Brian...thank you for being interested in what we do and allowing us the opportunity to share our story with your viewers. We're looking forward to ongoing collaboration with you.
@@chriszucker7500 you're welcome and thank you for allowing us to be a part of it I appreciate you taking the time yesterday
Back in the 1950's John Deere made a v4 Gas engine to start their big diesels. They turned 6000rpm which was pretty crazy fast for the 1950's. I understand there was a time when they were pretty popular to hotrod for midget racing. Pretty funny to consider they were racing starter motors. LOL This v4 looks a lot more serious. That big cam is nice. If I was building a race engine from the ground up I would make it with individual blocks and heads for serviceability and repair. It seems to me the vast majority of failures in race engines occur in the valvetrain and piston area so the ability to change out just those parts when they are damaged seems like would save a lot of time and money.
Interesting like the cooling design around the cylinders
Very cool project Prof Salter 👍🏁
Working for GM dealerships for over 30 years. It's good to know the crate engines come from them. No wonder why they a so reliable!
Pretty cool Brother, thanks for sharing!
Sounds awesome!
🏁🏁🏁Great video...Thx for sharing the info.

900 HP ENGINE
HE CAN TELL YOU IF HE DID THE HEADS
I love the new intro brother!!!!!
Here 👍
Interesting
That crank outta rev to 15000 rpm
Why arent the valves pneumatic?
@@Doug-b4p it's not allowed in the rules
Any reason why they didn't go for 4 valve per cylinder, 88mm bore is enough for that.
Honda B16 is capable of 190hp all preped wet sump, no idea how long it will last at that HP level, I guess this V4 engine is reaching there but able to last longer.
@@CJ5EVOLUTION well the two valve is way less complicated and it would weigh less for the two valve setup. But yes this thing is making 1.82 horsepower per cube and we're already at the limit for the racing rules. And trust me when I tell you I know it will exceed 2.0 per cube. Very easily. That's why we're been talking together and I'm helping him with some changes here and there.
It will nice to see the little different variation of the same block but with Subaru 4V cylinder heads, with all that design and machining capability, I guess it is possible and I guess then 2.1 or 2.2 HP per CI is possible. Looks like a solid platform, they shall use that block as structural chassis like they do in F1, seems to be a very robust block to do so.
WhT scavenges the top end?
@@Doug-b4p nothing not necessary it's all open
