Unless he stops completely, they'll just keep extending the protection order and he'll keep racking up contempt charges until he starts getting put away for years at a time. 30 days is just the "standard" for a first contempt, but different judges handle it in different ways. If the judge is sick of his crap, he could give him more than just 30 days at the next contempt hearing.
