In the 70's he was a badass. I like how he brought a certain swagger to hard rock drumming. No line-up compares to 70's era KISS. Although, I do love Eric Carr too.

Peter Criss took some lessons with Jerry Nolan. Peter Criss became the drummer in Kiss. And Jerry Nolan the drummer in the New York Dolls. So Peter Criss, a fabulous rock drummer, in a great band is maybe underrated. But his mate Nolan, a real good drummer, with a fucked up way of life, is a candidate for the first place.

@@alanfeldstein9761 The Dolls are punk, so it's not the same level of musicianship. Maybe apart for the drums. They were also a glam band. But Jerry and Peter were great friends.Since childhood. Me, I'm a fan of the Dolls and I'm a fan of Kiss. Rock on, I feel a little bit sad cos one of the guitar player of the Dolls died a couple of days ago. Just the singer is still alive. Kiss, happily, are alive and well.

One thing I love about this song is, I've always known of them opening every show with this song. If you're not ready to rock and roll, you will be in the first 5 minutes. Peter Criss (the drummer) is an amazing drummer. His style is jazz. Just hyped up. One you should check out is Domino. It's from their Revenge album and Gene is on vocals.

I remember being a kid DREAMING of seeing them live. Finally at the age of fifteen in 2009… that dream became a reality. KISS Alive 35 Tour. A night I will never forget. Seeing them many times over, and then finally with my wife, and son on their End Of The Road Tour in 2019. Tears were shed, smiles were made, and memories that will last eternity. I know this sounds weird, but band-structure-wise, KISS reminds me more of the Beatles.
The rhythm guitarist (Paul Stanley /John Lennon) sings most of their songs.
The bassist (Gene Simmons / Paul McCartney) sings second-most.
Most of their songs are written by the rhythm guitarist and bassist together.
The lead guitarist (Ace Frehley / George Harrison) and drummer (Peter Criss / Ringo Starr) also take lead vocals on songs that they occasionally write and contribute.

You can tell when they do it , the audience goes wild . They've been asked so many times what they mean by "he's worth a duce" I'v never heard them give the meaning in all the interviews I'v watched ! (I'v been a fan since 1973). I'm so glad that another generation is enjoying the music we enjoyed years ago ! . . FYI . .
