@@squirt2384 It is unlikely though. The drive to expand would probably be caused by limited ressources. That limitation would lead to some sort of conflict in their history and the genetical disposition to wage war.

All life desires to expand, so space exploration is a natural course for any spacefaring civilization to take. They come in peace to establish diplomatic relations so we nuke their ships and glass their homeworld in response.

And instead of learning from our mistakes and trying to fix things, they'd rather take over another planet that is toxic to us due to the high levels of carbon dioxide. A planet that already has Indigenous lifeforms that made it clear they don't want us, and basically make the same mistakes again. Kill the people, destroy the natural habitat and wildlife and other things. They were killing off an entire species of alien whales just for a remedy to slow down aging.
When will humans learn? You don't need to destroy a planet and commit genocide to prosper. And instead of taking a planet that's already inhabitated, how about taking one that isn't? In the Avatar series, I don't recall them saying anything about Mars. Why aren't the Humans just moving to Mars which is literally right next door? And then sending vessels to look for non inhabited worlds to use? If there's no native life then it's up for grabs, but if there is native life leave it alone.
