This is so helpful! I would love to see an example where the independent variable that has more than 2 levels. Using Father Education as an example, instead of just 2, what if it has 4 types of (No higher education as Control, Vocation School, College, Post Graduate)? It would be so helpful if you explain an example that has more than 2 categories in the IV or Predictor Variable

Then we will mutinomial logit regression model

@@HKofficial15 Thanks for replying - I see, do you have an example or a video that shows the same steps in Stata?

Check my video on multinomial Logitech regression....probably it's in spas I suppose. But it can also be stata.

@@HKofficial15 Hi, thank you. Video #80 however showed an example with one IV with 2 categories (gender). I'm curious about what test to use when I have one IV with 4 nominal categories and one DV with 3 ordinal categories?

How do we understand which categories are combined when conducting ologit with or? Do we specify it somehow or where do we find it?

I was planning on doing an analysis regarding a Dependent Variable that has an ordered ranking (from very bad to very good). I decided to do an Ordered Logit Model and was watching your video to understand my coefficients better. However, when reading the first comment, when Mandy asks about multiple level IVs, you tell her to do a multinomial logistic regression instead. My most important IV has multiple possible values (in case, the variable in question is vote for president in the first round of the Brazilian elections, meaning that the IV can be one of the 9 different candidates then).
In this case, should I use the Ordered Logit or a Multinomial Logistic?
Thank you so much for your videos and patience!

As long as your dependent variable has an order (& has more then 2 levels), you should use ordinal logistic regression.

Here R square doesn't matter? We should check some assumption here or not, like hetro auto multi in oLS?

The video is helpful. I have 10 questions about nutritional attitudes with attitude being ranked as negative (1), neutral (2), and positive (3). How can I best analyze this using an ordered logit model? I wanted to create a single variable for the 10 questions but it's not working well. How can I best create a single variable for the ten questions? I tried creating scores but I am not interest in binary logistic regression (0- negative and 1-positive). Please help.
    Thanks

Why don't you try multinomial logit? What's bad in it?

It works with multinominal. The problem is how to reduce the 10 questions into a single variable or two?

Can we interpret the coefficients of logit model or we should interpret its marginal effects?

Great vedio.Hello Dr, please is it possible to use ordered logisitic regression analysis if my data has about 4 ordered responses(dependent variables) and about 2-4 other independent variables?

Can ordered logit regression be used for ordinal variable only? Can we use it to find probability of something? That is given a set of features can we use this model to find probability of a student that he/she will apply for MS ?
Please can anyone help me in this concept... im really confused.

      Y = alpha +beta Gender + theta literate + error
      You mean like this
