We have Kennedy, Chip Roy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Brian Mast, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul. There are a lot of conservatives who are fighting very hard to carry the message of Rule of Law, God and the importance of representing the people they serve. Claire is lovely, outspoken and a woman as am I. It's nice to see. Ireland is not the US. We have an entirely different history. Our relationship with Russia, now RF, lee USSR, is entirely different. It's way more complicated. They have a very high standard of living in Ireland now. We do not now in the US. We are plagued by homelessness, poverty, crime and hopelessness. We are not a Catholic or even a Christian country anymore. Ireland is. Our veterans are suicidi g at a rate of 22 per day. We have expired all our "non-essentials" to the PRC and at least 20% of our GNP is from military. We are making money from the SMO. It was the RF's last choice 🍀🤍💙♥️

When I lived in Bromley just over 10yrs ago the government took the local council to court after they refused to house 20k Polish. The council argued that they had 20k applicants that had been on their waiting list for 10yrs or more, the council lost their court case & were forced to build new houses for the 20k Polish. A lot of people were pissed off because they bumped up the council tax by £30pcm to pay for it. This is the type of unfair treatment that has immigrants hated by the locals & the government knows it.
Exactly. It is the failure of governments to do what their people need with all the billions they rake off in taxes. Never short if handouts for politicians. You will note all their wages have managed to keep place with inflation through all the years of austerity we have experienced since the Bank crash.They are insulated from the cost of living crisis because we just pick up their expenses. They are the cancer in society not people who are trying to live their lives. But they would rather keep us at each others throats than keeping too close an eye on their shenanigans and corrupt behaviour and holding them to account.
I totally agree - no one is against the immigrants themselves, we are against the unfairness of government policy. It seems that in the EU, member states are paid to take in refugees, but the reform that would be required in the housing, health and education services is just not happening. By far the biggest impact is on the quality of life for people on the bottom - ie working class people in low paid jobs, pensioners, disabled people or other underprivileged people who have never had the opportunity to lift themselves out of the poverty trap. With the present influx of refugees from across the globe, the burden may yet prove too great for smaller nations - unless there is radical reform in government policy. Take in refugees and provide shelter, absolutely agree, but engage a team of experts to plan the entire process of integration and fairness. There’s no point in piling more and more into sinking lifeboats and not expecting a human catastrophe, if not a revolution from the bottom.
If the EU quits funding wars on countries such as Iraq, Syria etc, there won’t be refugee to seek other places to live. In the case of the Palestinians. They’re being killed for NOT WANTING TO LEAVE THEIR COUNTRY!!

I have seen the tension in Ireland building for about 10 years.
It is a cultural tension. Let me explain:
The Irish culture is very distinct, even apart from Celtic culture in general, and that Identity was amplified in the 70s, and Earlier in the New York City police force in the early 1900s where the Irish diaspora coalesced into an identity node with real power.
Many in Ireland saw true tradition as their heartland - and still do.
Immigration into Ireland annoys the tradition - but in a strange way.
Those who immigrate into Ireland with an honor for the tradition are welcomed as family, but those who come there with dishonor are despised. I have seen some shockingly reactionary attitudes expressed by the Traditional community.
I suspect that such conflicts in the arena of identity are ripe-pickings for those who seek to use xenophobia to incite conflict. And in this? Ireland is far from alone.
As a supporter of cultural tradition and the identity it gives us, I see the need for us all to be on-guard against those who seek to use our own identities against us.
The very principle of human culture is at stake .. so it's important.
Yeah dude hammm... Countries do tend to live in a Nationalist Bubble (tradition) that can be good or bad. Usually they have both... You have to ABSTRACT yourself from that! I noticed for example... As an American, when I watch Europe including Ireland, saying they want diversity & immigration is fine I'm thinking-- OH dear; oh dear. THEY have NO idea. THEY have NO idea. America of course has a million different ethnicities; languages; cultures; traditions;etc and look at it! IT'S not doing very well. I actually feel sorry for Britain but not too sorry because they created The germ of all the wars that have ensued due to what they did as a colonial power 200 yrs ago. Ask the Pakistanis, ask the ask the people of Kashmir, asked the people of Palestine, ask the people anywhere in the Middle East or the far East or the near East and you will get the same answer: the British set them up for war and disaster by dividing up their countries.

I watched a good CSIS video "The Russian Way of Warfare" a while back, which intimates that US policy makers certainly understand that NATO actions were/are provocative but they are still unable to do otherwise. A failure of communication and perhaps imagination.

This is why, as an American, I really love to hear Clare Daly get outraged and give the bitch slap to her government. We have no one in ours that is genuinely fighting for the people here. The situation you described is exactly what most ordinary Americans are going through as well, and it's getting pretty desperate for many of us. We get the same juvenile, immature name calling but we're also getting censored and cancelled every single day. So much for the 1st Amendment - freedom of speech. I'm going on 70 and I've been voting since 1972. I can say from personally witnessing the downward trajectory of this country that nothing in all these decades has gotten one bit better here. It either stays exactly the same (which is actually a relief when it happens) or it's gotten exponentially worse with every new regime change in DC. I hope Clare Daly knows by now that Warren Donehoe who tackled the stabber and wrenched the knife from the assailant was scrubbed from the record.
