Just stepped off a sailing on Queen Elizabeth and we loved it. We were up a couple of decks higher than you on deck 8, but I instantly knew that scene as we took photos from boat 3 with me on the promenade and my other half waving from our balcony suite. She’s a beautiful vessel and we adored every minute on board.

I’m booked on Queen Elizabeth for an Alaskan Cruise in August 2024 ! First time onboard this grand ship ! Can hardly wait. Especially after viewing this film ! The Queen Elizabeth is such a classy and elegant ship ! I love all the beautiful wood panelling and art deco designs. Evoking the golden age of Cunard history!! So glad to hear you enjoyed the cruise with your family ( especially your grand mum ) Cherish your time with her always! I wish I still had my grandparents with me !! May I also compliment you on your wonderful narration and speaking voice ? I really am not sure why , but we Americans are always so impressed by British accents! So classy and refined . Went on a trans Pacific cruise on her in Februrary of '18; San Francisco - Sydney. It was fabulous. Scored a great balcony cabin. You nailed it. The ship is fabulous.

@@CruisingWithMatthew Yes! San Francisco (I live in Silicon Valley), Honolulu, HI, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Moorea, Auckland, NZ, Bay of Islands, NZ, then Sydney, where we have friends! Cabin 5150 was great; lots of privacy on reg balcony. Hope you do it!
Fantastic video! I've been watching a lot of Queen Mary2 footage over the last few years and not been on a Cunard Cruise yet but now I've seen the Queen Elizabeth I think ive got a new favourite ship!

Hello Matthew. Thank you sharing this video. It was spot on and very informative. We went on the first of its cruises after Covid ie 13/8/21 and what an experience. It was quite clear that all the staff from the Lady Captain were absolutely delighted to be back ‘on the sea’. It was the first time in 500 days they had sailed. And the first time in Cunard history that there had ever been a time where they ships could not sail. So quite an historical cruise I’d say. We had the most wonderful time. We’ve done a few cruises on other lines but none of them compare to the Cunard. Well don 🇮🇪☘️👏

Hi Mathew. Enjoyed the Elizabeth video. We are cruising to Alaska June 1st. I think you mentioned the Steakhouse as being the only up charge...but I think they convert the Lido to different cuisines with an up charge. Also the coffee shop is extra???
Hey there :) really glad you enjoyed it! Ah yes my mistake, on our cruise the lido wasn't an extra charge venue although that may have changed as things have gotten more 'normal'
Yes Cafe Carinthia is - apologies I meant it as no other extra charge Dining Venues :)

Great video Matthew! I've sailed on the Queen Elizabeth twice and love her. The Queen's room is fabulous and I love the history associated with Cunard. Hope you get to sail on Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2.

Sadly my Cunard cruise was cancelled. I was due a TA from New York but I’ve managed to get a 13 night Caribbean cruise on a Princess booked.
One day I *will* get onboard a Cunard ship. This looks absolutely gorgeous Matthew, thanks for another great film.

I worked as a guest lecturer on several world cruise s in the queen Elizabeth as well as many European cruises

That painting at 0:58 doesn't look like the old Queen Elizabeth. It may be a bad painting, but it looks like a smaller twin funnelled Cunarder. The old Queen Elizabeth appeared to have more bulk in its superstructure.

I wonder why they call her Queen Elizabeth, but not Queen Elizabeth 3 (because there were 2 Elizabeths Cunard made during 1940's and 1960's)
I'm not sure actually! Potentially because it sounds better or because the original QE is no longer around :)

Hey I'd reccomend Queen Mary 2 if that was the case! There's always lots going on and the staff couldn't do enough to help you! I've always felt safe onboard a Cunard ship or any ship I've been on for that matter :)

Although not intentional Cunard's design definitely harks back to the traditional era of Ocean Liners hence QE's traditional look :)

It always seems empty. Is it full of pompous old people? I’ve cruised many times but never with Cunard.
Hey there :) It was only because I recorded this tour early in the morning as I didn't want people being recorded who might not have been comfortable with it :) Everyone is really friendly and not at all pompous! I absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again one day soon!
Yep! When I think of Cunard I think of the Transatlantic. I realize the difference between an Ocean liner & Cruise ship. QE has slightly thicker steel....
I'd love to do a transatlantic on the QM2!
