it. I have done everything like uninstalling the game, getting rid of my mods, updating my graphic card, unsycning my one drive. EVERYTHING! After 2 weeks of trying I honestly gave it and from seeing all of these new bugs coming in I guess I’m glad it broke just in time.

I think this is karma. EA tried to take turbo driver, lilmssam and a couple other mod creator's idea and implemented it in Lovestruck and it backfired. How is it that MODS add these features and dont break the game but when EA tries it goes kaputz?? I hope the mod creators are laughing hard rn
They didn’t steal any ideas. Everything those mods do are from previous Sims games. This is the last thing they should be criticized for.
@@madlie2452 that doesnt make sense WW's take on the polygamy system is a "first" for sims 4 there's literally no legitimate polygamy system in the history of the sims and I know this from playing sims 1-3, even then asking for attraction is in sims 2 but not in sims 3 outside of NRaaS woohooer so its still not a legitimate system in a way

Everything else that commenter mentioned has been implemented in some capacity with previous games. You can’t claim the sims plagiarized itself. And last time I checked, polyamory was something that happens in the real world, not something TurboDriver created. They did not steal from modders. Like at all. Focus on the actual point of critique that make sense, such as their broken, overpriced game instead of making such poorly constructed arguments about mod systems that are not unique.
@@madlie2452 yeah but history of the development of sims is precedent unless polygamy is infact something thats present in sims medieval, its not about "real" world" per-se but understanding why these issues happen in the game to begin with is the crux why the game gets buggier per patch, but since most of these code is closed source there narry in hell the community can help figure out which interaction is resulting to these bugs, unless they happen in just the free base game. And I'm not going to pinpoint on the mods as well if they work 100% bug free then good somehow EA goofed up their own execution for whatever reason which can't be just an excuse since ITS LITERALLY THEIR CODE, are the patches moving stuff thats not presented in the UI as factual? Who knows

here's the math!!
- there are currently 76 dlc available for the game
- a player can either "Have" or "Not Have" the content for each given DLC, so that's 2 different possible states.
- 1 dlc would have 2 combinations, 2 dlc would have 4, and 3 would have 8 etc. so that's 2 to the power of however many dlc there are.
- so, the amount of combinations would be 2 to the power of 76
- that equals 75,557,863,725,914,323,419,136
- in other words: 75.5 SEXTILLION combinations
so yeah, obviously there's no way to test for stability for every possible player configuration. the state of this game is totally cooked lmaooo
BUT! it's important to mention , you don't have to only update your mods but also delete the localthumbnails and the other cache files before starting your game, as they contain residual information and it keeping them would be like you haven't updated any files at all

that's why I've completely given up sims 4 and started playing sims 2 again - it's the best game ever
I played Country living for 6 hours yesterday and my progress wasn't saved because the Grim Reaper was stuck in a loop of claiming a nonexisting dying chicken from my coop and I couldn't save because 'you can't save while a sim is dying'. 😭😭 And i lost so much progress..
I have also experienced this a lot in the sims 4 and 3, I reccommend saving often in different save slots, so that if something glitches, you can revert back to an old save. I hope this helps ♡
